Impartation by laying hands

"For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;"

Romans 1:11

Our opening scripture shows us that impartation is intentional. The word impart above means to give away. Do you know that spiritual graces and gifts can be transferred to you through the laying on of hands? The Bible tells us in Deuteronomy 34:9, "And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the LORD commanded Moses." Joshua received the spirit of wisdom and was full of the Spirit because Moses laid hands on him. There is an impartation that takes place whenever hands are laid on you.

Through the laying on of hands, you can receive a divine impartation of the Spirit that can change your life and take you to a high realm of the Spirit. I was in a meeting almost twenty years ago in Delta State where an Apostle from the United States of America was invited to. Prior to that time, I had already read some of his books. Before the close of the meeting, this particular minster I respect and his associate began laying hands on everyone in the meeting. I wanted him to lay hands on me and I had prayed about it in my heart. God answered my prayer and He laid hands on me.

After he laid hands on me, something happened to me. There was an impartation. When I got home, I just started writing, I wrote for hours the things that the Holy Spirit laid in my heart. What had happened to me? He imparted to me his gift. He was a prolific writer and that grace was imparted to me that day when he laid hands on me. In 1Timothy 4:14 Paul said, "Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery."

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you for all the impartations I have received through the years through the laying on of hands. I ask that you stir up these deposits and graces that are in me so that I may be established in your will in Jesus Name. Amen.

Change by the Word

"Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord."

2 Corinthians 3:17-18

We see from our opening scripture that the Holy Spirit changes us in proportion to the Word of God we are exposed to. The glass in the scripture above refers to the Word of God.

In 2 Corinthians 3:2 Paul said, "Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:" Paul was saying here that these people in this Church had become his message. How is that possible? It is because you become what you are taught. Your life takes on the character of the information you receive.

That is why Christians who are brought up in circles where they do not understand their dominion in Christ are under oppression consistently. Some are still struggling with generational curses that Jesus has taken care of on the cross. You are the product of what you hear. Paul said in 2 Corinthians 3:3, "Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart."

Whatever teaching you are exposed to is what the Holy Spirit will manifest in your life. If you sit under the message of faith, faith will be imparted to you. If you sit under the message of the blessing, that is what the Holy Spirit will reproduce in your life. This was why God told Joshua in Joshua 1:8, "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success." Your success in life is proportionate to the Word of God in you.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you because whenever I receive your Word, the light of the glorious knowledge of Jesus shines upon my heart giving me insight and revelation into your Word always, in Jesus Name, Amen.

Be a true worshipper.

"God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."

John 4:24

One thing the Lord taught me when I just got restored to Christ was to live for His purpose. Secondly, He taught me to do all I do according to the leading of His Spirit. I was a new convert when the Holy Spirit began to teach me these things.

The Lord taught me that if I did all I did for Him from my mind and the flesh, all my efforts will be useless. I was only seventeen years old when the Lord began to teach me these things.

It is important that you learn early how to live for your purpose and to do all you do for the Lord by the leading of God's Spirit so that you will not regret like the man who at the age of sixty, was told by God that he had lived outside of God's plan for his life. Others in the body of Christ saw him as a great man of God because of his achievements but that was not God's perspective of him.

Everything you do as a Christian should be by the Spirit. What that means is that everything you do should be done from your heart with sincerity of purpose. The Bible says in John 4:23, "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him."

You can practice religion and carry out religious activities like praying, singing, giving, etc. without any heartfelt involvement, but you cannot be a true worshipper without the involvement of your heart in everything you do. I encourage you today not to be a religious Christian, but be a true worshipper, they are the ones the Father seeks to worship Him.

Spirtual understanding.

"But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."

1 Corinthians 2:14

Our opening scripture shows us that the natural man cannot know the things of the Spirit of God because they are spiritually understood. Because he cannot understand it, he cannot receive it. Therefore, the key to receiving is understanding. For instance, I understand giving and receiving. I know that when I sow my seed, there will definitely be a harvest. It is based on my understanding.

