Abide in the truth.

“Now the snake was the most cunning animal that the LORD God had made… The snake replied, "That's not true; you will not die. God said that because he knows that when you eat it, you will be like God and know what is good and what is bad."
Genesis 3:1, 4-5(GNB)

I want you to know that it was satan who spoke through the snake to the woman in our opening scripture. We know this because satan is always rebellious against the word of God. He loves to question the integrity of the word of God, and by so doing, corrupt the heart of his prey with doubt and then lure them with His deceitfulness and their lust.

Satan's primary aim is to see to it that you doubt the word of God. This is because he knows that when you start doubting the word of God, you are vulnerable to deception.

2 Thessalonians 2:10-12(GW), the Bible says, “He will use everything that God disapproves of to deceive those who are dying, those who refused to love the truth that would save them. That's why God will send them a powerful delusion so that they will believe a lie. Then everyone who did not believe the truth, but was delighted with what God disapproves of, will be condemned.”

It is important that you know that every step away from the word of God, is a step into deception. So, do not doubt the word of God that you have heard, read and received into your heart.

I pray for you, “That you will stand firm and hold on to these truths which you have been taught in this devotional. May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us, strengthen you with his grace and give you unfailing courage and a firm hope. May He encourage you and enable you to always abide in His truth in your thoughts, words and deeds. In Jesus Name. Amen.”

Receive salvation.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Romans 10:9-10(KJV)

Our opening scripture shows us how to get saved. To become born again, you must confess with your mouth the Lordship of Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, when you do, you shall be saved.

Someone may read this and say, “Is that all I need to do to be saved? No, it is too simple.” But that is a lie of the devil that has been sown into that person's heart. The devil is trying to deceive you by corrupting your mind because of the simplicity that is in Christ.

A lot of people expect to work so hard before they are saved. Some others expect to fast ten days before they are saved. No. All that is not required to receive the gift of salvation. It is a gift that is been made available to you through your faith in Jesus.

Jesus Christ has already done all the work required for your salvation all you need to do right now is to reach out to Him with your faith by believing with all your heart that He already paid for all your sins in His death, and that He rose again on the third day for your justification (so that you can be made righteous, just as if you never sinned). And then if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord of your life, you shall be saved.

So, if you take the word of God as final authority, and start living in line with the word of God, you have reduced your spiritual warfare by 99.9%. Welcome into the liberty we have in Christ. God bless you.

PRAYER OF SALVATION
“O God, I believe in Jesus Christ. I believe that He is the Son of God. I believe that He died for my sins. I believe with all my heart that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead on the third day. I confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is my Lord. I take Him as my Lord and personal savior. Jesus, come into my heart, make me a new person. I receive eternal life into my spirit even now. Amen.”

God cares for you 2.

“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
1 Peter 5:6-7(KJV)

A lot of people are not humble because they do not believe that God cares about them. Some of them believe that God takes time so they manipulate their own way in other for them to get to where or whatever they want quicker.

1 Peter 5:8 says, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” From this scripture, we see that satan cannot come into your life if he does not have the opportunity. Satan is an opportunist. He has got no authority to come into your life unless you open the door to him.

1 Peter 5:9 says, “Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.” When you are going through some challenges satan will come to you and tell you that God doesn't care about you because of the challenges that you are going through. Or he may ask you, “If God cares about you then why are you going through this?” When you believe that lie, you will stay longer in that difficult place. You must believe in the love of God if you are going to make progress, because the Bible says that faith worketh by love (Galatians 5:6).
In 1 Peter 5:10, the Bible says, “But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.” I want you to know that no matter what you are going through, you must be confident of one thing in your heart, that God is perfecting, establishing, strengthening, and will surely settle you. Romans 8:28 says, “… that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

In Ephesians 1:11, the Bible lets us know that God works all things according to the counsel of His will. So, trust God and be confident that things will work out for your good. Therefore, keep on believing and speaking it.

CONFESSION
I declare that all things are working together for my good. Because I love God and I am the called according to His purpose. I am a victor and not a victim. I refuse to consider the negative things that I see. But, I look at the things which are revealed to me in the word of God. For the negative things which I see are changing to correspond to the things which are revealed to me in the word of God.

DOING THE WORD
Resist the lies of satan and he will flee from you.

God cares about you 1.

“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.”
2 Corinthians 11:3(KJV)

It is clear to us from our opening scripture that those who are being deceived by satan have their minds corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

So, when you are ignorant of satan's devices according to the word of God, you become susceptible to your mind being corrupted by the craftiness of satan from the simplicity that is in Christ.

The word simplicity from our opening scripture means, generosity and liberality. In other words, the word of God is letting you know that when satan comes to deceive you in his craftiness, he always wants to make you feel that God is not as generous and liberal as you think. He wants you to believe that God is not really concerned about you. And when you begin to believe that God is not really concerned about you, you come under pressure to perform. So, you begin to compromise, you begin to steal, you begin to do all the wrong things you must not do.

This is why the Bible tells us in 1 Peter 5:7, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”  Therefore, do not buy into the lies and deceit of the enemy against your life, but instead cast all your cares on the Lord because He cares about your life affectionately.

