"And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight." 1 John 3:22 (KJV)
Our opening scripture today is showing us one of the keys to answered prayer. If you want to receive answers to your prayers promptly, then you would have to keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. What are these commandments He is referring to here?
1 John 3:23 (AMP) tells us, "And this is His order (His command, His injunction): that we should believe in (put our faith and trust in and adhere to and rely on) the name of His Son Jesus Christ (the Messiah), and that we should love one another, just as He has commanded us."
This is our commandment: Put your faith and trust in the Name of Jesus Christ and love others as He has commanded us. We see this commandment stated by Jesus in:
John 13:34 (KJV)
"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another."
I encourage you to continue to live a life that is pleasing to God by practicing a lifestyle of love even as the Bible urges us in:
Hebrews 13:16 (GW)
"Don't forget to do good things for others and to share what you have with them. These are the kinds of sacrifices that please God."
Instruction
I encourage you to take practical steps to make peace, especially with those believers you have offended.
For further study, read:
Hebrews 13:1 (NKJV)
"Let brotherly love continue."
Hebrews 10:24 (NKJV)
"And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works."
Romans 12:10 (NKJV)
"Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another."
Galatians 5:13 (NKJV)
"For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another."
Ephesians 4:3 (NKJV)
"Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace."
Philippians 2:1-3 (NKJV)
"Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself."
Doing the Word.
I encourage you to make peace with everyone you offended. So, make a call, visit, or buy them a gift. Whatever you do, ensure that you pursue peace with all men.
