Jesus is your standard.

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith …”
Hebrews 12:2(KJV)

Any Christianity that is less than what we see in Jesus and the Apostles is substandard Christianity.

Therefore, make up your mind not to settle for anything that's less than God's best. But instead, grow up into Him in all things. This is because it is your destiny to be like Jesus and to do the works of Jesus.

Do you know that your hands and every part of your body are the members of Christ? The Bible says in Ephesians 5:30, “For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.”

Therefore, your hands are His hands. So use your hands to heal the sick and raise the dead, because now you know that you are the body of Christ.

In 1 Corinthians 6:15 the Bible says, “Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ?” In other words, he is telling us that our physical bodies is plugged into Christ. Therefore, what should not be in Jesus should not be in your body.

This is because the same anointing that flows in Christ flows in you also.

Make this confession aloud, say; “My body belongs to Christ, Jesus finds expression through my body.”

The Bible says in Ephesians 1:22-23, “And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.” According to the Bible, if God has put all things under the feet of Christ and the Bible says that you are the body of Christ, it therefore means that all things have been put under your feet, and the fullness of Christ is in you.

CONFESSION
I belong to Christ and Jesus is my Lord, my body belongs to Christ, Jesus finds expression through my body. I am seated together with Him in heavenly places, am far above all principalities, powers, might and dominion. All things are under my feet because I function with the authority of Christ. Amen.

LIVE LIKE JESUS

“Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.”
2 Corinthians 3:6 (KJV)

From our opening scripture, we see that we have received of the fullness of Christ. God wants you to be filled with everything that Jesus contains. That is our destiny in God. He wants you to function in every grace that Jesus had.

God wants you to heal the sick and cast out devils like Jesus. God wants you to win souls, pray and love others like Jesus. But not many of us are living in that destiny. Some are living and suffering like everybody else. That's not living like Jesus.

In the scriptures, when there was no money, Jesus got the money out of the mouth of the fish. If they lacked bread, Jesus multiplied the bread. There was no hopeless situation with Jesus. That is the kind of life that God wants you to live.

God's grace and His fullness is in you. The faith of the Son of God is in you. Paul the Apostle said in Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

That should be your meditation and your confession as well. Live your life by the faith of the Son of God who loved you and gave Himself for you.

CONFESSION
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

VISION

“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”
Proverbs 29:18(KJV)

Vision in our opening scripture refers to prophetic insight. In other words, where there is no insight, the people perish. Vision can also be defined as insight with foresight. It is the ability to see into the future.

A vision can also be defined as a revelation of God’s redemptive plan and your role in it. So, where there is no redemptive revelation, the people perish. They become disorganized. So if we are going to be organized as the Body of Christ or as individuals, we must understand God's vision.

Churches are been started all around the world and not many of them know or even has God's vision. For many it is an assumption or a reaction. But until we get a hold of  the concept of vision, the Body of Christ will still be behind.

One of the most influential men in the world said he lives with a sense of mission and a sense of purpose. Yet some Christians don't even know that there is a purpose for their lives.

You have to live with a sense of purpose to be able to impact the world.

I remember watching a business man been interviewed, he said, “I never do anything to make money, I only do things to make a difference.” Today he is a billionaire. They are able to achieve these things because they lived with a sense of purpose.

Therefore, if your life is going to make a global impact, you must live within God's vision for your life with a sense of purpose and direction.

Living with a sense of purpose will organize you and set you on the path of prosperity and increase.

PRAYER
Dear Father I thank you because you anoint the eyes of my heart today, so that I can have prophetic insight into your plan and purpose for my life, my ministry, my family and every area of my life in Jesus Name. Amen.

DOING THE WORD
Let your earnest plan and desire be to accomplish God's plan and purpose for your life.

Shine in your purpose.

“For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.”
Romans 8:29(KJV)

The word 'foreknow' in our opening scripture means to 'know beforehand', 'to foreordain', 'to foresee'. In other words, God knew us beforehand, foreordained and foresaw us before we were born into this world.