In Romans 5:8, the Bible says, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Therefore, let your mind and your heart be confident in the truth that God loves you unconditionally. He is concerned about all your needs, concerns, problems, challenges and even about your sins, and He wants to help you live right.

I want you to know that God is interested about your marriage. He wants to help you have a better marriage. God is interested that you have children. He is interested that your business moves forward. But until you get a hold of these truths and have them as a conviction in your heart, you will still be vulnerable to the deceits and craftiness of satan.

CONFESSION
I believe and I declare that God has loved me with an everlasting love. He has drawn me to himself with His loving kindness towards me. I am the apple of His eyes. He cares about me and He has freely given me all things to enjoy. He will never leave me, nor forsake me. So that I may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Liberated by truth 2.

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
John 8:32(KJV)

From our opening scripture, we see that the truth we know is what makes us free. That is, the truth we know establishes our liberty.

You are only as free as the truth you know. That is why you must guard your heart from the deception of satan.

In 2 Corinthians 11:2-3, the Bible says, “For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” From this scripture we see that satan deceives people through his subtilty.

Subtilty in the Greek is from the word 'panourgia;' it means trickery, cunning or craftiness. So, we can see that satan deceived Eve through his craftiness. This shows us that satan takes advantage of people who are ignorant. That is why we have learnt about things like anger, bitterness, strife, quarrels, etc. and how we must guard our hearts against such. Being ignorant of these things has caused a lot of people to suffer very much because they did not know the wiles of the devil.

Having success in spiritual warfare is more than just shouting and having all night prayers and yet you are quarreling with your wife. The Bible says that your prayers will be hindered that way. Even if you have forty days all night prayers and fasting and you do not reconcile with your wife, you are still going to have your prayers hindered. So you need to get it right if you are going to have victory in spiritual warfare.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I submit my heart to your truth. Thank you for teaching me to love and live in the victory that we have in Christ above all the deceits of the devil. As I walk in obedience to your revealed truth, may I continually experience the liberty of Christ in every area of my life. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Liberated by truth 1.

“Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.”
2 Corinthians 2:11(KJV)

In spiritual warfare ignorance is not bliss. Ignorance is deadly. It has been said that, “The strength of the oppressor is the ignorance of the oppressed.”

Psalm 82:5 says, “They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness …” In other words, darkness prevails in the absence of knowledge. Therefore, ignorance is darkness.

People who are ignorant of God's truth are living in darkness according to the Word of God. That is why the Bible says in Psalm 119:130, “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.” So, whenever the word of God gains entrance into your heart, it brings light.

In Hosea 4:6, the Bible says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge …” Notice that God said that His own people are destroyed. The word destroyed in this verse we just read means to be brought to nothing, to be made dumb, it means failure; it means to perish or to be destroyed. In other words, God is saying that my people fail, my people are brought to nothing, to silence, because of a lack of knowledge.

Now you need to know that failure is always traceable to ignorance. Defeat is always traceable to ignorance. If you are failing or struggling right now, it is traceable to something you do not know. It has been said that “Every man's ignorance is his mountain.” Your life is as difficult as what you know or don't know. So, it is important that you go for truth because the truth of God's word is what would liberate you.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I receive the engrafted word into my heart today with meekness. May the illumination and light which your word brings eradicate every darkness from my life, bringing liberation from every struggle, ability for every weakness and solutions to every problem in Jesus Name. Amen.

Overcome evil with good.

“Pay back to no man evil for evil… If you can, so far as it depends on you, live at peace with all the world. Do not be revengeful, my dear friends, but give way before anger; for it is written, "'REVENGE BELONGS TO ME: I WILL PAY BACK,' says the Lord." On the contrary, therefore, IF YOUR ENEMY IS HUNGRY, GIVE HIM FOOD; IF HE IS THIRSTY, QUENCH HIS THIRST. FOR BY DOING THIS YOU WILL BE HEAPING BURNING COALS UPON HIS HEAD. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome the evil with goodness.”
Romans 12:17-21(WNT)

From our opening scripture, we see that we are to overcome evil with good.

Today, I will like to appeal to your conscience. If you know that you have really been offending others with your attitude, I will like you to write a letter of apology, send a text or make a call to apologize for the things you have done to offend others.

Why is this important? It is important because as they forgive you for what you have done against them, you will also experience release. I encourage you to forgive someone and also to receive forgiveness. If you still feel that someone you offended has not forgiven you, it is important that you reach out to them in love so that both of you can be reconciled to one another.

In Matthew 5:43-44(WNT), Jesus says to us, “You have heard that it was said, 'THOU SHALT LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR
and hate thine enemy.' But I command you all, love your enemies, and pray for your persecutors”

My dear friend out there, do what Jesus has said, and I know that the favour of God will be released on your life.

PRAYER
Father in the Name of Jesus I pray that the anointing of the Holy Spirit would mantle me, and grace will be administered to me to forgive, and to overcome all evil with good today and  always. In Jesus Name. Amen.

For further study read:
Luke 6:27-30, Galatians 6:10, 1 Thessalonians 5:15,
1 Peter 3:9, 3 John 1:11.