The natural man in our opening scripture is referring to the man that is governed by his thinking or natural reasoning. Such a man is not governed by the Word of God. There are lots of people whose thoughts are not governed by the Word of God. For instance, in Matthew 16:23 (ISV) when Jesus rebuked Peter, He said, "… "Get behind me, Satan! You are an offense to me, for you are not thinking God's thoughts but human thoughts!"" This shows us that the realm of the senses is where satan operates. So, if you are going to gain the victory over satan, you must learn to function from the Spirit.

The Bible says, "But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: …" Notice that the Bible did not say that the things of the Spirit of God are foolishness, they are not foolish, they are the wisdom of God, but it is foolishness to the natural man because he cannot think the way God thinks. For instance, the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 1:18, "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God." 1 Corinthians 1:25 says, "… the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men." The things of the Spirit of God that may look foolish to the natural man are the wisdom of God, while the things of the Spirit of God that look weak to the natural man are stronger than men. Always think and see things from God's perspective. This is consistent with the Word of God. That is how to walk consistently in the realm of the Spirit.

Understanding the new creation 2

"Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more."

2 Corinthians 5:16

From our opening scripture, we see that the man in Christ has lost all his affiliations to the flesh. Therefore, as a Christian, if you are Yoruba, Ibo or Izon, it is your flesh that is Yoruba, Ibo or Izon. Your spirit which is the real you has no tribe just as it has no gender.

Galatians 3:26-28 says, "For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus." Now that you are a Christian, you have put on Christ. There is no longer Yoruba, Ibo, Hausa or Izon. The Bible says we are all one in Christ Jesus.

When we get to heaven as Christians we will all speak one language, the language of Christ. There is no Yoruba or Ibo side of heaven. Because of this, the Bible says to us in 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." It is important you understand that the day you were born again, a new creature was born that has no link to your past. This new creature has all the virtues and potentials of Christ in him. He does not have the capacity to fail. He was born to succeed.

As a new creature, no matter what comes against you, say like the Apostle Paul in Romans 8:37, "Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us." Renew your mind to this understanding of who you are as a new creature. That is the key to your consistent victory in Christ.

Confession.

In the Name of Jesus, I declare that I am in Christ. I am a new creation, my old moral and spiritual condition has passed away. Behold, I live and walk in the newness of life. Amen!

Understanding the new creation 1.

"For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith."

1 John 5:4

Understanding that you have been born of God gives you victory over the world as a Christian. It is the key to consistent victory in your life. When you understand this truth there will be no more defeat for you in your life.

You have to understand that just as the natural man is born with his father's DNA, so also the new creation has God's DNA inside him. In Acts 17:28-29 Paul said that, "For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, …"

1 Peter 1:23 says, "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever." You were born of the Word just as Jesus was born of the Word. The Bible shows us in John 1:14, "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, …" When the angel brought the Word to Mary and she believed it, that Word from God affected her womb and she conceived by the anointing of the Holy Spirit. It is the same experience with every Christian. The day you responded to the Word of salvation that you heard, the Word of God and the Spirit reacted on your spirit and a divine being was produced inside of you. Amen.

Now that we have been born of the Word, it means that every virtue and character that is in the Word of God is inside us.

Confession.

I believe with all my heart and I confess that Jesus Christ is my Lord. His death paid for all my sins. He was raised again on the third for my justification. Therefore eternal life has being imparted into my spirit. I am created anew, born again by the Word of God which lives and abides forever. Amen.

Born of the Spirit

"Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." John 3:3,

Being born again is actually the rebirth of the human spirit. When we say that an individual is born again, we are saying that his spirit has received the life and nature of God.

John 1:12-13 says, "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." The day you got born again was the day you got born of God. There was an actual rebirth of your human spirit. That was also the day the man or woman that was born of your mother died. This is why you have to renew your mind because a lot of Christians are unaware of what it really means to be born again. The knowledge of what it really means to be born again is what sets people free from generational curses and whatever bondage they have been experiencing.

Galatians 2:20 says, "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me." Colossians 3:2-3 says, "Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God."

In 2002 God spoke to me saying, "Understanding the new birth is the key to victory." Then He said, "Until the body of Christ accepts the message of the new creation, it will keep on going around in circles."

Confession.