The word 'predestinate' means 'to determine beforehand,' 'to mark off.' In other words, God has marked you for your destiny. God has marked your path. There is a predestined path for you.

Ephesians 2:10(AMP) says, “For we are God's [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined [planned beforehand]for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].” When you enter that path you will only experience a greater glory each day.

This is why the Bible says in Proverbs 4:18(AMP), “But the path of the [uncompromisingly] just and righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines more and more

(brighter and clearer) until [it reaches its full strength and glory in] the perfect day [to be prepared].”

Do you want to shine? Then follow the path that God has ordained for you to follow. Find that path and start walking in it until the perfect day. The perfect day is the day when you stand before Jesus, shining in all His glory.

Another way to shine is to get involved with His plan of salvation. Become a soul winner and start leading others to Christ. As you do, the Bible says in Daniel 12:3, “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.” Praise God.

PRAYER
Thank you Dear Father for foreordaining me and determining beforehand that I should fulfill this destiny that you have assigned for me. I thank you for as I walk in it, my path will shine brightly more and more until the perfect day. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Sufficient Grace.

“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
2 Corinthians 12:9(KJV)

Today, it doesn't matter where you weakness lies, I want you to trust God’s grace to empower you in your area of weakness. You may ask, “my father and my mother never married, can I still fulfill my purpose?” Yes you can. He wants you to be a trophy of grace.

Someone else may say, “I was abandoned, but someone picked me up. Can I still fulfill my  purpose?” Yes you can. For that is why He protected you from been killed when you were abandoned. God's purpose for your life preserved you.

Have you heard the story of Duncan Williams? His mother was pregnant with twins, in the course of the pregnancy she started bleeding, and she was advised to abort the baby. They never knew that there were two babies in her womb, and they were alive. Since there was no scanning, they aborted the first baby thinking that was the only baby in her womb. But the baby left in the womb grew till full term and she gave birth to it. That was how Duncan Williams was born.

His mother told him this story many years later of how he would have been aborted.

Duncan Williams said, “she couldn't have aborted me because God had a purpose for my life.” That's why with all your mother went through when she was about to give birth to you, you did not die. It is because God wanted you, your purpose was so important to God, so He protected you in His grace.

Paul the Apostle said in 1 Corinthians 15:10, “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

PRAYER
Dear Father I thank you because your grace is heavy upon my life. I am daily been energized by your grace. Your grace strengthens me above all my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may be manifested in me. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Let Christ be seen in you.

“…Christ in you, the hope of glory:”
Colossians 1:27(KJV)

When you start prioritizing God's plan for your life, and seeing to it that Christ is seen in you, and in all that has to do with you, it will amaze you what God will begin to do with your life.

Do you know that Jesus was in the ministry for only three and half years and till today we are still talking about what God did with him. Why was His life so full of results? It was because he lived in the perfect will of God, and in three and half years, He lived a life that counted for all eternity.

That is the quality of life that God has called us to live. It is a life that will reveal Jesus. Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” In other words it is our destiny to reveal Jesus. We have been created in Christ Jesus to produce good works.

Therefore the day you got born again, you were born into the will of God for your life, and at that moment you entered into the first phase of God's perfect will for your life. But then you have to move to the next phase where you realize that Christ should be formed in you.

At this level your focus is on Jesus, the author and the finisher of your faith.

Therefore, I encourage you to read the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) so that you can behold Jesus because it is your destiny to produce the same kind of life that Jesus lived.

Always remember and live conscious of this truth that God never intended for you to be ordinary.

CONFESSION
Dear Father I declare that I am your workmanship created in Christ to do good works which You have before ordained that I should walk in them.

God's ultimate purpose.