DOING THE WORD
Dear friend, don't copy the evil deeds of others! Follow the example of people who do kind deeds. They are God's children, but those who are always doing evil have never seen God.
3John 1:11(CEV)

Get your heart right with God.

“And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.”
Acts 8:18-21(KJV)

Notice from our opening scripture today that Peter rebuked Simon that his heart was not right with God because he wanted to purchase the gift of God and the power of the Holy Spirit with money.

This is why in Acts 8:22-23, Peter said to Simon, “Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.”

From the above we see that Simon was still bond to iniquity. Iniquity refers not just to moral wrongfulness of character, life or act, it also means to bend or distort the heart by a repeated pattern of behavior. This is why if you will sit down and talk with those who are trying to break all these bad habits like sexual impurity, etc. you will discover that certain of them have issues with unforgiveness. Some of them have unforgiveness against their fathers, mothers, etc. Until you deal with the issue of unforgiveness, you will not be free from the bond of iniquity.

If you are reading this devotional today and you are ready to act on the word of God to you today to forgive someone who you have been holding an offence against, I pray that God would grant you grace to release those people today in Jesus Name. Amen.

So, go ahead and release them because as you do, you are releasing yourself into the freedom that God has designed for you.

PRAYER
Dear Father, on account of your word in John 8:36 that says, “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” I thank you for making me free from the bond of bitterness and iniquity, because I have submitted to the Lordship of your son Jesus. I announce that I am free indeed in Jesus Name. Amen.

Stop satan's work.

“For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.” James 3:16(KJV)

Some people do not know why they keep on having one problem or the other in their lives. Some will tell you, how their car had a problem last week, and their house almost got burnt last month, at another time a car hit their child. If you are having series of problems such as these in your life, I will encourage you to stay away from strife.

If you will stay away from strife, I tell you based on the Word of God, that you will stop every evil work. You can stop satan in his tracks. All it takes is for you to walk in love and choose to forgive.

Do you know that addictive behavior is traced to bitterness? Hebrews 12:15-16 says, “Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.”  So, if you want to break your bad habits, you must choose to forgive others and choose not to hold them bound. If you don't, you will remain vulnerable to satan.

For example, some people have refused to forgive their father because he had some children outside of wedlock, now they also have become bound to the same weakness because they now have children outside of wedlock.

So, you need to forgive people if you don't want to repeat their sin. There are certain young men today who have gotten second and third wives who never intended to, but because they continued to hold unforgiveness and bitterness in their hearts, they have made the same mistake.

Therefore, to stop certain trends you see in your family that are like generational curses, you need to forgive those you are holding bitterness against in your family. And as you do you will liberate yourself from every form of addiction and oppression.

PRAYER
Father I liberate myself completely from every form of generational curse, addiction and oppression of the devil, even as I totally let go of every envy and strife in Jesus Name, Amen.

For further study read:
Job 5:2, Proverbs 14:30.

DOING THE WORD
Be subject, then, to God; stand up against the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7(YLT)

Wednesday, 21 November 2012

Don't give strife room in your heart.

“Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.” James 3:13-15(KJV)

When you have bitterness and envying in your heart, it will open your heart to the wrong kind of wisdom. There are three words used to describe the wrong kind of wisdom in our opening scripture. This wrong kind of wisdom is; earthly, sensual and devilish. So, when you have bitterness, envying and strife in your heart, demonic activity is released into your life.

Therefore, if you don't want to see demonic activity in your life, stay away from strife and do not give it any place in your heart. Strife is satan's bait to get you into bitterness and quarrels.

Don't listen to those voices that tell you to avenge yourself because of what someone has done to you. Don't listen to those voices that tell you not to cook for your husband because of something he said or did, and husband don't listen to those voices that tell you not to give money to your wife so that she can suffer. Don't do that because that is the bait of satan to bring bitterness and quarrels into your home.

James 3:16 says, “For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.”  Therefore, if you are having confusion, quarrels and commotion in your home, office, church, etc. It is because there is envying and strife among you, so, if you will deal with envying and strife all these confusions and quarrelling will not be there.

Satan has access into any home where there is strife. Therefore, don't give place to strife in your heart because if you do, you are giving the devil access into your life.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I pray that you remove from my life every one that has been assigned by satan to stir up strife and bring confusion, quarrels and commotion into my home, office, church, and every area of my life. In Jesus Name. Amen.

1 Corinthians 3:3, 1 Corinthians 14:33, James 3:17-18.

Doing the word
Try to get along and live peacefully with each other. Now I pray that God, who gives love and peace, will be with you. 2 Corinthians 13:11(CEV).

Don't hinder your prayers.

“In a similar way, you husbands must live with your wives in an understanding manner, as with a most delicate vessel. Honor them as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing may interfere with your prayers.” 1 Peter 3:7(ISV).

God wants you to treat your wife as a delicate vessel. This means that you must be very tender with her. Why does God want you to treat your wife this way? So that your prayers be not hindered.

