Counsel to the Nation 2

“By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.” Proverbs 8:15(KJV)

It is important for us to take these essentials very seriously as a nation. The first five given by the best economist in the world and the last three which I added. They are stated together below:

1. A rich modern highly productive agricultural base.
2.A rich base of energy bearing materials.
3.An abundant supply of non energy bearing materials.
4.A highly- developed technology.
5.A highly educated and sophisticated population.
6.Justice
7.A well defined vision with a plan to achieve it.
8.The training and the empowerment of entrepreneurs.

I encourage every Nigerian in government or outside the government who comes across these essentials to put them to work, and I believe the results will bring greater success and respect to us as a nation, as well as for us among the committee of nations.

Nigeria is a great nation with the largest population in Africa, which is an abundant supply of human capital. Therefore, I will like to encourage the leaders of this nation to take the educational sector seriously because, it is very important for us as a nation to have a highly educated and sophisticated population.

This is because, without human capital development, a nation's resources alone do not give full advantage in the committee of nations. So, it is obvious to us why we are where we are inspite of how God has blessed this nation with natural resources. So let us begin to take the steps necessary for the growth we desire.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for you will cause everyone of our political leaders to favor your righteous course, and I pray that your peace and prosperity will reign within and outside the borders of this great nation in Jesus Name. Amen.

Counsel to the Nation 1

“By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.” Proverbs 8:15(KJV)

Today, I want to share with you five essentials necessary for a nation to succeed. These essentials were proposed by the best economist in the world. They said that such a nation must have:

1.A rich modern highly productive agricultural base.
2.A rich base of energy bearing materials.
3.An abundant supply of non energy bearing materials.
4.A highly-developed technology.
5.A highly educated and sophisticated population.

So these five essentials, according to the best economists in the world, are necessary for a nation to succeed.

But I want to let you know that there is more needed than just those five essentials. Other essentials like justice is also needed.

Justice is important because no nation can thrive without the Rule of Law. So long as there is no justice, there will be perpetuated corruption. And so long as there is corruption, no one will be loyal to the nation.

It is important you note that, “no nation can rise beyond the loyalty of her own people.”

So that’s where we must begin as a nation, if we are going to rise and succeed as we desire to, there must be justice, and the rule of law must be upheld. There must be penalties for corruption. This is what will bring about increased loyalty of our people to the nation.

PRAYER

Dear Father I pray for every one of our political leaders, from the President to the least person in the position of authority - grant them wisdom and an understanding heart to be able to carry out the affairs of this nation rightly in Jesus Name. Amen.

God is with you

“… and I will be with thy mouth … and will teach you what ye shall do.”
Exodus 4:15(KJV).

From our opening scripture, the Bible lets us know that we are not alone. God is always with us. He is with your mouth. He will also teach you what to do. Walk with this understanding, and it will give you confidence in your personal life.

For example, let us assume that you are going for an interview, don't get intimidated when you see the faces of those there to interview you. The bible says in Jeremiah 1:8, “Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.” Therefore, walk in there confidently knowing that you are God's man or God's woman. Refuse to fear. Prepare yourself for the interview, but you know that your faith is not in your preparation but in God. So, as you go in for that interview, know that God will teach you what to say, and what to do.

I remember a time I was faced with a panel of persons from my school concerning our campus fellowship at that time. They wanted to know why people were joining our fellowship the way they did, especially people from secret cults. So, I was called to be asked some questions before this panel; comprising of two Deans of that institution, and some other persons. When I opened my mouth to begin to answer their questions, these ones who were supposed to interrogate me, began to take notes from what I was saying, and they were not able to resist the mouth and the wisdom with which I spoke.

God can do the same for you and with you, if only you will learn to live with this understanding.

PROPHECY
“Thus saith the Lord, in these days I am raising men and women that will bring my counsel and my wisdom to the peoples of this world. They will come with solution in their mouth. Yes, my Spirit and my anointing will guide them step by step until they rise to places of influence in this country. Watch me says God, I will begin to station people and position them in positions of influence and authority by my Spirit. Says the Spirit of God."

Produce a positive effect

“And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” Colossians 3:17(KJV).

Whatever you do, would either have a positive effect, or a negative effect, in the lives of those that are under your leadership. If you do the right things and speak the right words, you would produce a positive effect, but if you do the wrong things and speak the wrong words, you would produce a negative effect. And remember that both would have a far more reaching effect than you can estimate.

I heard of a boy that was told, “Go to hell” by his mother. So, he went out of the house to a friend's house, took a gun and shot himself on the head with it, and he died. That action was triggered by that simple word that was said by his mother. Those words that you are saying to your children, and over all those that are under your authority matters. If you have been saying the wrong words over their lives, you need to repent and start saying only the right words over their lives, and it will surely have a far more reaching effect than you can estimate.