I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ (the Messiah) lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

Why you must grow 2

"Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;"

Galatians 4:1

Our opening scripture shows that you can be a child as long as you want to be. The word 'child' is from the Greek word 'nepios.' A nepios refers to an infant or someone who is childish in thinking. Have you met such adults? Their bodies grew but their minds did not grow. Therefore, as long as a Christian remains a child in his thinking, he is not different from a servant. In other words, he will not be able to fully take advantage of His inheritance.

The Bible tells us in Galatians 4:2, "But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father." In the school of the Spirit, you are never promoted until you pass. You can remain in a class for thirty years as long as you refuse to grow. This is why you must ensure that you never become dull of hearing as a Christian. What does it mean to be dull of hearing? Are you slow and sluggish in your response to spiritual things? Are you slow in understanding the Word of God? Does God continue to teach you the same thing over and over again? If you have all these symptoms it means that you are dull of hearing.

Jesus told Kenneth Hagin that many live and die and never enter into the first phase of His plan for their lives. As great as Kenneth Hagin was, it took him about fifteen to twenty years to enter into the first phase. Why? He assumed God's plan for him and became a Pastor, meanwhile God's plan for him was to be a Prophet and Teacher. So the part of his life when he was Pastoring was not part of God's plan for his life, if he had died then, it would have been as though he never lived.

This is why it is important for you to grow. As you grow spiritually, your spiritual senses would become alert for you to be able to discern and understand God's will and His plan and purpose for your life more accurately. 1 Corinthians 13:11 says, "When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things."

Prayer.

Why you must grow 1.

"Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;"

Galatians 4:1

The Bible is teaching us from our opening scripture that we cannot function in the fullness of our authority in Christ unless we grow. If you don't grow, you will be limited in your spiritual life. You will be weak and God will not be able to do much with your life.

The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 4:16, "For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day." This shows us that there ought to be a daily renewal in our spirits. In other words we ought to be growing daily. If you are going to grow daily, then you must know that spiritual growth is intentional. There must be things that you do daily for your spiritual growth.

Spiritual growth requires a regimen. You must organize yourself for growth. Most of the challenges some Christians are experiencing in their lives is because they are not growing. The more you grow the more victories you will experience. So, you can actually measure your growth. Are you still struggling with the same bad habits and oppressions you had five or ten years ago? It is because you have not grown.

As you grow, the limitations will be broken off your mind. You will begin to think and talk differently. Your words will be more consistent with the Word of God. Your understanding of the Word of God will be deepening. You will stop the bad habits because your desires to satisfy the cravings of the flesh will weaken.

Therefore I encourage you to meditate on the Word of God daily for your spiritual nourishment and growth.

Grow up spiritually

"But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night."

Psalm 1:2(AMP)

Your spiritual appetite is an indication of your spiritual health. Naturally, how do you know someone is sick? He loses his appetite for physical food. In the same way, if you do not have appetite for the Word of God, you are spiritually sick. This is because the Word of God is food.

Jesus said in Matthew 4:4, "... It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." It is evident from this verse that bread is food for the outward man, while the Word of God is food for the inward man; your spirit which is the real you.

If all you do is to read the Bible and memorize it, you are not going to grow spiritually. You will not grow spiritually by memorization. You grow spiritually by meditating on the Word of God. Memorization is getting the Word of God into your mind.

Meditation is getting the Word of God into your spirit. That is why you can memorize the Bible all the years of your life and never change. You remain with the same bad habits, oppression and struggles because you are not growing. A lot of people feel that the long period they have being born again and going to church is equivalent to spiritual growth. No sir.

You grow spiritually by meditating and feeding your spirit with the Word of God. 1 Timothy 4:15 says, "Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all."

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you because your Word is producing in me what it talks about even as I meditate on it, in Jesus Name. Amen.

Doing the Word

Get a scripture in the Bible that the Holy Spirit impresses in your heart and meditate on it.

Knowing what is prepared

"But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him."

1 Corinthians 2:9

Our opening scripture shows us that the things that God has prepared for those that love Him are not revealed to the senses.

1 Corinthians 2:10 shows us how these things that God has prepared for those that love Him are revealed. He says, "But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God." God reveals the things He has prepared by the Holy Spirit. This is why it is important for you to learn about the Holy Spirit, how to fellowship with Him and how to follow His instructions so that He can guide you into your inheritance and all the things that God has prepared you.