Some husbands have been praying and fasting for progress and they are not seeing it. The bible says that if you are having bitterness against your wife, your prayers will be hindered. So, the hinderance you are experiencing is not because the witches in your village are as powerful as you think, but it is because of the fact that you have given satan license into your life because of bitterness. So today, I ask you to forgive any one in your life you are holding bitterness against so that you can rebuke the devil and command him to leave your life right now.

The bible says in 2 Corinthians 10:6, “And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.”  So, when you have fully forgiven and let go of all bitterness in your heart, then you will be ready to judge any loss caused by satan in your life and cast him out. Always remember that God will restore to you seven fold whatever have been stolen from you when you forgive. Therefore, forgive because that is what the Spirit of God is saying to us in this season.

PRAYER
Father as an obedient child, I have forgiven and released all bitterness from my heart. Therefore, I judge every loss caused by satan in my life, and I declare that it is restored back to me in seven fold in Jesus Name. Amen.

Love unconditionally 2.

“Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.”
Ephesians 4:31-32(KJV)

From our opening scripture we see that God forgave us for Christ sake, not because we deserved it, He did it for Christ sake. You must learn to forgive others just as God has forgiven you. So, if God has given you forgiveness, you ought to give the same to someone else.

In 1 Peter 3:7 Peter was addressing husbands, and he said, “Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.”

Husband the Bible admonishes you to treat your wife with honour. Don't treat you wife like a wet dish rag. In other words, don't treat your wife as someone without value. I want you to know that if you treat your wife better, that heart problem will go.

There is a young man reading this devotional right now, you've got a heart condition and you are beginning to find yourself losing strength, and you are not as strong as you use to be, but if you will start treating your wife better than you are treating her right now, you will find out that you will be healthier.

In fact as you are reading this, you are beginning to feel the power of God because the Lord is healing you right now.

If you are that individual or you have a similar condition, I want you to pray this prayer with me right now, say, “Father, in the Name of Jesus, I forgive my wife of all the offenses that she has committed against me, I let go of them all right now in the Name of Jesus. Devil in the Name of Jesus, I command you to take your hands off my heart, I receive my healing now in Jesus Name, Amen.”

We will like to hear from you so we can rejoice with you. So you can call or text any of the numbers you find either at the beginning or at the last pages of this devotional so we can hear your testimony. God bless you.

Love unconditionally 1.

“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it”
Ephesians 5:25(KJV)

Today, I want to show you why some husbands and their wives are not experiencing as much progress as they were experiencing before they got married. Husbands and wives are meant to live in love. In Colossians 3:18-19, the Bible says, “Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.”

When the word of God admonishes husbands to love their wives, He expects them to love their wives unconditionally. It does not matter if you are a young man, middle aged man or an old man, if you do not love your wife unconditionally, you do not love her. This is because the word for love in the verse we just read above is 'agape.' Agape means unconditional love. It is an unconditional commitment to the well being of another. This means that every husband must seek the well being of his wife if you are going to see genuine progress.

Hebrews 12:15 says,  “Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled”  There are some men out there who have fallen from the grace and favour of God because they are bitter against their wives. As a man or woman, by the time you begin to live in bitterness against your spouse, you will open the door to satan to bring trouble into  your home. But if you refuse to live in bitterness, you will be free no matter what the witches do against you, they would have no inroad into your life.

Ephesians 4:26-27 says, “Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil.” From this scripture we can see that satan's opportunity into your home or your marriage is anger. So, today, let go of anger and bitterness in your heart and forgive your husband or your wife.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for teaching me the Bible way to love. Thank you Father for grace to love everyone; including my wife and my husband unconditionally even as Christ loves me and gave himself for me in Jesus Name. Amen.

Walk in love 2

“Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.”
1 John 3:13(KJV)
.

From our opening scripture, the word of God is telling you today not to be surprised if the world hates you. The world hates you because they are in darkness. 1 John 3:14 says, “We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.”

The reason why death has had dominion over a lot of persons is because of hatred and bitterness in their hearts. Living with hatred and bitterness in your heart will open you up to sickness and disease. And also, one of the reasons why sickness has lingered in the bodies of some persons is because of bitterness. If you will forgive today, you will experience genuine health.

1 John 3: 15 says, “Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.” If you continue to walk in hatred, unforgiveness and anger, you will find out the life of God in you will not dominate your body. So, I encourage you to forgive today.

A Jewish Rabbi told his people that if they can forgive twice that will be great, but Peter asked the Lord in Matthew 18:21, “… Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?” When Peter asked till seven times? Probably he expected commendation from Jesus, but Jesus said unto him in Matthew 18:22, “I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.” In other words, you will have to keep on forgiving and forgiving.

If you will deal with unforgiveness and bitterness in your heart, you will not need long prayers and fasting to be free. All you will just need is to forgive all those people you are bitter against.

Prayer
Today, I let go of every person who I have been bitter against in my heart. I choose to forgive them of every wrong which they have done to me. Dear Father, I thank you because your love fills my heart and you teach me how to walk with all men in love and wisdom. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Doing the word
"... love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you, so that you will become children of your Father in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and the good, and he lets rain fall on the righteous and the unrighteous. For if you love those who love you, what reward will you have? Even the tax collectors do the same, don't they? And if you greet only your brothers, what great thing are you doing? Even the gentiles do the same, don't they? So be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect." Matthew 5:44-48.

