You are the light of the world.

"As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world."

John 9:5

Jesus was the one who made that declaration when He was still here on earth. But where is he today? The Bible says in Romans 8:34 that Jesus is "even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us." Now that Jesus is at the right hand of God, who is the light of the world today? It is you and I. Praise God!

In Matthew 5:14, Jesus said to His disciples, "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid." Then, in verse 16, He said, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

Since you are the light of the world as a Christian, you have to take responsibility to see that the light of the gospel spreads throughout Nigeria. You do not have to hold a political office to influence the nation positively. You can change things through prayer. So, have you prayed for Nigeria today?

Pray for the nation everyday instead of complaining. That is one of your responsibilities. When you pray for the nation, pray with all your heart and expect to see that which you have asked manifested in our nation.

After you have prayed for the nation, keep your confessions in line with your prayer. And then begin to practise and live out what you want to see in the nation. Live your life with integrity and truth and let the change begin with you.

In Ephesians 5:8-11(CEV) the Bible says, "You used to be like people living in the dark, but now you are people of the light because you belong to the Lord. So act like people of the light and make your light shine. Be good and honest and truthful, as you try to please the Lord. Don't take part in doing those worthless things that are done in the dark. Instead, show how wrong they are."

Prayer.

Thank you Father for making me the light of the world. I ask that this light would shine into every sphere of society in this nation. May everyone who has been held captive in our nation, from the political leaders to the common man, be liberated in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and may every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. Amen.

Truly faithful

"That I gave my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the ruler of the palace, charge over Jerusalem: for he was a faithful man, and feared God above many." Nehemiah 7:2

From our opening scripture, we see that one of the characteristics of a man who is faithful to God is the fear of God.

Do you have the fear of God in your dealings? A faithful man is conscious in all his dealings knowing that he is accountable to God. He therefore seeks to do only those things that pleases God. A faithful man reverences God and His Word above all else.

Proverbs 8:13 says, "The fear of the LORD is to hate evil …" Job 28:28 says, "And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding."

A good example of a man whose faithfulness was evident in his fear and reverence for God is Daniel. The Bible says concerning him in Daniel 6:4, "Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him."

Daniel was faithful to such a degree that in all his dealings in the kingdom, there was found no crookedness in him because he did them with a perfect heart and he was faithful. The Bible shows that the only way the unbelieving princes could fault Daniel was in his commitment to God. They conspired to use his commitment to God against him, yet, he remained faithful to God even when he knew his life was at stake. (Read Daniel 6:5-23) That is true faithfulness and it is what God expects from us all.

Instruction.

If there is any way you know you are compromising, repent from it and commit afresh to be faithful in your dealings.

Doing the Word

Serve God in sincerity.

"Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen."

Ephesians 6:24

Paul's words in our opening scripture connotes that it is not every one who professes that he or she love our Lord Jesus Christ who actually loves Him in sincerity.

Sincerity is rare. God is in search of sincere men. The Bible says in 2 Chronicles 16:9, "For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him…" I pray that God will find your heart perfect towards Him.

1 Timothy 1:5 says, "Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:" Is your love genuine from a pure heart? Do you maintain a good conscience and is your faith sincere? Your sincere answer to these questions begins to show you how perfect your heart really is toward God.

To further express the importance of these virtues, Paul charged Timothy saying, "This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:" 1 Timothy 1:18-19.

Therefore just like Paul, let his words in Acts 24:16 (AMP) be your determination as well. "Therefore I always exercise and discipline myself [mortifying my body, deadening my carnal affections, bodily appetites, and worldly desires, endeavoring in all respects] to have a clear (unshaken, blameless) conscience, void of offense toward God and toward men."

Prayer

Dear Father, I ask that you cause my love to abound more and more in knowledge and in all judgment. May I always approve things that are excellent, and help me to be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ, in Jesus Name. Amen.

Faithful in the Word

"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

Romans 10:17

How does faith come? It comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. 'Hearing' is present continuous tense. So hearing the Word of God is something that you must do every day faithfully. You must consistently feed your faith by hearing the Word of God.