As parents your words and your deeds influence your children, and the words you tell them can go a long way to shape or reshape their destinies. As teachers, you influence your students; your words can also shape their destinies. It has a far reaching effect in their lives.
Think of Lester Calvin Brown, who was told by his family members and those around him that he was mentally retarded. He believed it, and lived with that mind set until his Algebra teacher, Mr. Washington, said to him, “Don't allow someone's opinion of you become your reality.” And today, Lester Calvin Brown has influenced so many people and motivated them to great heights. That was made possible because of the words of his teacher, Mr. Washington, which gave him a new view of himself. Your words can make the difference today in some body's life.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I ask that my words today be anointed to heal the broken hearted. May my words be seasoned with grace, and be uplifting to everyone that will hear me today in Jesus Name. Amen.

WISDOM PRESERVES

“Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.” Proverbs 4:6(KJV)

Do you know that how long you live can be decided by your knowledge? For instance with the increased level of knowledge in medicine and other health related matters today, human life can be better sustained and preserved.

There were diseases that used to kill people before but because of more knowledge, people are preserved. Therefore, we can say that knowledge preserves. The Bible says in Proverbs 4:5-6, “Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.”

Wisdom will preserve you and keep you safe. Money can buy you security but money cannot buy you safety.

Therefore, having wisdom is a necessity because the Bible says in Proverbs 3:13-24, “Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.

She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her. The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens. By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew. My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion: So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck. Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble. When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.”

PRAYER
Dear Father I thank you because my life is guided by your wisdom. Therefore, I am preserved and kept from all evil. The number of my days I will fulfil in Jesus Name. Amen.

Don't be Slack, be diligent

“He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.”
Proverbs 10:4(KJV)

Our opening scripture shows us that poverty is a choice. Therefore if you are one of those who do not like to work, you just want to be idle, you are dealing with a slack hand. If you are careless with your work and you do not pay attention to details when working, you are dealing with a slack hand. That is journeying on the road to poverty.

If you refuse to develop yourself and improve in what you do, or to put new features in your product to make it better and more competitive, you are dealing with a slack hand. Also, if you are lazy, negligent, sloppy or slow in your work, you are dealing with a slack hand.

The Bible says anyone who works with a slack hand will be poor. It is a law. Therefore, if you are not increasing in wisdom, to begin to deal diligently in your work, no matter how much you pray to God to get to the top, you will not get there. It is not because you are cursed, but the scripture cannot be broken.

The scripture says that the hand of the diligent makes rich. So if you want to be rich, wisdom shows you how. He tells you to be diligent.

So don't just be praying to go up without preparing to go up. For instance, I found out that billionaires read two books a week.

Also in the kingdom of God, those who have stood the test of time and are used mightily of God are diligent. To mention a few, Oral Roberts was reading four books a week. Bishop Oyedepo reads four books a week. While the average Pastor reads one book a month. They cannot produce the same results with their lives.

I encourage you, go for wisdom and diligence, you will not only become rich, but you will stand before kings because the scriptures cannot be broken.

PRAYER
Dear Father I repent from every form of slackness in any area of my life and in my job. Today I receive grace for diligence and wisdom for increased productivity and promotion in what I do in Jesus Name. Amen.

Your appearance matters.

“… Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance.”
Genesis 39:6(ESV)

Are you aware that 95% of people who are employed, are employed because of their dressing?

One of the prominent Pastors in our nation made mention of this fact, saying that at one time after they conducted an interview in their ministry, the best person who scored the highest in the interview was not taken because of his dressing. His tie was bent sideways. That was what disqualified him.

They didn't take him because they believed that if he cannot manage his tie, he will not be able to manage the responsibility that will be given to him. The Bible says, if you have been faithful over a few things, you will be made ruler over many things (Matthew 25:21).

Do you know that from your dressing we can  tell if you are responsible or irresponsible? The quality of your dressing is a reflection of your wisdom.

Your appearance matters. As a man, immediately your hair or your bead is overgrown, trim them or shave them off. As a lady, make your hair. Your appearance reveals the value you have for yourself.

Appear sharp, excellent and orderly. You don't need to have all the money in the world to do these things. Wisdom is all you need. It is a proof of wisdom to keep your environment tidy. Wash your clothes, wash your car, be neat. That is wisdom. This is because if you don't take care of the disorder in your environment, you may soon find that disorder in your life. This is because the order in your environment is always a reflection of your wisdom.

You will not become excellent over night. You would have to train yourself to become excellent by developing the right habits. As you do, it will affect your finances and everything about your life positively.

The order in your life can be a reflection of the order in your spirit, and disorder in your life can be a reflection of disorder in your spirit.

Do something beautiful for God.

“ … doing something beautiful for God and becoming beautiful doing it.”
1 Timothy 2:10(MSG)

Today, in encouraging you to begin to do something beautiful for God, I want to encourage you to begin to follow the principle of leaving a place better than you find it. By so doing, you will be doing something beautiful for God by prioritizing order.

Don't go into a rest room that is clean and then leave it dirty. Don't throw dirt indiscriminately on the street and anywhere you are. Don't leave your house dirty. Don't leave your car dirty. Even if you are not the one who put that dirt there, please leave that place better than you met it.