Walk in love 1

“He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.”
1 John 2:10-11(KJV).

From our opening scripture, we can see that if you as a born again child of God refuses to walk in love with your brother in Christ and you choose to live in unforgiveness and bitterness, you will abide in darkness. So, living in unforgivness can keep you under the oppression of the devil.

Colossians 1:13 says, “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:” From this scripture, we can see that as a child of God, you are not supposed to experience any oppression of the devil in your life, so why are you experiencing such oppression in your life? The Bible says in our opening scripture that it is because you hate your brother. Your brother in this context can be your neighbor, your boss, your friend, your wife, your husband, etc. So long as you have that hatred, the Bible says that you are in darkness until now.

1 John 2:10 says, “He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.” From this we can see that if you are walking in love consistently with your brother, you abide, that is, remain in the light. Light is the symbol of God while darkness is the symbol of satan.

Therefore, as you keep on walking in love with other people and forgiving them, you remain under the umbrella of God's light. And the bible tells us in John 1:5 that, “the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” In other words, darkness cannot overcome light.

So, if I want to keep on having victory to victory consistently, it is important that I learn to forgive and not hold anger and practice the Words of Jesus in Matthew 5:43-45, “Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven …”   For as you do what the Word of God says, you are going to get Bible results and you will be free from all oppressions of satan.

CONFESSION
The love of God is shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit. I have the love of God increasing and abounding in my heart every day. God has not given me the spirit of fear, but of love and of a sound mind. The love of God reigns and rules in my heart above every form of bitterness and ungodliness. Amen.

Let go of bitterness.

“Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled”
Hebrews 12:15(KJV).

From our opening scripture, we see that the reason why many persons are not experiencing the favor of God in their lives is because of anger. If you are not experiencing the favour of God in your life right now, it is not because the witches in your village are very powerful; it might be because you have refused to forgive others.

Another thing you would observe from our opening scripture about bitterness is that, when you have bitterness inside of you, it will trouble you. In other words, that bitterness from within you will give place to the devil, who will come into your life with many troubles.

Bitterness defiles your spirit. And when your spirit is defiled with bitterness in this way, you give the devil license to influence your life, and when that happens, you will become vulnerable to sin. I want you to observe this from Hebrews 12:15-16, “Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.”
I have found out that people who have addictive behavior can trace that addiction to unforgiveness. So, learn to forgive people today and let go of those who have hurt you right from childhood and just forgive them, you will find that you will begin to experience the progress that you want to see.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I surrender my heart to you and to the love of God. I thank you for your love is shed in my heart by the Holy Spirit that you have given to me. I thank you for your grace is released towards me to release me from bitterness and every addictive behavior. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Give no place to the devil.

“Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil.”
Ephesians 4:26-27(KJV)

From our opening scripture, we can see that through anger, the devil can gain influence over the life of a Christian because anger can give place to the devil in our lives. The word place in this verse is from the Greek word 'topos' meaning, license or opportunity. So, don't give the enemy license into your life by keeping anger.

If you are angry with others and you remain angry for months, that anger will develop into bitterness. I want you to know that bitterness and anger is satan's opportunity into your life. Satan will use that as a bait to ruin your life. I will like to show you the consequences of bitterness.

Hebrews 12:15 says, “Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;”  The grace in this verse we just read is from the Greek word 'charis' meaning favour. This means that when you are angry with someone who did something against you and you keep on holding that in your heart, the bible says it will trouble you and you will fall from favour with God.

In Matthew 18:23-35 where the Bible talks about forgiveness, one servant refused to forgive the other, and as a result of his unforgiveness, his lord cast him to the tormentors.  Some of you reading this devotional right now may be experiencing a lot of hardship, things are difficult and it is as though you are cursed. I want you to know that if you will forgive the people who have wronged you, you will find out that you will begin to come out from some of these bondage that you are going through today.

PRAYER
Dear Father, today in obedience to your word to me, I let go of all bitterness and anger that I have held against all those who have wronged me. I choose to bless and not curse in Jesus Name. Amen.

Stand against the wiles of the devil.

“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”
Ephesians 6:11(KJV).

From our opening scripture, the Bible makes it clear that we can all stand against all the wiles of the devil if we put on the whole armour of God.

What are the wiles of the devil? The wile of the devil refers to the trickery and deceits of the devil. So, if you are going into spiritual warfare, you must go into spiritual warfare with truth.

In modern warfare, there are two very important things that you must take note of; the first thing is, you must know your enemy, and secondly, you must understand the antics and the strategies of your enemy.

In 2 Corinthians 2:11, “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.”  The word devices here is from the Greek word 'noema' which means, purpose, intellect, thought, etc. So, we can see that the devil intentionally devices plans to flaw the believer and to gain advantage of him. Therefore, if I know how satan schemes and what he does to take advantage of me, then I am going to have victory.

The number one wile I want us to deal with is anger. Ephesians 4:26 says, “Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:” So, the Word is saying to us that if you get angry, do not sin in your anger or let the sun go down on your wrath. In other words, if somebody annoys you, don't take the anger into the next day. You must learn to forgive quickly if you are going to have victory over the enemy.