1 Corinthians 2:11 says, "For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God." The things of God can only be revealed to you by the Holy Spirit Himself. In John 14:26 Jesus said, "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." The Holy Spirit is your Teacher. The Bible says that He will teach you all things. The Holy Spirit is also your memory box because the Bible says He will bring to your remembrance whatsoever He has said unto you.

1 Corinthians 2:12 says, "Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God."

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you for giving me the Holy Spirit who reveals to me the deep things of God. I know all things because the Holy Spirit is my teacher. I do not forget because the Holy Spirit is my memory box. He brings to my remembrance all that you have said unto me, in Jesus Name. Amen.

Measure your love.

"If ye love me, keep my commandments."

John 14:15

In the kingdom of God, love for God or Jesus is measured by obedience. Love is not measured by singing, neither is it measured by dancing. It is measured by obedience.

John 14:21 says, "He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: …" Jesus is teaching us here that we can know those who love Him by their attitude to the Word of God. James 1:22 says, "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." You cannot claim to be a lover of God when you are not a doer of the Word. So long as I am a doer of the Word of God, I am expressing my love to God. A continual expression of obedience to the Word of God in my daily life is the expression of my love to God.

Today, you have learnt that the true expression of your love to the Father or Jesus is obedience. The concluding part of John 14:21 shows us the blessing that is given to the one who loves Jesus. Jesus said, "… he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him." God taught me a principle many years ago that consecration is what determines access. Your consecration to God in a life of consistent obedience is what will determine your access to special revelations from Him. This means that you can never receive divine revelation beyond your consecration.

If you claim to love God and you are not doing His Word and obeying the voice of the Spirit of God, you cannot claim to love Him. Genuine love for God obligates us to obey Him. When you become a doer of the Word of God, there are certain anointing and graces that will become manifested in your life. John 14:23(AMP) says, "Jesus answered, If a person [really] loves Me, he will keep My word [obey My teaching]; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home (abode, special dwelling place) with him."

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you for grace to love you more in consistent obedience to your Word and the voice of the Spirit. Thank you for increase in revelation and the burden-removing and yoke destroying power manifested in and through my life, in Jesus Name, Amen

Function in understanding

"When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart…"

Matthew 13:19

You cannot receive what you do not know, and whatever you receive that you do not know you will eventually lose. This means that you cannot sustain anything that you receive without understanding. If you function in an anointing without understanding it, you will not be able to sustain the manifestation of that grace on your life.

Our opening scripture also shows us that satan is after the Word of God. We also see that the Word that you understand is the Word that you keep. It is the Word of God you understand that you will know. Therefore knowledge is your only security against deception. This is why Paul said in 1 Corinthians 12:1, "Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant." God does not want you to be ignorant concerning spiritual gifts because if you are ignorant concerning spiritual gifts you will not be able to see their manifestations in your life.

You cannot take advantage of what you do not know. If you are a child of God, it is important you know that the power of God's Spirit has been given to you for the benefit of all. 1 Corinthians 12:7 says, "But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal."

The Bible says in Acts 10:38, "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him." Acts 1:8 says concerning us, "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." This means that the day you received the Holy Spirit you received all the power of God into you to produce the same works that Jesus did when He walked on earth. Walk with this understanding and you will begin to see more of His power manifested through your life.

Confession

In the Name of Jesus, I declare that I have the Holy Spirit, therefore I have received power. The Spirit of the LORD rests upon me, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.

Function in the grace that you have received.

Sunday 15 February 2015

"The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you."

John 14:17(AMP)

In August 2002, the Holy Spirit said to me, "If you will recognize me as a person, I will thrust you ahead of those you envy." Do you recognize the Holy Spirit as a person? The Holy Spirit is a person and He wants us to recognize and relate with Him with that understanding. He is not a thing, that is why Jesus never related to the Holy Spirit as 'it.' Jesus always addressed the Holy Spirit using the pronoun 'He' as we see in our opening scripture because He is a person.

The Bible reveals to us that the Holy Spirit is a person because He has a mind. We see this in Romans 8:27(AMP) which says, "And He Who searches the hearts of men knows what is in the mind of the [Holy] Spirit …" Also, the Bible shows us that the Holy Spirit is a person because He has emotions. The Bible says concerning the Holy Spirit in Ephesians 4:30(AMP) saying, "And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God [do not offend or vex or sadden Him], …"

Paul and Barnabas recognized the Holy Spirit as a person and they recognized Him as the One who sent them into the ministry. In Acts 13:4 the Bible says, "So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus."