Join me in this and let's give ourselves a target to follow this principle of leaving wherever we find ourselves better than we met it till the end of the year and let's see what will happen in our lives and to our environment.
This is what you will experience: you will be amazed at the level of peace you will have. This is because order creates peace. So when you have order, you will have increased peace.

Secondly, order increases your level of creativity. So you will find out that you will be more creative in what you do because the distractions have been removed. Have you noticed that when you enter a very orderly place you become more creative?

Thirdly, when you keep your room,  your house, and  your office orderly, you will be able to hear God's voice more when you are there.

Fourthly, order will help you to sustain your focus, so you will be able to keep your focus.

Therefore, I encourage you to begin to eliminate disorder from your life. This is because, as you increase your level of excellence, your level of income will surely increase as well.

Prayer.
Dear Father, I thank you for you are at work in me both to will and to do of your good pleasure. Therefore, I thank you for your grace to prioritize order in my life, and in my environment in Jesus Name. Amen.

Insightful intelligence.

“And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to prove Solomon with hard questions at Jerusalem, with a very great company, and camels that bare spices, and gold in abundance, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart. And Solomon told her all her questions: and there was nothing hid from Solomon which he told her not.”
2 Chronicles 9:1-2(KJV)

From our opening scripture, we see that wisdom is insightful intelligence. This is because when the Queen of Sheba was coming to Solomon, she was coming to ask him hard questions. When you check that in the Hebrew, the Bible is talking about proverbs and riddles.

That means that when the Queen of Sheba came to Solomon she came to test his wisdom to see if he will be able to tell the meanings of those hard proverbs and riddles. But when she came to Solomon, the Bible records that “… Solomon told her all her questions: and there was nothing hid from Solomon which he told her not.”

That was wisdom working. It gave Solomon insightful intelligence. And that is the way God wants you to be.

The Bible tells us in Mark 12:13(GNB), “Some Pharisees and some members of Herod's party were sent to Jesus to trap him with questions.” But they could not. Luke 20:20(GNB) puts it this way, “So they looked for an opportunity. They bribed some men to pretend they were sincere, and they sent them to trap Jesus with questions, so that they could hand him over to the authority and power of the Roman Governor.” Then the Bible says in Luke 20:26(GNB), “There before the people they could not catch him in a thing, so they kept quiet, amazed at his answer.” And then after they tried and still could not fault the wisdom of Jesus, the Bible says in Luke 20:40(GNB), “…they did not dare ask him any more questions.”

Dear Father, I thank you for you have given me wisdom and insightful intelligence which no adversary shall be able to gain say or resist in Jesus Name. Amen.

Cutting edge advantage.

“The labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city.” Ecclesiastes 10:15(KJV)

Do you know that wisdom will help you to use knowledge to your advantage? For instance, in the business world, the first person that brought out the tablet was Microsoft, but it didn't sell.
Then another individual called Steve Jobs took his time and brought out the iPad and people wanted it. What gave him an edge over Microsoft? It's wisdom.

Wisdom is the timely act of intelligence. You may be intelligent but you must learn how to use it at the right time. Ecclesiastes 10:10(BBE) “If the iron has no edge, and he does not make it sharp, then he has to put out more strength; but wisdom makes things go well.” In other words, when the iron is blunt, instead of using more strength, wisdom lets you know that it is the right time to sharpen the edge. The King James Version says, “… wisdom is profitable to direct.”

So functioning in wisdom is what will give you cutting edge advantage. This means that success is not in effort. Efforts are good, but if they are not directed intelligently, it will lead to your own frustration.

In Ecclesiastes 10:15, the Bible says, “The labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city.” Proverbs 10:21 says, “The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.”

If the labour of the foolish leads to weariness, it therefore means that frustration is traceable to a lack of wisdom. So an individual may be working hard, but he remains frustrated. Why? It is because he does not understand the 'how to' of wisdom. He does not know how to go into the city.

Wisdom will show you how to have cutting edge advantage and minimize your stress thereby eliminating frustration.

Prayer:
Dear Father, I thank you for your wisdom grants me further understanding and insights into my work that will give me cutting edge advantage without stress. I receive such grace today in Jesus Name. Amen.

Knowledge for inventions.

“I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.”                  Proverbs 8:12(KJV)

Our opening scripture lets us know that wisdom finds out knowledge of witty inventions. Therefore we can say that wisdom is creative intelligence. So if you desire to be creative, what you need is wisdom.

There are inventions that have not yet entered into the hearts of men but wisdom has the knowledge of it. So when that wisdom begins to function in your mind you will be able to bless our world with new inventions.

George Washington Carver is a good example of a devout Christian who functioned in the wisdom of God that brought him the knowledge of witty inventions. He lived between 1860-1943.
After graduation, George Washington Carver was made the director of agricultural research at the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama. As a devout Christian, Carver considered his laboratory “God’s Little Workshop.” He discovered that peanuts and soybeans would restore soil fertility, but farmers complained that they had no market for these products. To provide markets, Carver developed 300 products from the peanuts and 118 from sweet potatoes.