Therefore, if you consistently feed your faith with the Word of God, you will find out that your character will improve and you will be strong spiritually. No matter how much a Christian believes he has grown spiritually, the day he stops feeding himself with the Word of God consistently, his heart will gradually become filled with unbelief.

This is why the Bible warns in Hebrews 3:12-13, "Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin."

Hebrews 2:1(AMP) in showing us the importance of holding firmly to the Word of God says, "SINCE ALL this is true, we ought to pay much closer attention than ever to the truths that we have heard, lest in any way we drift past [them] and slip away."

The Word of God should never become common to you. Go for the Word of God in reading, studying, hearing and meditating on it faithfully every day, knowing it is your life and God's recipe for your success. You need the Word of God daily for your spiritual development and success.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you because my desire for your Word is increasing daily in Jesus Name. Amen.

Faith overcomes this world.

"For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith."

1 John 5:4

From our opening scripture, we can see that we already have in us the ability to succeed. There is no more failure in us. To overcome the world means, 'to get the victory over the world.' So, if you are a child of God, you are already victorious over the world.

To overcome the world also means, 'to subdue the world.' That means you can subdue your world as a child of God. When you look at the negative situations in the country, in your state or even in your street. Do not become overwhelmed by them. Instead, make your declaration as a world overcomer and say, "I am going to change this." Someone else may hear you say that and then ask, "What change can you bring?"

Yes, you can bring a change. First, by praying. When you hear a negative report, your first reaction should be to pray. Secondly, live honestly and expose the deeds of evil around you. Do not be a party to corruption and wickedness. If you are not born again, get born again. Make Jesus your Lord and personal Saviour. And if you were born again and you have been living in sin, it is time to repent.

Romans 13:12(DRB) says, "The night is passed And the day is at hand. Let us, therefore cast off the works of darkness and put on the armour of light." Then Romans 13:13-14(ISV) says, "Let us behave decently, as people who live in the light of day. No wild parties, drunkenness, sexual immorality, promiscuity, rivalry, or jealousy! Instead, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not obey your flesh and its desires."

Thirdly, preach the gospel. Pass this message to those out there who have not heard it. Let them know that God loves them and He is willing to accept them unconditionally if only they will come to Him for salvation. He will save them and make them champions of positive change in our world today.

Fourthly, partner with the gospel through every available means, until every sphere of society reflects the character of the kingdom of God.

Prayer.

Dear Father, today I repent and forsake every form of compromise in my life. I choose the way of the Lord to walk according to the gospel of Jesus Christ and His will in Jesus Name. Amen.

Faithfulness to another.

"And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?"

Luke 16:12

Are you faithful in that which belongs to another man? Or are you only focused on your own interest? Our opening scripture shows you that God expects you to be faithful in that which belongs to another. This is because your unfaithfulness in that which belongs to another can stop yours from coming.

For instance, if you desire to have your own business and you are currently working for someone now. You need to take care of the business as though it were your own. Work as though it were yours. Put all you have into it. As you do, God will give you your own. When God gives you your own, it will be different from that of the man who deceived and was fraudulent to get his own. When God gives you your own, He adds no sorrow to it.

Before God gave me this ministry, I served faithfully in my home Church after I got restored to Christ at seventeen. I prayed for my Pastor, the church, for souls, etc. I mobilized other young people to have all nights to pray for my Pastor and the ministry. I led souls to Christ, brought them to church and took up the responsibility to pioneer the fellowship for teenagers that grew to become one of the largest fellowships in the church. I gave financially and served physically with all my heart in various departments. Today, God has enabled me and counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry.

Instruction.

If you are currently working for others, do it with all your heart.

For further study read:

Luke 19:13-26, Genesis 39:1-9, 1 Corinthians 4:2

Doing the Word

Do not mismanage what others have committed to your trust. Maintain integrity.

Faithful with your money.

"The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute."