PRAYER
Father, I thank you for giving me the victory over the enemy and all His plans against me.
I thank you Father, for all satan's plans, tricks and deceits against me shall all be brought to naught even as I live in obedience to the truth of your word, in Jesus Name. Amen.

Be empowered.

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”
Ephesians 6:10(KJV).

In our opening scripture, the Word of God tells us to be strong in the Lord. The word 'strong' there is from the Greek word 'endunamoo' which means; 'to be empowered.' In other words, the Word of God is telling us to be empowered in the Lord. That means that Christ in you is your ability.

The Bible tells us in Joel 3:10, “…let the weak say, I am strong.” So, even when you feel weak, declare that you are strong. This is because the Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 12:9, “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness …”  The word strength in this verse, is from the Greek word 'dunamis' which means power. In other words, the Word is saying to you that God's power is made perfect in weakness. So, even when you feel weak, the ability of God is made available to you, if you will learn to see yourself in Christ.

The Bible says to you in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”  This means that our empowerment and ability comes from Christ.

In Isaiah 40:29-31, “He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:  But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

PRAYER
Dear Father, I give you thanks for your ability is at work in me. My strength is daily been renewed by your spirit which strengthens me with might in my inward man. Your grace is sufficient for me and your strength is made perfect in every area of weakness in my life in Jesus Name. Amen.

For further study read:
2 Corinthians 12:10, 2 Corinthians 3:5-6, Ephesians 3:14-16, Colossians 1:9-11.

DOING THE WORD
No matter how you feel or what is happening around you, be strong in the Lord as you continue to call yourself what He calls you.

Are you saved?

“For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.” Ephesians 5:5-6(KJV)

If you are not born again and you are reading this devotional right now, you need to receive Christ even now, because you are not fully protected if you are not in Christ. You are open to satan, and satan can ruin your life and diminish you.

It has been said that, “If you are not saved, you are not safe.” Until you receive Jesus Christ, you are not safe. This is because the word 'safe' is from the Greek word 'sozo,' which means to be rescued; it means to be brought to safety. It also means to be delivered, protected, healed, preserved, to do well and to make whole.

So, the man that is not born again has not been brought to safety. If you really want to experience genuine spiritual freedom, the first thing is to be born again, which is to receive Jesus Christ into your life right now. So, if you are not born again, pray this prayer with me right now, Say out loud “O God, I believe in Jesus Christ.

Amen.”

You need to know that now that you are born again, satan has no claim over your life. You are no longer under the oppression and control of satan. The Bible says in Colossians 1:12-14, “Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.”

DOING THE WORD

You have been delivered.

“And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”
Hebrews 2:15(KJV).

From our opening scripture, we understand that when Jesus Christ died on the cross, He broke the power of satan over your life and delivered you from the fear of death and bondage. Therefore, you need to become aware of your deliverance, and know that satan has no claims over your soul because the blood of Jesus has been shed.

You need to understand that the blood of Jesus has claimed your soul from satan. That is why the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 6:20, “For ye are bought with a price …” If you have been bought with a price, it means that you are not your own but God's. So, you belong to God right now and satan has no legal claims on your life.

In Colossians 1:12-13 the Bible says, “Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:” This means that the day you got born again, you were removed from the power of darkness. The word 'power' in this context means authority and control. This means that satan has no right to control your life as a child of God because you have been removed from his authority and control from the day you got born again.
Every one that is not born again is in the kingdom of darkness, whether they like it or not, they are under the power of satan. This is according to Ephesians 2:2 which says, “Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:” This clearly shows us that the unbeliever is under the influence of an evil spirit, but the man in Christ have been totally delivered from the power and control of darkness.

CONFESSION
Dear Father, I thank you for you have qualified me to be a partaker of the inheritance of the saints in light. I have been delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the kingdom of God's dear son. Satan has no power or control over my life. Amen.

Satan has no power over you.

“Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:”
Galatians 1:3-4(KJV).

Notice from our opening scripture, that Jesus gave Himself for our sins that He might deliver us from this present evil world. So, this lets us know that this present world is evil, but the truth is that Jesus Christ has died on the cross to deliver us from this present evil world. That means that the death of Jesus Christ breaks the power of satan over your life.

Right now, on account of the death of Jesus Christ on the cross for you, satan has no legal right over your life. A lot of Christians are not aware of this, so they are still been oppressed and tormented by satan because they do not know the truth.

The Bible tells you here from our opening scripture that the Lord Jesus, “gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:” Hebrews 2:14 says, “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;” Notice that the scripture says that through death, He might destroy him that has the power of death, that is, the devil. That means when Jesus Christ died on the cross, He broke the power of satan over your life.

Therefore live your life with the understanding of this truth, that through death (the death of Jesus on the cross), He destroyed him that has the power of death, that is the devil. The word destroy there is from the Greek word 'katargeo' it means to paralyze, to make of none effect, to bring to nothing or to reduce to zero. This means that the death of Christ has diminished the power of satan over your life. Now, satan has no power over your life.