My friend, God is no respecter of persons. If He was able to do that with George Washington Carver who was born as a black slave yet he grew up to become an inventor because of the wisdom of God at work in him.  You are not an exception. If only you would submit your mind to the wisdom of God, it will bring you knowledge of witty inventions.

Prayer:
Dear Father I believe that you are not a respecter of persons. Therefore, as I submit my mind to you I ask that you give me insight and wisdom that will bring me knowledge of witty inventions in Jesus Name. Amen.

Increase in wisdom 3.

“Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.” Daniel 6:3(KJV)

Without wisdom God will not give you favor before authority figures.

A lot of Christians want favor with those in position of authority so that they may be able to get contracts and appointments but some of them are not increasing in wisdom.

But if you are a man or a woman full of the wisdom of God, God Himself will begin to recommend you because He knows that you will be able to manage whatever is given you to do.

Wisdom is detailed insight. This is because as you begin to walk in the wisdom of God, God will begin to give you divine insight into things. This was why Pharaoh said what he said about Joseph in Genesis 41:39-40, “And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.”

If you will begin to go for wisdom, you will not need to lobby for position. As a young man, when all my friends were moving around trying to be popular in ministry, I was preparing. Why? It was because I knew that “nobody can shine beyond the level of his wisdom.”

The Bible says the wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament (Daniel 12:3). So you cannot shine beyond the level of your wisdom.

Therefore, focus on increasing your wisdom because with increased wisdom comes increased influence and authority. Also, with increased wisdom comes increased honour and income. So as you focus on gaining and increasing in wisdom, you will become a wonder.

Prayer:
Dear Father I thank you for you fill me with the knowledge of your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding in Jesus Name. Amen.

Increase in wisdom 2.

“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.” Proverbs 4:7-8(KJV)

From our opening scripture, we see that if you get wisdom and increase in wisdom, that wisdom will promote you.

One of the ways to increase in wisdom is to spend time meditating on the Word of God. This is because as the intelligence of that Word gains control over your mind, that is wisdom. This is because God’s Word is His wisdom.

In Matthew 7:24-27 the Jesus said, “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.”

The proof that you are wise is choosing to build you life by the Word of God. The words of Jesus shows us that there is a reward for building your life by the Word of God. The reward is that when the rain, the floods and the negative wind of life comes against you, you will not fall because you are founded on the rock.

The Word of God is a sure foundation for everyone who will build their lives upon it.

Prayer:
Dear Father I thank you that as I subject my mind to meditating upon the truth of your Word, may your wisdom dominate my mind and all my actions to be in conformity to your Word so that all that I do will be crowned with success in Jesus Name. Amen.

Increase in wisdom 1.

“Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her. She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.” Proverbs 4:8-9(KJV)

You are as wise to the measure your life is in conformity to the Word of God. Wisdom is conforming your life with the Word of God. As you find it in the Word of God, conform your life to it. As you keep on functioning that way, the higher you will go in life. It will bring you to prominence.

Wisdom is the key to effortless success. Wisdom is what will bring you to honour. Wisdom will promote you. Wisdom will publicize you and lift you.

Wisdom will bring you favor. The Bible says in our opening scripture that “She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace” That is favor. Therefore the man that is functioning by wisdom does not need to pray for favor, he just begins to flow in it.

The Bible says that, “a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.” That means that wisdom will give you authority.

Wisdom will also increase your worth and value. For instance, Les Brown the motivational speaker reads four books every week and he is paid $450,000 whenever he speaks for one hour. His wisdom increased his worth and value.

Wisdom can also do the same for you, if only you will surrender your heart to increase in wisdom.

THE REWARD OF WISDOM

“And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand.” Genesis 39:3(KJV)

When wisdom is working in your life, you will need little or no supervision. Joseph didn't need any supervision. But all that was committed to him while he was in Potiphar's house prospered until he began to manage all that Potiphar had without his supervision. (Genesis 39:1-6)

When he was cast into prison unjustly, he managed all the prisoners and the administration of the prison without any supervision from the keeper of the prison. The Bible says in Genesis 39:22-23, “And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph's hand all the prisoners that were in the prison; and whatsoever they did there, he was the doer of it. The keeper of the prison looked not to any thing that was under his hand; because the LORD was with him, and that which he did, the LORD made it to prosper.”

Now when Joseph came out of prison, he not only interpreted Pharaoh's dreams, but Pharaoh made him the ruler of all of Egypt and he was able to manage the whole of Egypt and the administration of the food project until he was able to gather grain like the sand on the sea that cannot be measured without the supervision of Pharaoh. (Genesis 41:25-44, 46-49)

Then in Genesis 41:55-57 God's Word translation, the Bible says, “When everyone in Egypt began to feel the effects of the famine, the people cried to Pharaoh for food. But Pharaoh said to all the Egyptians, "Go to Joseph! Do what he tells you!" When the famine had spread all over the country, Joseph opened all the storehouses and sold grain to the Egyptians. He did this because the famine was severe in Egypt. The whole world came to Joseph in Egypt to buy grain, since the famine was so severe all over the world.”