Proverbs 12:24

Have you been diligent in your finances? Can you give an account of your finances? If I should ask you how much money came into your hands last month in addition to your salary, will you be able to tell me the exact amount? There are those who will not be able to give the accurate figures because they have no records of their finances. They just spend money without any accounting.

Most of the wealthiest men in the world, Christians or non-Christians alike keep their personal books of account. Do you have yours? If you do not have one, then it means that you are not getting yourself ready to go that far in your finances.

Financial accountability is important if you are preparing for your wealthy place. Faithfulness in your personal accounting is one of the ways you can actually get your finances in order. It helps you to be able to account for every money you receive. It helps you to identify where you have a shortfall and areas where you need to stop impulsive spending to make up for the short fall.

God wants you to be diligent in your finances so that He can entrust you with more. As God increases you financially, He expects you to be prudent, faithful and diligent in the way you manage your finances.

Instruction.

I encourage you to start recording your personal finances.

For further study read:

Proverbs 18:9, Luke 15:13-14, Luke 16:1-2

Doing the Word

Faithful in tithing.

"Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings."

Malachi 3:8

There is a woman named Kim Kiyosaki. She said that when she and her husband started trying to move towards making the most of their finances, one of the things they did was to get a book keeper named Betty. This lady managed their finances; took care of their accounting and gave them timely and accurate records. Secondly, among the financial decisions they took was to tithe ten percent from every dollar that came in. As they tithed, they increased.

It is important you know that your faithfulness at the level you are now will lead to increase because the Bible says, "a faithful man will abound with blessings." And "the blessing of the Lord maketh rich" So you will definitely go to another level of wealth when you tithe faithfully.

If you do not want your finances to vacillate as a Christian, then be a faithful tither. Malachi 3:10-12 says, "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts. And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts."

Instruction.

If you have not been tithing, I encourage you to begin today.

Genesis 14:18-20, Hebrews 7:1-7, Genesis 28:22.

Doing the Word

Moral faithfulness.

"For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:"

1 Thessalonians 4:3-5

If you are a single person reading this devotion today, let faithfulness be one of the virtues you look out for before choosing a spouse. Is he or she a faithful person morally, financially, etc.? These things are important so do not overlook them. You are marrying the person; which includes his or her character.

Any friend who says he wants to marry you and he is sleeping around today because you have refused to compromise your faith and chastity as a Christian, such a person cannot be trusted to be faithful after he is married. If you do not train yourself to be faithful and chaste now as a single, you will be vulnerable to temptations after you get married.

1 Corinthians 6:18-20 says, "Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."

Prayer.

Dear Father, I present my body to you as a living sacrifice, pure and holy as my reasonable service in Jesus Name. Amen.

Doing the Word

God needs you.

"And I sought for a man …"
Ezekiel 22:30

When God calls you, answer the call. This is because the destinies of many people out there depend on your answer to the call. For instance, R.W Shambach was restored to Christ in an Oral Roberts meeting. What would have happened if Oral Roberts never answered his call? Maybe there would have been no R.W Shambach today. Now think about the numerous people around the world who have been saved and healed by the ministry of R.W Shambach. Those people may have continued in their darkness and oppression if he was not saved.

Do you know that Jesse Duplantis got saved while watching Billy Graham on television? If Billy Graham never got on television, maybe Jesse Duplantis who has also blessed so many with his ministry around the world would not have been saved.

This is why we do the things we do. Someone may be wondering and asking, "Why are you on television?" Someone's life depends on it for salvation. So, as people get saved, all those who partnered with us will also be a part of the reward for all the souls that will be saved. More so, they will be a part of the reward of the individual that got saved because they made it possible for him to hear the gospel.

So, you can see from the illustrations above that your faithfulness in obedience to God's instructions and His call upon your life has a far reaching effect on the lives and destinies of others.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you for the privilege of being called and used by you to be a blessing to many people out there for you. I ask that many more should be saved and their destinies transformed through my life and my involvement and partnership in the gospel. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Faithfulness in Business

"Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men."