“My little children, for whom I am again suffering birth pangs until Christ is completely and permanently formed (molded) within you.”
Galatians 4:19(AMP)

God has a plan for your life. You are not a mistake, you are not a waste. You are somebody special. You may say, “they said I will never become anything.” No, you will become what God wants you to be. He called you by His grace to reveal His Son in you.

This is God's number one purpose for your life. God wants to reveal His Son in you. He wants people to look at you and see Jesus. He wants others to see His nature and image reflected through you.

This purpose is in line with one of our commissions as a ministry which is, 'to raise a people who are like Jesus.' That's why our vision statement states; “As we preach the full message of this new life, our goal is to raise a people who are like Jesus, by exposing them to the influence of God's Word and His Spirit in an atmosphere of love, so that they may be able to take the Love of God, the Word of God and the Healing Power of God to every individual within their sphere of contact.”

His number one purpose for you is not to make you a millionaire, or to give you a house, but to reveal His Son in you. All the other things that you will need will come to you freely as consequences of the redemption. The primary aim of the redemption is for Christ to be revealed through you.

As a Christian, God wants Christ to be so revealed in your life in such a way that when others look at you, they see Christ. He wants others to see Christ through this unique personality of yours. Let Christ be revealed through you in every way. In your smile, in your speech, in your manner of life, etc. to the point that your life will be preaching the gospel.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for more of your grace is released towards me. I thank you because the character of Christ is revealed through my life and I am becoming more and more like you each day, in Jesus Name. Amen.

Called by Grace.

“But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace”
Galatians 1:15(KJV)

Our opening scripture lets us know that God desired that you be saved even before you were born. He tried many times to reach you by the gospel of His grace even as He is reaching you today through this devotional.

God's call for salvation on your life is based on His grace (Galatians 1:15). The Bible also says in Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” This means that we are saved by grace and not by works.

You might be out there feeling like you have messed up God's plan for your life because of the wrong things you've done. But I want you to know that God is reaching out to you today with His grace. What is grace?  Grace is unmerited favor. It is a favor you do not deserve. There is nobody on earth that has not been called by His grace.

One of the great Ministers that has carried the power of God to nations around the world said something, he said, “I am a man of many mistakes, I wonder why He still loves me.” This shows that your call is totally by His grace.

Whatever the mistakes you may have made, remember that Jesus already died as payment for that sin. He knew you were going to make mistakes, but He made a remedy in His grace.

Ask for forgiveness and receive grace to live above that issue in your life.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for your grace is sufficient for me and your strength is made perfect in every weakness in my life in Jesus Name. Amen.

You must be born again.

“He will give you and explain to you a message by means of which you and all your household [as well] will be saved [from eternal death].”
Acts 11:14(AMP)

The Bible lets us know in Acts 10:2 that the Roman Centurion Cornelius was “A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.”

Notice, that inspite of all his giving and all his praying, God still needed him to be saved. This is because until you are saved, you cannot enter into God's perfect will for your life. In other for him to be saved, God told him to send for Peter, who shall tell him words by which he will be saved. (Acts 11:13-14). God sent Peter to Cornelius as a Prophet, just like we see in Jeremiah 1:5.

You have to know that when you are born again, Ephesians 2:10 becomes a reality in your life. This is because you become; “his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” From this scripture, the Word is saying to us that we are the product of God. In other words when you get born again, you are reprogrammed into God's original plan and purpose for your life.

If you are not born again, you cannot walk into God's purpose just like that. This is because the unbeliever is hindered by his bad habits and his wicked heart. The Bible lets us know in Ephesians 2:2 that the devil is at work in the life of the unbeliever. That means every unbeliever is under the influence of the devil, weather he knows it or not.

That is why you've got to be born again. Don't remain another day as an unbeliever. If you are reading this devotional and you are not yet born again. You have to get born again today, because every unbeliever is under God's wrath(Ephesians 2:3). That means that the anger of God is upon the unbeliever. Therefore the only way to be saved from God's wrath, is to be born again.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for revealing your original plan of salvation for me and the rest of the world. As I walk in it, may God's peace and the assurance of salvation fill my heart and reprogram my life into Your purpose. In Jesus Name. Amen.