You need Prudence

“I wisdom dwell with prudence, …”                  Proverbs 8:12(KJV)

From our opening scripture it is obvious that if you want to be prudent in your life, you need to have wisdom because wisdom dwells with prudence.

This is what you need if you are going to rise to the level of influence that God has prepared for you.  You must walk in wisdom and prudence.

One of the meaning of the word prudence in the Jewish mind is 'ethics.' The word prudence could also refer to discretion. In Proverbs 5:1-2, the Bible says, “My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding: That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.”

This means that when an individual has wisdom, they have discretion. Therefore, we can define wisdom as discretionary intelligence. So when you have wisdom, you will know the right way to behave wherever you find yourself. This is because true wisdom is always evident in behavior.

Wisdom is the behavioral expression of divine intelligence. In other words, if you have wisdom it would of necessity show in your behavior.

This was evident in the life of David because the Bible says in 1 Samuel 18:5, “And David went out whithersoever Saul sent him, and behaved himself wisely: and Saul set him over the men of war, and he was accepted in the sight of all the people, and also in the sight of Saul's servants.”

Therefore David was able to rise to his fullest potential and to the level of influence that God has prepared for him because he functioned in wisdom. You too can do the same only if you choose the way of wisdom.

PRAYER
Dear Father I ask that you give unto me prudence to enable me walk in discretionary and divine intelligence in the conduct of all my affairs for exceptional results and the ability to rise to my fullest potential and all that you have planned for me in Jesus Name. Amen.

Are you faithful?

“Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?”
Matthew 24:45(KJV)

From our opening scripture, we see that if the Lord is going to make you a ruler over His household, there are requirements. That requirement is for you to be faithful and wise. In other words, your faithfulness is a proof of your wisdom.

Therefore, your influence over God's household is tied to your faithfulness and your wisdom. What does it mean to be faithful? To be faithful means to be dependable, reliable and to be trustworthy.

This is because people will follow you to the measure that they trust you. Trust is your greatest commodity in leadership. You may have a great vision but if the people do not trust you they will not follow you.

Faithfulness also refers to consistency of character. That is doing the right thing at the right time. But doing the right thing at the right time is also wisdom. So you see that if you are faithful, it is a proof of wisdom. The Bible calls you a faithful and a wise servant.

So if you want to know if you are wise, the first thing is for you to ask yourself, “Am I faithful to God?” “Am I faithful to doing the right thing at the right time?” “Am I consistent in my character as a child of God and to integrity?” “Am I dependable, reliable and trustworthy?”

Your sincere answer to those questions above is a proof of your wisdom and how much you have allowed the wisdom of God to dominate you.

THE PRODUCT OF WISDOM

“The queen of Sheba heard Solomon's wisdom and saw the palace he had built. She saw the food that was served at his table, the living quarters for his officials, the organization of his palace staff and the uniforms they wore, the clothing of the servants who waited on him at feasts, and the sacrifices he offered in the Temple. It left her breathless and amazed.”                   2 Chronicles 9:3-4(GNB)

We see from our opening scripture that one of the proofs of wisdom is order. When the Queen of Sheba saw the order and the excellence with which the food was served, with which the houses were built, the organization of his staff, with their uniforms and the quality of their cloths and the sacrifices he offered to God, the excellence took her breath away.

That was the effect of order. Do you know that beauty is all about order? For example, if you see a person that has his nose by his ears, and his teeth outside of his mouth, that face will be out of order, and if it is out of order, it cannot be beautiful.

But when an individual or any object is well shaped and orderly, we all say that the individual or the object is beautiful because beauty is all about order.

The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 8:1(ASV) “… A man's wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the hardness of his face is changed.” This means that wisdom is able to change your looks and bring beauty to your appearance.

Therefore go for wisdom for it is able to produce excellence in all your affairs and even in your physical appearance.

DONT WASTE YOUR LIFE

“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”
Psalm 90:12(KJV).

There are three phases of your life. 0-30 is your learning years. 30-60 is your giving years and 60-90 are your rewarding years.

When I found out that from 0-30 are my learning years, I started reading. I applied my heart to wisdom. That was why I read the way I did as a student, because I was preparing for my future. I was asked one time by the librarian of my university as a student, “Why are you always reading?” Then I answered, “I want to be able to leave so much information for generations to come.” He looked at me and said, “What are you talking about?” I answered, “I have one life to live and it must not be wasted.”

If you are a young person reading this today, the question I will like to ask you is this, “Are you applying your heart to wisdom? Do you read? Do you take preparation for your future seriously?” Understand that you have just one life to live, don't waste it and don't give room for regrets.

Don't pursue vague ambitions that will not last. For instance, someone may say that his goal in life is to build the largest house in Nigeria. Twenty years from now, that house may not be among the first forty best houses.

Instead let wisdom guide your life, so that you can bless the world with new discoveries and witty inventions. And even in an hundred years to come, you will be remembered for that thing.

Therefore, live your life by intuitive intelligence. That is what will help you live a significant life, and make a mark that cannot be erased.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I ask that you reveal to me in clear terms your vision for my life and I receive grace from you today, to help me number my days that I may apply my heart to your wisdom always in Jesus Name. Amen.