Proverbs 22:29

A man that is diligent is also a faithful man because you cannot be diligent if you are not faithful and consistent in what you do.

For instance, there are some people who have a business or store where they sell, but they do not open at the same time every day. They open for business any time they want. They have no specific time when they open. So you cannot predict when they will be there. Yet the same person who is so unfaithful in his business may be praying seriously for progress. He does not know that he is hindering his own progress by breaking the Word of God concerning faithfulness.

For that person who is unfaithful in his business, someone may have seen your store or your business place and has decided to come the next day at 8am to patronize you. Now the person comes at 8am and you are not yet open for business. That is unfaithfulness. It has cost you that customer.

If you are in business, have a specific time you open and a specific time when you close. Do not open or close just at any time. Be faithful in your timing. When you are faithful, people will trust you and because they trust you they will be willing to come to you knowing that you will be there to render the service required.

The man that is faithful and consistent in his business will surely prosper because with faithfulness comes increase. When you are faithful, you will also be diligent in your business. When you are diligent that way, you will stand before kings, not before mean men.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you because your blessing is upon me and all that I lay my hands to do for increased productivity even as I embrace diligence in Jesus Name. Amen.

A sure house

A sure house.

"And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever."

1 Samuel 2:35

Our opening scripture shows us that a faithful man is one who always does what is in God's heart and mind. For such a man, God declares that He will build him a sure house. This means that his family, children and his generation will be taken care of by the Lord.

When you are a faithful man, you do not need to be worried about your children and what they will become. They have become God's responsibility and He will see to it that they excel. He will protect them and preserve them because they are your children.

Look at the life of faithful Abraham, God built him a sure house. What about faithful David, God built him a sure house. God spoke to Isaac in Genesis 26:24, "I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham's sake." Concerning David, God Himself said in Jeremiah 33:20-21, "Thus saith the LORD; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season; Then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; …"

These men were faithful and their lives attracted such great blessings that benefitted them and their generations till this day. I wonder what your faithfulness would do for you and your generations. Faithfulness gives permanent blessings. Do not trade it. Be faithful no matter the cost.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you because I am strengthened with might according to the riches of your glory by your spirit in my inner man to remain faithful in doing those things that please you in Jesus Name. Amen.

For further study read:

Exodus 1:15-21, 1 Samuel 25:28, 1 Kings 11:38.

Doing the Word

Faithfulness gives access.

"He said, "Listen to my words: When there are prophets of the LORD among you, I make myself known to them in visions or speak to them in dreams. But this is not the way I treat my servant Moses. He is the most faithful person in my household. I speak with him face to face, plainly and not in riddles. He even sees the form of the LORD. ..."

Numbers 12:6-8(GW)

Moses had such intimacy with God in his day because he was the most faithful person amongst many in his walk with God. God said that he spoke to other prophets in visions or dreams but not so with Moses. God spoke to him face to face.

Exodus 33:11 says, "And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend…" This teaches us that the man that is faithful will have access to hear from God directly. For some people, God only speaks to them through visions or dreams. They have never heard God speak to them directly or plainly.

If you would be more faithful to God and yielded to doing His will with all your heart, you will begin to hear his voice directly. That is one of the blessings of faithfulness.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you for my ears are anointed to hear your voice directly even as I commit to walking faithfully in your will in Jesus Name. Amen.

Blessings of the faithful.

"A faithful man shall abound with blessings: …" Proverbs 28:20

One of the words translated faithful in Hebrew is the word 'amam'. It means to support, to render firm, consistency, reliability, morally true, permanent, etc. If these describe your character, it means that you are a faithful man.

Our opening scripture tells us that "A faithful man shall abound with blessings: …" There are some people who are never consistent in what they do. For that reason, the blessings for consistency is never received by them.