TRUE SUCCESS 2

“For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.”     Romans 8:29(KJV)

From our opening scripture, the Bible says, “For whom he did foreknow …” To foreknow means to know beforehand. In other words, God knew you beforehand and He predestinated you.

To predestinate means to determine beforehand, it also means to set boundaries. In other words there are certain boundaries that God has set for you in life. For instance, I cannot contest for presidency in this country. It is outside the boundaries that God has set for me because of His destiny for my life.

If I were to contest for presidency and I won and went ahead to do great things for Nigeria, I will still be a failure. Why? It is because I am outside of God's will and His plan for my life.

When you discover God plan for your life, trust it and stick with it because your prosperity is right there. The Bible says in Jeremiah 29:11(GNB) “I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for.”

So, no matter where you are today or how small you may have to start in God's plan for your life be confident knowing that, “Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.” (Job 8:7)

Job 8:7 God's Word translation reads thus, “Then what you had in the past will seem small compared with the great prosperity you'll have in the future.” Remember that there is much glory ahead of those who will stick with God's plan for their lives.

PRAYER
Dear Father I thank you for the grace to remain faithful and committed to your plan and purpose for my life in spite of  every distraction. Thank you Father for grace to finish well and finish strong in Jesus Name. Amen.

TRUE SUCCESS 1

“And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.”
Colossians 4:19(KJV)

True success is fulfilling your destiny. Therefore I encourage you today to follow God's dream for your life and measure your success from the fulfilment of God's dream for your life.

God told me on the 5th of April 1996, “Never measure success by outward standards but by inward fulfillment.” This made me know that success is not just measured by what you see. God judges your success with a much higher standard than just what you can see with your eyes.

There was a dear Minister of God who was been praised by different great Ministers of God who brought him on their programs on television talking about his accomplishments and praising him for being an inspiration to many of them in the Body of Christ. But this same Minister of God that has been so praised for his accomplishments came out on one of such programs and said;  God told him that he was a failure.

His life was a paradox. To others who judged his success based on what they saw with their eyes and his accomplishments called him a success, but God judging from what He called him to do and his God given assignment called him a failure.

Even though he won souls and bought buildings for God, God said he was a failure. Why? It is because true success is in fulfilling your destiny.

So the question you need to ask yourself today as you continue in that direction in which you are going is this: “Are you fulfilling your destiny?” If you are, then continue going in that direction. But if you are not, please make the necessary adjustments required and align yourself to the fulfillment of your destiny.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I ask that you expose every seed of falsehood that have entered into my belief system and purify my heart with your truth. In Jesus Name. Amen.

YOUR DESTINY

“But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, To reveal his Son in me”
Galatians 1:15-16a (KJV)

The destiny of every Christian is for Christ to be revealed in them. That is what Christianity is. Christianity is Christ revealed in a human person.

As a Christian, let Christ be seen in you because that is your destiny. This is my driving force as a Christian. This is why our vision statement says, “As we preach the full message of this new life, our goal is to raise a people who are like Jesus …”

A time should come in your life that someone should look at you and say, “I see Jesus in you.” or “You remind me of Jesus.” That is your destiny.

Paul the Apostle prayed for the Galatian Church in Galatians 4:19 saying, “My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you”

The Bible instructs us in Romans 13:14 saying, “But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.”

Colossians 3:10-11 says, “And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.”

INSTRUCTION
In your own words today, consecrate yourself to your destiny in God. Submit yourself to completely depend on Christ and the Power of His Spirit and His Word to produce the character of Christ in you.

For further study read:
Colossians 2:6-10, 1Corinthians 1:30-31,
Galatians 3:27-28.

DOING THE WORD
Pray Galatians 4:19 for yourself, your loved ones and every member of your ministry.