That same Holy Spirit wants to walk with you today. Jesus said in our opening scripture, "… He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you." Just recognize His person and His presence today. Ask Him to fill you with Himself and His presence. Peter speaking in Acts 2:38-39 said, "… Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call."

"But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future]." John 16:13(AMP)

Our opening scripture reveals to us that the Holy Spirit does not speak His own message, but He speaks what He hears from the Father. Therefore, whatever the Holy Spirit is saying to us is what the Father is saying to us.

The Bible says in Acts 13:2, "As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them." This meant that the Father had called Barnabas and Saul for a work. The Holy Spirit was the One that guided them into that truth concerning their destiny in God.

He is still carrying out that ministry today. He will guide you into all truth concerning any issue. In Acts 10, it was the Holy Spirit that guided Peter into the truth that the plan of salvation included the Gentiles.

The Bible shows us this in Acts 10:19-20(AMP), "And while Peter was earnestly revolving the vision in his mind and meditating on it, the [Holy] Spirit said to him, Behold, three men are looking for you! Get up and go below and accompany them without any doubt [about its legality] or any discrimination or hesitation, for I have sent them."

Follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in your life as a child of God and He will always guide you into all truth concerning every area of your life and He will show you things to come.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you for I am filled with the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of you. I am guided into all truth concerning all that concerns me even as you show me things to come by the power of your Spirit at work in me, in Jesus Name. Amen.

The ministry of the Spirit.

"But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: …"

1 Corinthians 2:9-10

Our opening scripture shows us that the things of God are revealed to us by the Holy Spirit. If you want to know God or the operations of God, then you must have a relationship and fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

In John 16:13 the Bible says, "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come." This shows us that fellowship and relationship with the Holy Spirit are the keys to minimizing your errors.

There is a ministry of the Holy Spirit in every believer to guide him into all truth and to show him things to come. Therefore without a genuine relationship and fellowship with the Holy Spirit, you would not go far spiritually. This is because the Holy Spirit is the One that the Father has assigned to bring us up spiritually.

Jesus said in John 14:16-17, "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you." The Holy Spirit has being assigned to help you fulfill your destiny. He is your Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you for the ministry of the Holy Spirit in me. He gives me counsel, and helps me in the fulfillment of God's destiny for my life. He helps me to pray in line with your will always. He is my advocate and He strengthens me with might in my inward man, even as I enjoy His abiding presence with me always, in Jesus Name. Amen.

Be Spirit concious

"And when they had come opposite Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not permit them."

Acts 16:17(AMP)

In our opening scripture, we see that Paul and those with him wanted to go and do something good. They wanted to go and preach the gospel to those in Bithynia, but the Holy Spirit did not permit them. I wonder how many Christian missionaries and ministers have been restrained by the Holy Spirit, but because they were not Spirit conscious, their lives were lost in the line of duty.

You have to be Spirit - conscious and learn to always obey the promptings and nudges of the Spirit because not many of God's children are Spirit conscious today. The more you obey the promptings of the Spirit in your life, the more powerful His influence will be over you.

I want you to realize this if you are born again, that the Holy Spirit lives inside your spirit with all His wisdom. All the power of the Holy Spirit is in your spirit. The anointing is not a feeling, the anointing is a person. That means you are anointed if the Holy Spirit dwells in you because He is the person of the anointing . In Acts 10:38 the Bible says, "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him."

The Bible says in John 1:16, "And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace." In the same way that Jesus was completely filled with the Holy Spirit without measure, we also by His grace for grace have received of His fullness. Now we have access to the same quality of guidance and power that Jesus had when He walked on earth. Do not take it for granted.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you for by your grace I have received of the fullness of your Spirit and access to the quality of guidance and power that Jesus walked in when He walked on earth. I ask that the influence of the Holy Spirit will increase in my life even as I decrease in Jesus Name, Amen.

Follow the promptings of the Spirit.

"Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,"

Acts 16:6

I want you to notice in our opening scripture that the Holy Ghost forbade Paul and those with him from preaching the Word in Asia. How did Paul know? He knew because He was attuned to the Holy Spirit. He didn't just do things because he wanted to do them; he did the things he did because he was led by the Holy Spirit to do them.

Do not carry out ministry or service in the house of God from your senses or from human reasoning. These are the things that get those who are unlearned in the things of God confused sometimes, because they are not sensitive to the guidance of the Spirit; their minds are only occupied by fleshly reasoning, so they see things only from human perspective. For instance, we do not just carry out any idea because it is a good idea. We follow the leading of the Spirit in whatever we do, not our heads or the ideas of men. This is because some things can be forbidden by the Holy Spirit at certain times.

About fifteen years ago, I know a Pastor that was to travel to Delta State because of a meeting. The Spirit of God instructed him not to go till the next day, but he felt it will be too late because he was going there with the publicity for the meeting. As he embarked on the journey to Delta state, robbers attacked on the way. Immediately he heard the gun shot, he repented for disobeying that divine instruction not to travel and God rescued him. He was not robbed and nothing was taken from him. I want you to understand that zeal cannot override the leading of God’s Spirit. If he had obeyed the divine instruction, that wouldn't have happened. This teaches us a valuable lesson; that we should always adhere to divine instructions and the promptings of the Holy Spirit.

Whenever you feel that sensing in your spirit not to go to some place you have scheduled to go, don't go. When the Holy Spirit forbids you from doing something, don't try to reason it out just obey.

Prayer:

Dear Father, I thank you for grace to always obey divine instructions and to submit to the promptings of the Spirit always in Jesus Name. Amen.

Serve with your heart.

"Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me,"

Matthew 15:7-9

Our opening scripture shows us that worship that is not from the heart is empty. Scripturally, your heart refers to your spirit. This emphasizes to us that whatever you do for God must come from your heart, because if it is not coming from your heart, there will be no reward.

Those Christians who do not understand these things and do not truly worship and serve God from their hearts will get to heaven and discover there that all they did for God will be burnt because they never came from their hearts.

Romans 7:6 (GNB) says, "… No longer do we serve in the old way of a written law, but in the new way of the Spirit." Serve God with your spirit which refers to your heart. Examine yourself, how have you been serving God? Do you do the things you do in the house of God from your spirit? In other words, do you do it with all your heart? If you are not serving God with all your heart, know that there is no reward for such service. Jesus said all such services are in vain.

Everything the Apostle Paul did, he did it from his spirit. He said in Acts 20:20(GNB), "And now, in obedience to the Holy Spirit I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there." In the Amplified it says, "… I am going to Jerusalem, bound by the [Holy] Spirit and obligated and compelled by the [convictions of my own] spirit, not knowing what will befall me there--" Always follow the promptings and guidance of the Spirit in your service to God because if you are going to get divine results, then you must follow divine guidance.

Be passionate for the Spirit

"For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit."

Romans 8:5

What things are you after as a child of God? Are you driven by fleshly desires or the passions of the spirit? Be driven by the passions of the spirit. Be driven by the things that please God. Daniel was a man that was driven by the passions of the spirit. The Bible says concerning him in Daniel 1:8, "But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself."

Therefore, because Daniel and his friends were after the things of the Spirit, the Bible tells us in Daniel 1:17-20, "As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. Now at the end of the days that the king had said he should bring them in, then the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar. And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore

stood they before the king. And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm."

God is able to make you ten times better than all your peers, contemporaries and competitors, if only you will be after the things of the Spirit. Excellence and creativity flow from your spirit. So, as you are passionate after God and those things that please Him, the excellence and creativity in your spirit are enhanced more and more until you become a wonder and a standard to your world.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I receive grace for consistency to you and to the disciplines of your Spirit. As I thirst after you and those things that please you, may excellence and creativity be augmented in me, making me ten times better than all my peers, contemporaries and competitors in Jesus Name. Amen.

Be guided from your spirit

"But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding."

Job 32:8

God guides you from your spirit. This is why you need to know how to function and flow in the spirit so that you can receive guidance from your spirit. Some of God's children want to receive guidance from God by hearing an audible voice, but God doesn't always speak in an audible voice. He guides you most times through your spirit.