When God sent me to Bayelsa State, it was very challenging at the beginning. There was a time we actually lived in an uncompleted building. I said to one of the boys that helped us build, "I may be starting from nothing in this town, but watch what will happen with the Word of God." Today, God has increased us and prospered us with the Word because I knew that, "A faithful man shall abound with blessings:"

The reason many are not successful is because they are not consistent. For instance, Israel Houston spends six hours every day in worship and today he has won more grammy awards more than any other Christian musician. That is the reward for consistency.

Therefore, I encourage you to be faithful and consistent in what you do because if you will be faithful, you will abound with blessings.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you because I receive grace to be faithful and consistent with an undying commitment to your plan and purpose for my life in Jesus Name. Amen.

Galatians 6:9, 2 Thessalonians 3:13, Proverbs 20:6

Doing the Word

Do not be discouraged if you are starting small. Your latter end will greatly increase.

Answer your call.

"Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations."

Jeremiah 1:5

There are some of you reading this devotional right now that have a call into the ministry and many things in your hands are not turning right. You have been trying to adjust the plan to fit you, but the Lord says to you today, "Are you wiser than I, didn't I create you, didn't I make you for my purpose? I know why I made you and my plan is far better than yours. If only you will yield to me says God, all that you have been praying and believing for, I will put into your hands."

It is important that you listen to the voice of the Spirit to you today and retrace your steps back to the call that God has for your life. As long as you stay outside of your call, you will not experience the fullness of the blessings that God has for your life.

Continual resistance to God's call over your life can expose you to the enemy because you are in disobedience. David said in Psalm 119:67, "Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word." Therefore, as you repent today and make the necessary adjustments to do the will of God for your life, all that you have been praying and believing for will be put into your hands by God.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I surrender my will and my heart to do your will for my life. I say yes to Your call for my life. I submit myself in obedience to your will and your way from this day forward, and even as I do I thank you for the heavens are opened over my life and your grace is sufficient for me. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Permanent change.

"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord."

2 Corinthians 3:18

Today, if there is any area of your life you want to see a change, our opening scripture shows you how to effect that change. This is because every permanent change has its root in the Word of God.

If you will consistently behold as in a glass the glory of the Lord in the Word of God, you will be changed effortlessly into the same image that you desire in the Word of God.

A dear minister of God confessed that he used to have an anger problem, but his change came the day he was studying the Bible and he saw in Ecclesiastes 7:9, "Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools." He said when he found this truth that anger resteth in the bosom of fools, anger died in him that very day.

The Word of God has come to you today. You can change by the Word. If you have an anger problem or you are short tempered, just like that minister of the gospel, let anger die in you today. The Bible says in Proverbs 19:11(AMP), "Good sense makes a man restrain his anger, and it is his glory to overlook a transgression or an offense." Proverbs 16:32(CEV) says, "Controlling your temper is better than being a hero who captures a city."

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you for as I behold your glory in your Word, I am being changed from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord in Jesus Name. Amen.

For further study read:

Ephesians 4:26-27, Proverbs 25:28, Romans 12:1-2

Doing the Word.

Be a doer of the Word of God.

Continue in the Word

"Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

John 8:31-32

From our opening scripture, we see that consistency in the Word of God will lead to discoveries and revelations.

In the natural realm also, the principle of consistency has also led to several discoveries in science. For example, before Thomas Edison discovered the electric bulb, he tried 1,000 times. He remained consistent and his consistency birthed his discovery.

Jesus said in our opening scripture, "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Therefore, if you have experienced freedom in the areas of your prosperity, health, marriage, child bearing or from oppressions from devils, it calls for more consistency in the Word of God.

Lack of consistency in the Word of God has caused some Christians to relapse to challenges they have been freed from after some days, weeks, months or years.

I encourage you to live your life consistently in the Word of God, so that you will not become exposed again to spiritual attacks and oppressions. When you live your life consistently in the Word of God, your faith will be built up.

The Bible calls faith your shield in spiritual warfare. (See Ephesians 6:16) Therefore, when you do not give priority to feeding your faith with the Word of God every day, you will become exposed to spiritual attacks because you have no covering.

Faithfulness to truth.

"Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip."