Monday, 19 August 2013

Let God guide you

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Romans 12:2(KJV)

If your mind is not renewed, you will not be able to tell God's perfect will for your life. That's why you have to make out time to study the Word of God. The Bible did not say that Pastors alone should read the Bible. The Bible says in James 1:25, “But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.”

Renew your mind. Renewing your mind will help you to be sensitive to God's voice and His leading for your life. It will save you from making many mistakes. For example Kenneth Hagin spent twelve years as a Pastor, but God never called him to Pastor. That means there are Pastors in the ministry today that God never called to pastor. But because they did not ask him for details, neither were they sensitive to know God's will for their lives, they kept going their own way.

The fact that you sense the call of God on your life does not mean that you should just jump up and start a church, and call the church whatever name you like without hearing from God. The Bible says in Philippians 3:18-19, “(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)”

When God calls you to do something, it will require self denial. So what are your motives for doing what you do? For instance, the world renowned Evangelist, Reinhard Bonnke has no church, he is a member of the Assemblies of God, Orlando, in Florida. Yet one of his crusades cost millions of dollars. How is he able to save such money? He has known God as his source.

Find out from God what He is telling you to do? Then do it with the right motives and all the supplies you require will be there for you.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I ask that as I renew my mind with your Word, let my heart be sensitive to your voice and the leading of Your Spirit to be able to walk in God's perfect will for my life in Jesus Name. Amen.

John 16:13, Acts 11:5-18, Acts 16:6-10.

DOING THE WORD

You were made for a purpose.

“But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness … “
Acts 26:16(KJV)

It has been said that the saddest  thing that could ever happen to anybody is to discover what you could have been.

The guy that goes to hell remembers that he could have been born again, the man goes to heaven remembers that he could have lived a better life. Do not be one of those who live as though God's purpose is not important to them, forgetting that purpose will bring you those things which others seek for.

God did not make you to pursue things. He made things to pursue you. Just pursue God's purpose, pursue God's will, and all other things will pursue you. (Matthew 6:33)

Some people do not see any reason why they should pray, they just wake up in the morning, mutter a short prayer, and then go about their day. Some don't even pray at all. But if they had an exam, some of them will even read all night. Yet, their destiny, the real exam of life that they have, they do not spend time to pray about it.

If you believe fulfilling your destiny is important to you, You will go after it with all your heart. This is because at the end of your life in this world, if you lived outside God's plan, it is as though you never lived. You will go to heaven if you have believed in Jesus, but you will have no reward. (1 Corinthians 3:13-15)

Pa Elton was the name of the man that raised many of the big men of God in our country at a particular time. When he first came to Nigeria, he started building orphanages and hospitals. Then as he was getting older in years,  God made him know that, He sent him to Nigeria to raise men. So he handed over all his orphanages and hospitals to different people and he started raising men.

When he aligned to God's plan, he was able to fulfill God's plan for his life and he raised men for the Lord. By so doing he influenced the future of Nigerian Christianity.

PRAYER
Dear Father I ask that you help me to live my life with great precision in your purpose for my life so that there will be no cause for regrets in my life. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Fulfill your purpose

“No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.”
Ephesians 2:10(MSG)

In stressing the importance of purpose, I will like to tell you about a very popular minister. This minister who was about sixty years of age said, he found out that he was a failure, because he was not living according to God's purpose for his life.

Not living in God's purpose for your life will cost you everything. There is more to your life than just living everyday; eating, drinking and wearing cloths. Life is more than these things. Henry Ford said, if a man will find out God's destiny for his life, and follow it with all his heart, that man will be successful.

If you've truly found out God's plan for your life, put all your focus into it, and as you do, God will begin to give you divine influence. Mother Theresa was just feeding lepers, showing them love, and people like Bill Clinton who was President of America greatly respected her.

Mother Theresa was a woman of small stature, her purpose was to give love by feeding lepers and the poor on the street, yet she had influence with Presidents.