When Jesus walked this earth, He said in John 5:19, "… The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise." Jesus lived from His Spirit. Whatever He saw the Father do, that was what He did. It is the same way God expects us to live our lives today. He wants us to live from our spirit, not just from our head or senses. Let God guide you in your decisions and actions in the pursuits of your life. That is the only way you can always be in step with God every day.

Why did Jesus go into the wilderness to fast and pray for forty days? The Bible says in Luke 4:1, "And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness," Do you know you can be led by the Spirit in your daily walk with God? Romans 8:14 says, "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God." Always seek the leading of the Spirit in all that has to do with you because that is the realm that we have been called to walk in.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you because my heart is sensitive to the leading and guidance of your Spirit today in all that has to do with me. I will be at the right place at the right time and the abilities of God will flow through me today in Jesus Name, Amen.

Live from your spirit

"The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him."

Zachariah 12:1

You are not just flesh and blood. The Bible says in our opening scripture that God "…formeth the spirit of man within him." The real you is inside your body, and that real you is your spirit. Your body is your house. You live in your body.

Job 4:18-19(AMP) says, "Even in His [heavenly] servants He puts no trust or confidence, and His angels He charges with folly and error-- How much more those who dwell in houses (bodies) of clay, whose foundations are in the dust, who are crushed like the moth." The body is referred to here as a house of clay. So your body is not the real you. You live inside your body.

Your spirit is the real you and the part of you that is supposed to govern the body and the soul. To let your body govern you is to live in the flesh. Romans 8:12-14(AMP) says, "So then, brethren, we are debtors, but not to the flesh [we are not obligated to our carnal nature], to live [a life ruled by the standards set up by the dictates] of the flesh. For if you live according to [the dictates of] the flesh, you will surely die. But if through the power of the [Holy] Spirit you are [habitually] putting to death (making extinct, deadening) the [evil] deeds prompted by the body, you shall [really and genuinely] live forever. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God."

Serve God with your spirit

"For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, …"

Romans 1:9

Our opening scripture shows us that the primary way by which we serve God is with our spirit. We don't just serve God by the activities we engage ourselves with in the house of God. If your spirit is not involved in your service to God, it is not accepted by Him because it will only be coming from your flesh. The Bible tells us in Romans 8:8, "So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God."

When you worship God from your flesh without that worship coming from your spirit, it is unacceptable to God. God’s power will not be manifested because it is only with your spirit you are able to connect to God.

The Bible says in Romans 2:28-29, "For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God." This shows us that the natural Jew is circumcised in the flesh, but there is the spiritual Jew whose circumcision is of the heart; in the spirit.

Your heart according to the scriptures, refers to your spirit.

Therefore, whatever you do in God's house that is not coming from your heart is not proceeding from your spirit. So, if you want to sing a song in worship to the Lord, sing from your heart. If you are to preach a message, preach from your heart. Whatever you do for God, let it come from your heart, otherwise, it will be useless and unacceptable to Him.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I ask that as I serve you from my spirit; with all my heart, may all my service and worship to you be acceptable to you sanctified of the Holy Spirit in Jesus Name, Amen.

The faculties of the spirit

"For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh."

Philippians 3:3

Today I will like to let you know that there are three faculties of the spirit. Firstly, your spirit has an organ called the conscience. Your conscience is your inward monitor. In Romans 9:1 Paul said, "I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost," Secondly, your spirit has the faculty of intuition. This means that God is able to teach you and guide you through your spirit. In Proverbs 20:27 the Bible says, "The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly."

Thirdly, your spirit has the faculty of communion. You fellowship with God with your spirit. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 13:14, "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen." The Holy Spirit fellowships with your spirit. From the day you got born again, the Holy Spirit dwells in your spirit. It is with your spirit you make contact with God. Paul said in Romans 1:9, "For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, …" John 4:23-24 says, "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."

I am teaching you these things so that you can see the importance of developing your spirit to become a sure guide. As that happens, you will always be able to make the right decisions, have the ability to know things supernaturally, and judge between right and wrong accurately. You will also be able to discern truth and deceit, and your service to God will be accepted because you will serve Him from your heart.

Sanctified Completely

"And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."