THE ANTIDOTE TO FAILURE

“And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.”
Proverbs 24:4(KJV)

Knowledge is a knowing that gives you an edge. Everyone in the cutting edge in every field is doing well in their field because of knowledge.

There are three levels of revelation: Knowledge, understanding and wisdom. In stressing the importance of having knowledge, God says in Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge …” I want you to notice that they are His people yet they were destroyed because they lacked knowledge.

This shows you that the fact that you are a child of God does not necessarily mean that you will succeed if you don't know that you are supposed to succeed as a child of God.

The word destroyed in Hosea 4:6 means to be brought low. This means that your location in life is decided by your knowledge. This is because if you don't have knowledge, you will be brought low.

The word destroyed in Hosea 4:6 also means to be made dumb. In other words this means that the man without knowledge has no voice. This is because having knowledge would give you a voice.

Therefore, if you are going to be a voice in your field you must know more than anyone else in your field. So, you must be willing to research and improve on what you know.

The word destroyed in Hosea 4:6 also means to fail. So the reason children of God fail is because they lack knowledge. Therefore we can say that the greatest antidote to failure is knowledge.

PRAYER
Thank you dear Father for filling me with the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of you. I thank you for I am filled with all knowledge, understanding and wisdom in Jesus Name, Amen.

Increase your effectiveness

“Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.” Acts 6:3(KJV).

From our opening scripture, we see the requirement for leadership being stated, and one of those requirements is to be filled with the Holy Spirit and wisdom. This is because being filled with the Holy Spirit and wisdom ought to increase your effectiveness and productivity as a leader.

As a leader in any field, learning to raise new leaders and delegating to them  appropriately when it is required as a result of growth is a proof of wisdom on your part. Leaders who lack this wisdom will experience lots of stress, and they will later begin to become ineffective as leaders.

I remember reading a book where it was said that the heart of a 35 year old Pastor was tested and his heart was like the heart of a man who was more than 70 years of age. So, if you do not want that to happen to you, learn the value of raising leaders now, so that you can delegate to them when the need  arises. That is wisdom.

When you read the book of Numbers 11:14-15(CEV), Moses cried out to God saying, “This job is too much for me.

How can I take care of all these people by myself? If this is the way you're going to treat me, just kill me now and end my miserable life!” Do you know what God said when he replied Moses? God instructed him to delegate.

In Numbers 11:16-17 (KJV), “And the LORD said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee. And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.”

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for I know that you love me. I thank you for your wisdom is functioning in me to be able to choose the right people to train, and delegate to at the appropriate time for greater effectiveness and productivity in that which you have committed to my trust in Jesus Name. Amen.

THE NECESSITY OF WISDOM

“And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom,...”
Exodus 31:3(KJV)

Wisdom can be defined as accurate insight. So if you are functioning in wisdom, you should be minimizing your mistakes.

When you are functioning with accurate insight, you will be able to do things accurately without any formal training. For example in Genesis 41:33-36,  Joseph not only interpreted Pharaoh's dreams, he also was able to proffer how Pharaoh and the whole nation of Egypt should preserve food that will last for more than fourteen years. This is because the food will first be preserved and stored for the first seven years of plenty after which they will also have to last another seven years of famine when they will be used to sustain the whole of Egypt and all countries who also came to buy food from Egypt.

Joseph was able to know and do these things without any formal learning or training because the wisdom of God was at work in him giving him accurate insight and administrative intelligence.

whatever is given to you as we see in the life of Joseph in Genesis 39:4-6, “And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand. And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field. And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured.”

PRAYER

Where to get wisdom?

“For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.”
James 3:16-18(KJV)

From our opening scripture, we see that choosing to walk in envy and strife will bring about confusion and every evil work into our lives, homes, etc. But choosing to walk in wisdom will bring purity, peace, humility and every other good fruit into our lives, homes, etc.

Therefore it is important that you know that the measure of peace in your home is equivalent to your measure of wisdom. So if you want more peace in your home then increase in wisdom.

Where do I get wisdom? The Word of God will give you wisdom. Paul the Apostle told Timothy in 2 Timothy 3:15(ISV) “From infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures that are able to give you the wisdom you need for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.”

From the verse you just read, it is obvious to you that every wisdom you desire to live a productive, fruitful and perfect life can be found in the Word of God. This is because the Bible says the Scriptures, “… are able to give you the wisdom you need for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.”

Therefore, no matter the wisdom you lack, you can get it from the Word of God. Praise God.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you because as I give attention to your Word today and always, wisdom comes to me from your Word making me wise in the affairs of this life in Jesus Name. Amen.

HOW TO GET WISDOM

“But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding?”
Job 8:12(KJV)

In our opening scripture the question is asked, where shall wisdom be found? In Job 28:13, God's Word translation lets us know that this is not a search for human or natural wisdom because it says; “No mortal knows where it is. It cannot be found in this world of the living.”