Hebrews 2:1

If you do not hold firmly to the truths of the Word of God that you have heard in time past; revisiting those books, messages and notes to remind yourself of these truths, they will slip without you even knowing.

You need to be able to appraise yourself to see weather you are more effective and productive now than you were in your spiritual life, business, marriage, academics, etc. If you are less effective now in any area of your life, it means that you are slipping from the truths you learnt before. You have to now give the more earnest heed or a closer attention to those truths that made you more effective and productive then.

Kenneth Hagin spoke about a young man who bought his message on how to cultivate the human spirit. He said this young man listened to that message again and again continuously. All he had to his name when he got the message was fifty dollars. But as he continued putting to practice the truths he learnt from that message, in seven years he was worth seven million dollars.

The same consistency practised in the life of Steve Scott also made him a millionaire. Gary Smalley told him to read the book of proverbs in the Bible everyday for five years, and he would become a millionaire. Steve Scott did as he was told, read the book of proverbs every day, wrote down and practised the truths he learnt consistently, and in two years, he was worth over four million dollars. I encourage you to embrace faithfulness to the truths that you have learnt. It is the foundation for a great future.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you for as I commit to doing the Word of God and practising the truths I have learnt therein, the rewards and effect of the Word will be manifested through my life for your glory in Jesus Name. Amen.

Don't become discouraged.

"I will climb my watchtower and wait to see what the LORD will tell me to say and what answer he will give to my complaint. The LORD gave me this answer: "Write down clearly on tablets what I reveal to you, so that it can be read at a glance. Put it in writing, because it is not yet time for it to come true. But the time is coming quickly, and what I show you will come true. It may seem slow in coming, but wait for it; it will certainly take place, and it will not be delayed."

Habakkuk 2:1-3(GNB).

If you are feeling discouraged and thinking of giving up on the visions that God has shown to you concerning your future, God has a word for you today.

He says to you; "If you will be faithful with little things that I entrust into your hands and learn to do things my way, I will begin to increase my influence little by little, little by little, until I show you forth to the world as the man or the woman that was raised by my Spirit says God."

Remain faithful where you are and in that which He has called you to do. The Bible says in Galatians 6:9(ALT), "Now let us not become discouraged [or, weary] in the doing of good, for at the proper time we will reap, not being discouraged [or, if we do not get discouraged]."

"You may say, "Lord I have been in preparation, I've been waiting. When will my time come?" You've been asking me again and again. Yes, your waiting is not in vain for I am preparing you for the great things I have in store for you. Yes, the future I have in store for you is far greater than you can imagine. Yes keep preparing, keep preparing, keep preparing says the Spirit of God."

Therefore, be encouraged by the Word of God to you today, because your preparation is not in vain.

Confession

Dear Father, I hold on to your word to me above my feelings and every contrary evidence that I see around me. I know that every word that has gone out of your mouth would not return unto you void, but it shall accomplish that to which you sent it. Therefore, I am certain that the visions and prophesies you have given to me will all come through speedily in their season. Amen.

Daily faithfulness.

"There was a man named Cornelius who lived in Caesarea, captain of the Italian Guard stationed there. He was a thoroughly good man. He had led everyone in his house to live worshipfully before God, was always helping people in need, and had the habit of prayer."

Acts 10:1-2(MSG)

One thing I want you to take special note of concerning the man Cornelius in our opening scripture is the fact that the Bible shows us that he had a prayer habit. If he had a habit of prayer, that meant he prayed every day.

Do you pray and study the Bible every day? Are you faithful in your devotions with God? It is important you know that consistency counts in your walk with God. Cornelius was consistent in his prayer daily. He did not know the day he was going to be visited by God, but because he was faithful and consistent, when the day came, he was in prayer in the ninth hour which was one of the hours of prayer among the Jews in those days. That was the time he saw the vision that led him to the path of salvation for himself and his family. (See Acts 10:3)

Cornelius in his own words said, "… Four days ago at about this time, midafternoon, I was home praying. Suddenly there was a man right in front of me, flooding the room with light. He said, 'Cornelius, your daily prayers and neighborly acts have brought you to God's attention." Acts 10:30-31(MSG)

Faithfulness will always get God's attention. I encourage you to continue in your faithfulness because you do not know the day of your visitation. It will surely come, I pray your day will not meet you unprepared.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you for your grace is sufficient for me to persist in my faithfulness in daily prayers and charity. May my day of visitation meet me prepared, in Jesus Name. Amen.