CONFESSION
I believe and therefore have I spoken: satan has no power over me because the death of Jesus has diminished satan's power. I have victory over satan, sickness, weakness, disease, fear, death and hell. I am a joint heir with Jesus seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

You are free.

“Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, …”
Ephesians 6:14(KJV).

Notice from our opening scripture, that one of the weapons you need to go into spiritual warfare with is 'truth'.

A lot of people don't go into spiritual warfare with the right information. John 17:17 says, “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” So, if you are going to go into prayer, and spiritual warfare, you must know the Word of God. This is because we are dealing with a deceiving, sleek, sly, trickish enemy. So, you need to get truth.

The bible tells us in John 8:32, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Notice that He said, you shall know the truth. This means that for the truth to make you free, you'd have to know the truth. This is because it is the truth you know that will make you free. In other words, you are as free as the truth you know.

Freedom is the experience of those who know the truth. Until you know the truth, you would not be free. For instance, Colossians 1:13 says, “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.” But many Christians are still bound because they don't know that they have been delivered. They don't know that the power of satan has been broken from their lives by the death of Jesus Christ. Now that you know, free yourself from every yoke of bondage with the truth of God's word.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for sending Jesus to die for me and to make me free from the power and control of darkness. Your word says in John 8:36, “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” Therefore in line with your word, I thank you that I am free from every form of bondage and oppression of the devil, from this day forward, in Jesus Name. Amen.

“When trouble comes …”

“… Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.”
John 11:3(KJV).

From our opening scripture, we read the message that was sent by the sisters of Lazarus to Jesus. At this time, the family of Lazarus was experiencing their own evil day, so they called out to Jesus for help.

Another thing I want you to notice is the fact that they said, “… he whom thou lovest is sick.” From this, we see that even though Jesus loved Lazarus, he was still sick. So, the fact that a situation has gone wrong in your life does not mean that God does not love you. It just means that you have an enemy called the devil that is working against you.

In 1 Thessalonians 2:18, Paul said, “Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us.” Notice that Paul wanted to go to them, but satan hindered him.

It is important that you know that there are such things as hindering spirits, and the real person hindering you is satan not human beings. In 2 Thessalonians 1:6(BBE), the Bible says, “For it is an act of righteousness on God's part to give trouble as their reward to those who are troubling you.” So, you don't have to bother yourself about human enemies, the bible says that God will reward them with trouble. Your real enemy is satan, and the Bible shows you how to deal  with him in Ephesians 6:13, “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for I know that whatever or whosoever comes against me would fall for my sake. I thank you Father for I know that nothing can separate me from your love which is in Christ Jesus. Thank you Father for in all these things, I am more than a conqueror through Him that loved me. Amen.

Be God conscious.

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
Isaiah 41:10(KJV).

Always remember that you are never without supernatural assistance, for God has said, “I am with you.” Therefore, you must become God conscious when you go through challenges.

From our opening scripture the Lord said, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee:” This means that, being God conscious is the cure for fear. Therefore, if you are going to lose your fear, you must become God conscious. And whenever you are afraid, it shows that you are self conscious.

If you are going through any form of challenge right now, I want you to know this and take this as a Word from God for you today, “Everyone who hates you will be terribly disgraced; those who attack will vanish into thin air.  You will look around for those brutal enemies, but you won't find them because they will be gone. I am the LORD your God. I am holding your hand, so don't be afraid. I am here to help you.”
Isaiah 41:11-13(CEV).

So, you see that God has already guaranteed our victory in the Word of God. So, if you would only believe the Word of God, you will start experiencing real victory.

CONFESSION
God is in me. God is with me. God is for me. I am what God says I am. I have what God says I have. I can do what God says I can do. Greater is He that is in me, than He that is in the world.
I refuse to fear because I am strong, the word of God abides in me, and I have overcome the wicked one.

A very present help in trouble.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Psalm 46:1(KJV).

From our opening scripture, we can see that there is a day of trouble. It comes to everybody. It comes to the rich and the poor, the strong and the weak, the educated and the illiterate. It is important for you to know what to do in the evil day when it comes. Also, some of you reading this devotional right now may be going through an evil day right now, and you are wondering what you are supposed to do. The way out of it is for you to put on the whole armour of God.

1 Corinthians 10:13 says, “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” So, if that evil comes to you in form of a temptation, challenge or a problem, know that it is not peculiar to you, it is common to man. It comes to everybody.

Psalm 91:15 says, “He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.” So, you need to know that there is a day that trouble will come to you, and you need to be prepared with the whole armour of God when that day comes.

Isaiah 43:1 says, “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.” Notice from the above scripture that the bible repeatedly says, “when thou passest through”. He used the word 'when', He did not use the word 'if' which is conditional. So, there is a day that trouble is going to come, but God is saying, He will be with you to deliver you, for He is a very present help in trouble. So, be rest assured knowing that whatever comes against you cannot destroy you.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for I cannot be defeated because I have put on the whole armor of God. And Father I thank you because I know that your presence with me has made me indestructible no matter what comes against me. In Jesus Name. Amen.

For further study read:
Psalm 91:1-16.