This is a search for a wisdom that is not easily encountered. “It can't be bought with the finest gold; no amount of silver can get it. Even famous Ophir gold can't buy it, not even diamonds and sapphires. Neither gold nor emeralds are comparable; extravagant jewelry can't touch it. Pearl necklaces and ruby bracelets--why bother? None of this is even a down payment on Wisdom! Pile gold and African diamonds as high as you will, they can't hold a candle to Wisdom.” Job 28:15-19(MSG)

This wisdom is intuitive intelligence inspired by the working of God's Spirit in an individual. So how do you get such wisdom? The Bible says in Job 28:21-23(MSG), “It can't be found by looking, no matter how deep you Dig, no matter how high you fly. If you search through the graveyard and question the dead, they say, 'We've only heard rumors of it.”
God alone knows the way to Wisdom, he knows the exact place to find it.”

God is the only one who knows the source of true wisdom and where it can be found. This is why the Bible says in Proverbs 9:10, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: …” Therefore, to contract this wisdom, you must be born again. That is where true wisdom begins. So if you are not born again please pray the prayer below and contract the wisdom of God.

Say out loud: “O God, I believe in Jesus Christ. I believe that He is the Son of God. I believe that He died for my sins. I believe with all my heart that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead on the third day for my justification. I confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is my Lord. I take Him as my Lord and personal Savior. Jesus, come into my heart, make me a new person. I receive eternal life into my spirit even now. In Jesus Name.  I declare as a child of God that Christ has become my wisdom. I have intuitive intelligence and mental sagacity that surpasses all human intelligence in Jesus Name. Amen.”

Administrative insight.

“Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven plenteous years.”
Genesis 41:34(KJV)

Wisdom is administrative insight. This wisdom(administrative insight) was evident in the life of Joseph who interpreted Pharaoh's dream and then told him what he needed to do to store up enough grain that will last through the years of famine.

In Genesis 41:33 Joseph said, “Now therefore let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.” Notice that Joseph recommended that the man who should be set over the land must be a discreet and wise man. This should let you know that if you want to be promoted in what you do(ie in your job or business), you must go for wisdom.

Joseph who has never done what he recommends and he had never managed a country before, went on to say in Genesis 41:34-37, “Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven plenteous years. And let them gather all the food of those good years that come, and lay up corn under the hand of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities.

And that food shall be for store to the land against the seven years of famine, which shall be in the land of Egypt; that the land perish not through the famine. And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants.”

When you closely observe Joseph's recommendation to Pharaoh, you will agree that he spoke as someone filled with administrative insight and wisdom because of how quantitative and qualitative his counsel was.

Therefore, the measure of wisdom in you is what decides your administrative capacity.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I ask that you give unto me administrative insight with quantitative and qualitative abilities for greater efficiency and productivity. I believe I receive such wisdom right now in Jesus Name. Amen.

WISDOM - Chakam

“Now therefore let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.”
Genesis 41:33(KJV)

From our opening scripture, Joseph counseled Pharaoh to get a man discreet and wise and set him over the land of Egypt.

The word 'wise' as used in the context of our opening scripture that Joseph was talking about is from the Hebrew word, 'chakam.' It is translated wise, intelligent, skillful,  add ful, cunning, subtle, wiser.

To explain this word further, it refers to being skillful in technical work. So if you are going to do well on your job, this wisdom is what you need.

Chakam also means to be wise in administration. Wisdom in this context means having administrative intelligence. Therefore, if you are managing anything no matter how small, you need wisdom.

Chakam also means to be ethically or religiously wise. From this context, we can define wisdom as ethical intuition. We see this wisdom(ethical intuition) at work in the life of Joseph because of what he did when Pharaoh called for him.

The Bible said in Genesis 41:14, “Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh.”

Appearance matters. Notice the two things Joseph did immediately he was brought out of prison. These things was a proof he had ethical intuition at work in him; he shaved himself and changed his clothes. This shows you that wisdom refines you.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for a release of the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of you into my life. I thank you for You have made me wise, intelligent, skillful, add ful, cunning, subtle, wiser in Jesus Name. Amen.

Wisdom- The intelligence of the Spirit.

“Now therefore let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.”
Genesis 41:33(KJV)

When you have wisdom at work in you, it refines your speech. You will know the right answer to give everyone that you meet.

This was evident in the life of Joseph when he stood before Pharaoh, the Bible says in Genesis 41:15-16, “And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it: and I have heard say of thee, that thou canst understand a dream to interpret it. And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace.”

Joseph was not braggadocios. He knew how to speak wisely because he had ethical intuition at work in him.

Wisdom is “intuitive intelligence inspired by the working of God's Spirit in an individual.” This was seen in the life of Joseph because when Pharaoh told Joseph his dream, Joseph didn't pray but yet he knew the interpretation.

How did he know it? It was supernaturally inspired by the working of God's Spirit inside of him and he knew the right answer to give instantly.

Therefore, wisdom is the outworking of the intelligence of the Spirit. So if you are functioning by wisdom, there should be some measure of intelligence and ethical behavior evident in your life.