In haste to be rich?

"A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent." Proverbs 28:20

Are you a faithful man? The Bible shows us that the faithful man would abound with blessings. Are you making haste to be rich? The Amplified Bible explains what it means to make haste to be rich, "… but he who makes haste to be rich [at any cost] shall not go unpunished. [Prov. 13:11; 20:21; 23:4; I Tim. 6:9.]" The man who makes haste to be rich is the man that wants to be rich at any cost. Such riches comes with negative consequences. The Bible says such a man shall not go unpunished.

Proverbs 13:11(AMP) says, "Wealth [not earned but] won in haste or unjustly or from the production of things for vain or detrimental use [such riches] will dwindle away, but he who gathers little by little will increase [his riches]." The Message Bible puts it this way, "Easy come, easy go, but steady diligence pays off."

A faithful man is a diligent man. The Bible says in Proverbs 12:24, "The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: …" Therefore, if you desire to become great, do not choose the easy or unjust path, choose the path of diligence and faithfulness. It will surely pay off at the end.

A faithful sevant

"And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord." Matthew 25:20-21

I want you to notice in our opening scripture that the servant that multiplied his talents was called a faithful servant. That means that faithfulness brings productivity. Faithfulness and fruitfulness are synonymous in the kingdom of God.

When you are truly faithful to the Lord, you will be productive and fruitful, and He will promote you.

In Matthew 24:46 the Bible says, "Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing." This shows us that a faithful man consistently does what he is told to do.

That consistent faithfulness of yours in doing the will of God will cause Him to promote you. The Bible says in Matthew 24:47(CEV), "You may be sure that a servant who is always faithful will be put in charge of everything the master owns." I encourage you today not to relent on your faithfulness. Maintain it because it will give you access to all the Master owns.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you because your grace is sufficient for me, both to will and to do of your good pleasure always, in Jesus Name. Amen.

Remain faithful

"He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much."

Luke 16:10

Please do not trivialize your present assignment. It does not matter if it is to two or three people, do not trivialize it. You are there for a reason.

A dear man of God, Pastor Willy George, was a producer of Christian children movies through which he teaches them the Word of God. One day a little girl who had been watching his movies was kidnapped by a man who kidnaps children, molest them and dismembers their bodies afterwards.

This murderer, in order to kidnap the girl put up a false identity; claiming to be her uncle. He took the girl and drove her off town. In the process, she discovered she had been kidnaped because of the strange way he behaved. Then she remembered what she watched in one of the Christian children movies produced by Pastor Willy George on the authority of the Name of Jesus, so she said to the murderer, "In the Name of Jesus, take me back home." The man suddenly turned around, drove her back home, dropped her in front of her house and he zoomed off. The police and all those who knew about the activities of this kidnapper and murderer were all surprised and wondered how he left her unharmed. Then, the girl said that it was because of what she learnt in Pastor Willy George's Show.

So, I encourage you to remain faithful in the present assignment that God has given to you, especially, in reaching others with the gospel. If God will open your eyes, you will see that it has a far more reaching effect than you can estimate.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I ask that you open my eyes to see and my heart to understand the value you place on even the least service I render in your house. Thank you Father for I receive grace to remain faithful in that which you have called me to do, in Jesus Name. Amen.

Be found faitful.

"Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?"

Proverbs 20:6

God is in search of faithful men. A faithful man is a loyal man.

