“And God created
great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought
forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and
God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and
multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.”
Genesis 1:21-22(KJV)
From our opening
scripture, we see that whenever God creates a thing, He blesses it. The blessing
puts an end to shortage. The blessing prolongs your days.
In Genesis 24:1
the Bible says, “And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the
LORD had blessed Abraham in all things.” That blessing of productivity
continued to function in Abraham’s life that even after Sarah died, Abraham
married Keturah. In Genesis 15:1 the Bible says, “Then again Abraham took a
wife, and her name was Keturah.” And she bore him six sons, meaning that
Abraham still had strength at old age because the blessing was still working in
him. This shows us that the blessing renews your youth.
In Genesis 1:28,
the Bible says, “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and
multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion …” This
shows us that the blessing activates your dominion and empowers you for
dominion.
When Adam sinned
against God, God cursed the ground for Adam’s sake in Genesis 3:17. So, as a
result of Adam’s sin, the curse came upon all men. But when Noah was born, his
father Lamech said concerning his son in Genesis 5:29(GNB) “From the very
ground on which the LORD put a curse, this child will bring us relief from all
our hard work"; so he named him Noah.” This word was fulfilled in Noah’s life in Genesis
8:20-21, “And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean
beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And
the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not
again curse the ground any more for man's sake…” And then in Genesis 9:1-2, God
blessed Noah and his sons and restored dominion back to man. Today every curse on
the ground because of Adam’s sin has been removed by the blessing. Praise God.