PRAYER
Thank you dear Father for the outworking of the Spirit of wisdom in my life granting me intuitive intelligence and ethical intuition in all my affairs in Jesus Name. Amen.

WISDOM IS SPIRITUAL

“Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:”
Ephesians 1:16-17(KJV)

From our opening scripture, Paul the Apostle prayed for the Ephesian Church to have the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God. This therefore proves to us that wisdom is a spiritual thing.

Wisdom is not physical.  It is spiritual. Wisdom is different from information. Information is the transference of knowledge. For instance, you can get knowledge from reading a book, but wisdom is spiritual because wisdom is received by divine insight.

Wisdom refines character. In James 3:13 the Bible says, “Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.” Here we see that one of the signs of wisdom is meekness, which is humility.

James 3:14-15 says, “But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.” In other words, the Bible is saying to you that if you allow envying and strife or anger into your life, it will corrupt your wisdom.

When people expose themselves to bitter envying and strife, they start having wicked(devilish) ideas. This is because, their wisdom has been corrupted. Therefore, I encourage you to protect your heart from bitter envying, and strife so that God's wisdom can flow through you without being corrupted.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of you is at work in me today in the name of Jesus. I receive divine insight into every hidden detail that has to do with my life in Jesus Name. Amen.

REIGN BY WISDOM

“By me kings reign, and princes decree justice. By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.”
Proverbs 8:15-16(KJV)

God has made every Christian a king and a prince but it is important for you to know that you can only reign by wisdom. This is why some Christians are not reigning, it is because they are not functioning by wisdom.

Wisdom is organized intelligence. Wisdom is knowing; 1. What to do. 2. Why to do. 3. When to do. 4. How to do. 5. With whom to do. Therefore, we can say that wisdom is insight plus foresight. When wisdom is functioning in your life as insight, it helps you to know what to do now. When it is functioning as foresight it helps you to know what to do tomorrow or in the future.

For instance, Joseph interpreted Pharaoh's dream, that is wisdom as insight. Then when he set up a plan for the future that is wisdom as foresight.

Therefore, wisdom is knowing what to do right now as you plan and prepare for tomorrow.

Your measure of wisdom is what decides your measure of trust. That was why Pharaoh was able to trust his entire nation to Joseph. It was because Joseph had wisdom. So Joseph reigned as a king and he was able to decree justice as a prince in Egypt because he chose to function by the wisdom of God in him.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I choose the way of wisdom.  Therefore, I thank you for divine insight and foresight is at work in me, letting me know what to do, why to do, when to do, how to do, and with whom to do that which you have called me to do in Jesus Name Amen.

THE MASTER BUILDER

“Through wisdom is a house built …”
Proverbs 24:3(KJV)

The Bible lets us know that it is through wisdom a house is built. That house being built can be your life, your business, your family, your ministry or even your future.

Therefore, wisdom is the foundation for anything that will last. Proverb 3:19(GW) says, “By Wisdom the LORD laid the foundation of the earth…” Therefore, I encourage you to build your life on wisdom, let her be your foundation.

So what is wisdom? Job 28:28(CEV) says, “God told us, "Wisdom means that you respect me, the Lord, and turn from sin."” The King James Version puts it this way, “… Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.”

So if you want this rare wisdom that is not easily encountered to build the foundation of your life and all that concerns you, you must have the fear of God. In other words, you must esteem the Word of God above all else and be willing to do what He says always.

You cannot be living in sin and be functioning and founded in divine wisdom. Rather it is wisdom for you to turn away from sin and to depart from evil is understanding.

So, if you are reading this devotional, and you are not born again or, you are a backslider, I encourage you today to choose the way of wisdom so that your life can be rightly founded and built on the wisdom of God.

Please pray this prayer: “O God, I believe in Jesus Christ. I believe that He is the Son of God. I believe that He died for my sins. I believe with all my heart that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead on the third day for my justification. I confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is my Lord. The principal thing.

“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” Proverbs 4:7(KJV)

Wisdom is a very important virtue in our lives. The bible says in our opening scripture that, “Wisdom is the principal thing; . . .” The Good News Bible puts it this way, “Getting wisdom is the most important thing you can do.”
This shows us that if you do not prioritize wisdom in your life, it means that you have prioritized wrongly.
Prioritizing wisdom is the key because wisdom is fundamental to your success. If you are in business, or whatever you do, wisdom is fundamental to your success. Having wisdom is very important in every of our life’s endeavor. Even to raise and build a godly home, you need to have wisdom.
Wisdom in Proverbs 4:7 refers to good sense of skill. It also refers to wisdom in administration, prudence, skill in war, etc.
Therefore, it is obvious that the reason why people are defeated in life is because they lack wisdom.
Wisdom is greater than knowledge. Knowledge is the acquisition of facts from getting information but wisdom is the right use of knowledge. Wisdom is what will help you use the knowledge you have to your advantage. Therefore, get wisdom.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for your wisdom is working in me, and giving me advantage in life. I thank you for I am filled with all prudence and skill in all my life’s endeavors in Jesus Name. Amen.