In 2 Chronicles 16:9 the Bible says, "For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him…" The Contemporary English Version puts it this way, "The LORD is constantly watching everyone, and he gives strength to those who faithfully obey him…" The Good News Bible says, "The LORD keeps close watch over the whole world, to give strength to those whose hearts are loyal to him…"

In 2 Chronicles 25 the Bible tells us about a king named Amaziah. 2 Chronicles 25:2 says, "And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, but not with a perfect heart." The Contemporary English Version puts it this way, "Even though Amaziah obeyed the LORD by doing right, he refused to be completely faithful." The Good News Bible says, "He did what was pleasing to the LORD, but did it reluctantly."

Do not be one of those who only do things for the Lord because it is convenient, do the things you do for the Lord because you have chosen to be completely faithful and committed to Him from your heart.

Prayer.

Dear Father, expose every seed of falsehood that has entered into my belief system and help me to fulfill your plan and purpose for my life without reproach, in Jesus Name. Amen.

God requires faithfulness.

"For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church."

1 Corinthians 4:17

One of the fundamental requirements to meet before God can entrust responsibilities to you is a faithful spirit.

We see in our opening scripture that before Paul delegated to Timothy, he was found to be faithful in the Lord. If you are not faithful, you cannot be trusted with responsibility in the house of God. Timothy was reliable and trustworthy. That was why Paul chose him to be sent to the Church to teach them.

Paul also taught Timothy to follow the same principle of committing to faithful men when he wrote to him in 2 Timothy 2:1-2, "Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also."

God will not promote you unless you are faithful. Faithfulness is consistency of character. There are some persons who have become ineffective in their walk with God or in responsibilities committed to them for lack of faithfulness. If you remain faithful, you will not lack ability because with faithfulness comes ability. So, if you are faithful with what you have, God will increase your ability.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I ask that you strengthen me with might according to the riches of your glory by your Spirit in my inner man. I receive strength to remain faithful and committed to Your plan and purpose for my life, in Jesus Name. Amen.

Faithfulness to His will.

"And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever."

1 Samuel 2:35

Are you faithful? A faithful person is committed to doing the will of God. One of the ways God judges your faithfulness is your commitment to the desires of His heart and what pleases Him.

Using King Saul and King David as examples, Saul never thought of bringing the ark of the Lord back to Jerusalem where it should be. He was only concerned about being king over Israel. When David became King, one of his passions was to bring the ark of God back to Jerusalem and he did it. David was so faithful to God and God called him a man after My own heart.

The Bible says in Acts 13:21-22(AMP), "Then they asked for a king; and God gave them Saul son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years. And when He had deposed him, He raised up David to be their king; of him He bore witness and said, I have found David son of Jesse a man after My own heart, who will do all My will and carry out My program fully. [I Sam. 13:14; Ps. 89:20; Isa. 44:28.]"

When you are faithful to God by being committed to His will and doing it like David, He will build you a sure house forever.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I ask that you fill me with the knowledge of your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, in Jesus Name. Amen.

Faithfulness

"Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful."

1 Corinthians 4:2

From our opening scripture, we see that faithfulness is a requirement. A requirement is a necessity. This means that God is saying that it is a necessity for you to be faithful.

What does it mean to be faithful? The word for faithful in the Greek is the word 'pistos' which means to be dependable, trustworthy, true, etc. Edwin Lois Cole said, "Faithfulness is the cornerstone of character." It is important that you build your life on faithfulness. This is because no one can build on moving blocks. Buildings are built on stable blocks. Make faithfulness the cornerstone of your character. Be dependable and trustworthy.

From the scriptures, we notice that faithfulness counted even with Jesus. For instance, when Jesus called the Apostles it was required for them to leave all and follow Him. The Apostle Peter said to Jesus in Mark 10:28, "…Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee." Jesus reply to Peter shows us that He always rewards faithfulness. "And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life." Mark 10:29-30.

Choosing to walk in the path of faithfulness today is a positioning for a great future.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you for grace to be faithful to you and your will for my life. I renounce my own way and choose to live a life that is well pleasing in your sight, in Jesus Name. Amen.