1 Thessalonians 5:23

The word ‘sanctify’ in our opening scripture, is from the Greek word 'hagiazo.' It means to make holy. This means that our opening scripture could read thus, "And the very God of peace make you holy, wholly; …" This also shows us that man exists in three realms: spirit, soul and body. Paul prayed saying, "…I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." This means that God wants you to be preserved holy in your spirit, soul and body. Your body is actually a suite for your spirit. The real you is a spirit, you have a soul and you live in a body.

You are a spirit, you are not a body. Your body is your house. Therefore, you are not supposed to be controlled by the dictates of your body. You are not supposed to be sense ruled. Your spirit is the life principle in you. As such you ought to live from your spirit. The word spirit also means breath. So, the reason you are breathing is because your spirit is active in your body. The moment the spirit leaves the body, the body no longer breaths. That is why breathing is a sign of life. See Job 27:3.

God wants you to have victory in all three realms of your life. That is why He wants your whole spirit, soul, and body preserved unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. God takes a hold of your spirit the moment you submit to the Lordship of Jesus and He makes you a new creature. God takes a hold of your soul and transforms you completely when you submit to the authority of His Word by listening, studying and meditating on it. As you do, your body will be vitalized by the Holy Spirit that dwells in you.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I give you my spirit, soul and body because I know you will preserve me blameless till the coming of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Your grace is sufficient for me and your strength is made perfect in every weakness in Jesus Name. Amen.

The realm of creativity 2

“I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.”

Proverbs 8:12

You can go farther than where you are now if you can learn to relate with the Holy Spirit. He will give you the answers and solutions to the problems in the world today.

For instance, the polio vaccine was invented by a Christian known as Jonas Salk in 1952. What about George Washington Carver? He was also a Christian and his discoveries were not based on experimentation. He understood that creativity was from the Spirit. When Thomas Edison met him and wanted to employ him, he requested for one thing that must always be in the lab. That thing was his Bible. Why did Thomas Edison decide to employ him? It was because George Washington Carver was inventing things that no one could have thought of. He got his creative ideas by talking to God, and the wisdom of God.

George Washington Carver by the help of the Holy Spirit was able to make important agricultural inventions. He invented over 300 products from the peanut alone; from peanuts he made foods like pancake flour, chili sauce, instant coffee, mayonnaise, cooking oil, etc. From peanuts, he made stock foods like hen food for laying, peanut meal, etc. From peanuts he also made household products like laundry soap, etc. From peanuts he made beverages like beverage for ice cream, blackberry punch, etc. Other products he invented from peanuts were medicines like emulsion for bronchitis, goiter treatment, quinine, laxatives, etc. Some others were cosmetics like shampoo, face powder, antiseptic soap, all purpose cream, pomade for scalp, dyes for leather, dyes for cloths, paints, insecticide, glue, rubber, shoe and leather blacking, washing powder, etc. were all made from the same peanut.

Prayer

Dear Father, I ask that you open my mind for creativity in my field so that I can bring solutions to the problems in my world for your praise and glory, in Jesus Name, Amen.

The realm of creativity1.
“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” John 4:24
Our opening scripture proves to us that God is a Spirit. Therefore, if a Spirit produced matter, then the realm of the spirit is more real than the material realm because it was created out of the realm of the Spirit.
The Bible tells us in Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” That suggests to us that the realm of the spirit is the realm of creativity. So, if anyone is going to be very creative in life, in business, or in any thing he does, he has to be someone who is attuned to the spirit.
Creativity is not just an activity of the mind, it comes from the spirit. That is why it is important for you to become conscious of your spiritual link with God so that you can open your mind to the influence of the Holy Spirit to impart creative ideas to your mind. That will cause you to come up with witty inventions that will put you ahead, and make you a master in your field and all that has to do with you.
How did the Egyptians know how to preserve the bodies of their dead Pharaoh's for many years without it decaying? What about the pyramids they built, how did they know how to build them? Where did they get those concepts from that have become part of the wonders of the world today? They knew those things and were able to build what they built because of the creativity of the spirit. You too can receive creative ideas and concepts from your spirit. That will make you a marvel to your world.
Instruction.
Take some time today to pray in the spirit in other tongues in line with Ephesians 1:17 and let the Spirit of God stir up God's creativity inside you for divine ideas and concepts.