DOING THE WORD
No matter what comes against you, put on the whole armour of God that you may stand in the evil day.

We wrestle not against flesh and blood.

“For we are not fighting against human beings but against the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world, the rulers, authorities, and cosmic powers of this dark age.”
Ephesians 6:12(GNB).

Human beings are not our real enemies in spiritual warfare according to our opening scripture. Though human beings may be used, influenced, dominated, possessed, obsessed and controlled by devils, but the real enemy is the devil himself.

Also, it is important you know that there are four hierarchies of devils we are dealing with in spiritual warfare. They are listed in Ephesians 6:12. They are: Principalities, Powers, The rulers of the darkness of this world, Spiritual wickedness in high places.

So, let this be known to you, that your real enemy is the devil. Since you now know that your real enemy are devils, it therefore means that you must carry-out your warfare with spiritual weapons (the armour of God). This is why Ephesians 6:13 says, “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

I've always advised the body of Christ that we don't need physical weapons to fight spiritual battles. When the evil day comes as the bible says in Ephesians 6:13, will you be able to stand?

The Bible says in Proverbs 24:10, “If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.”  This day of adversity is what Paul calls the evil day. So, for you to be able to stand in the evil day, you need to put on the whole armour of God.

PRAYER
Father, I thank you for enlightening the eyes of my spiritual understanding with truth. May the strength which this truth provides, grant me unending victory in the evil day as I put on the whole armour of God. In Jesus Name. Amen.

For further study read:
Romans 13:12, 2 Corinthians 6:7.

DOING THE WORD
Do not carry-out spiritual warfare with physical weapons, they will fail you.

Go for the truth in the word of God.

“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil… Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth …”
Ephesians 6:11,14(KJV).

Our opening scripture lets us know that we are dealing with a scheming devil. A devil that is trying to outwit us, therefore, we need to use the knowledge of truth in the word of God to stand against all the wiles (lies or deceit) of the devil.

2 Corinthians 11:2-3(ISV) says, “I am jealous of you with God's own jealousy, because I promised you in marriage to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ.  However, I am afraid that just as the serpent deceived Eve by its tricks, so your minds may somehow be lured away from sincere and pure devotion to Christ.” From the above scripture, we see that one of the ways satan corrupts the minds of people is by deceit. This is why we need to have the truth, so that we can always have victory in spiritual warfare.

Ephesians 6:12 says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”  The Good News Bible of Ephesians 6:12 reads thus: “For we are not fighting against human beings but against the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world, the rulers, authorities, and cosmic powers of this dark age.”  So, we can see from the above that we are not in warfare against human beings. Your real enemy in spiritual warfare is the devil and his cohorts and their major wile against
us is deceit, which is why you must continually stand in the truth of the word of God.

PRAYER

DOING THE WORD
Put on the whole armour of God prescribed in
Ephesians 6:14-17.

Guard your heart against deception.

“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”
Revelations 12:9(KJV)

From our opening scripture, we see that satan gains control over the lives of people by deception. So the way to obtain victory in spiritual warfare begins with truth.

Revelations 20:7-8 says, “And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth …” So, we see that satan deceives people, and the only weapon you have against deception is truth.

In 2 Corinthians 2:11, the bible says, “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.” Notice, that satan takes advantage of the ignorant. So, if you are going to excel in spiritual warfare, you must not be ignorant.

Ignorance is terrible. It has been said that, “The strength of the oppressor is the ignorance of the oppressed.” So, you need to get accurate knowledge of the Word of God if you are going to excel in spiritual warfare. That is why satan hates truth. This is why Jesus said in John 8:44 speaking of the devil, Jesus said, “He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”

So, we now know that every lie has its origin in satan.

In Acts 5:3, Peter told Ananias, “… why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost …” So, we can see that satan gains control over people through lies. Therefore, guard your heart against satan's deception.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I pray that you expose every seed of falsehood that have entered into my belief system in Jesus Name. Amen.

Be Strong in the Lord.

“Finally, my brethren, be srong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.” Ephesians 6:10(KJV)

Strength comes from knowing God and His ability. Proverbs 24:5 says, “A wise man is strong, yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.” Then Proverbs 24:10 says,” if thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small,” In other words, to increase knowledge is to increase strength.

The bible tells us in Daniel 11:32. “… but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” In other words, knowledge strengthens you. So, it is important that you go for the knowledge of truth in the word of God.

Ephesians 6:11 says, “put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” Notice the word of God is telling us here to be clothed with the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against all the wiles of the devil. Take note that the purpose of putting on the armour is that you will be able to withstand all the wiles of the devils.

You need to understand what the word ‘wiles’ means. Wiles is from the Greek word ‘methodeia. ‘It means, ‘ methods. travesty, tickery, wiles, to lie in wait. Strategies or deceit’.  So, we know from this that satan’s way of working is by deceit.

So when you put on the whole armour of God, you will be strengthened against all the deceits of the devil.

PRAYER
Father I thank you for as I receive knowledge of the truth of your world, I thank you for strength rises in my spirit to enable me stand against all the deceits of the devil. In Jesus Name. Amen .