Have you taken out time to find out from God what is His purpose for your life? If it means fasting, fast till you get it. So that you don't get to seventy-eight and God tells you, “I called you to preach, or I called you to start a business.” Meanwhile, you have been a Civil Servant all your life.

The earlier you discover God's purpose for your life, the better for you, but if you've not found it, its never too late to find it.

PRAYER
Dear Father I thank you for a release of the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God's plan and purpose for my life. I ask that I be empowered to fulfill my purpose on earth without reproach. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Separated for a purpose 2.

“We know that God is always at work for the good of everyone who loves him. They are the ones God has chosen for his purpose”
Romans 8:28(CEV)

When you align yourself with God's original plan for your life, all the things you need for that destiny will begin to answer to you. You will begin to walk in prepared places.

For instance, lets take a look at the life of Jonah who God sent to go to Nineveh which was five hundred miles from Jerusalem. Instead of going to Nineveh, he chose to go to Tarshish where God had not sent him, and it was two thousand miles away from Jerusalem. In other words, he wanted to go two thousand five hundred miles from where he was supposed to go.

As Jonah embarked on his own way on another ship going where God had not sent him, he could not make progress. But immediately they threw him into the sea from the ship he was in, the Bible says that God had prepared a fish to swallow up Jonah.

In other words, until you choose to cease from your own way and yield to God's instruction to walk the prepared path, you will not be able to enjoy the things that God has prepared for you.

There is a prepared path for you. There are things that God has provided along the way for you to enjoy as you walk along these prepared path.

You can achieve or accomplish whatever you want to achieve or accomplish, but true fulfillment will only come from doing what God made you for. This is because true joy only comes from fulfilling God's plan and purpose for your life.

PRAYER
Dear Father today I dedicate my life to walking in your plan and purpose for my life, taking those paths which You have ordained for me to walk in. I repent from every stubbornness and I choose to cease from my own way. Thank you Father for grace to fulfill my purpose without reproach in Jesus Name. Amen.

Separated for a purpose 1.

“But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,”  Galatians 1:15(KJV)

Do you know that God's plan for your life was already there before you were born? His purpose and plan for your life is a call of grace. God already separated you for your purpose from your mother's womb.

Living for that purpose for which God separated you for before you were born is what will make you excited about your life everyday. So if you are not excited about your life everyday, something is wrong.

God expects each one of us to live our lives with a sense of destiny, knowing what He wants us to do with our lives.

It gets my attention when I hear of men in the secular world like Steve Jobs who talked about living with a sense of purpose. And I discovered that people in the secular world who have become very successful will tell you that they are doing what they were born to do. That is the secret of their success.

So the question I will like to ask you today is this, are you doing what you are born to do?

Some successful people out there in our world today have become successful because they are doing what they know they were born to do. Some of them are painters because they know that they were born to paint and they are making millions out of painting because they've aligned themselves with what they were born to do.

PRAYER
Dear Father I believe I receive insight into God's plan and purpose for my life. Thank you Father for as I align myself with your purpose for my life, may all the men, materials and resources that are necessary for my progress flow to me freely in Jesus Name. Amen.

Doing His will.

“I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.”
Psalm 40:8(KJV)

What does God want to do with your life? Find out God's purpose for your existence and it will stand you out from the rest of the world.

Have you ever thought of Mother Theresa, she served in India as a missionary. She was living in God's dream for her life, because she was living out her purpose. As a result, God preserved her life. This is because, in India, the Hindus usually stone Christians for preaching the gospel, yet Mother Theresa was there helping them to Christ and nobody could do anything to her. When she died the whole nation of India held a State ceremony for her burial. A Hindu nation buried a Christian enemy because she was in God's plan. That is the reward for a selfless commitment to the purpose and plan of God.

When you are living in God's plan for your life, you don't need to try to be popular. You don't need to try to promote yourself, all you need to do is to keep on promoting God's dream for your life. Consider the Lord Jesus, He did not have to try to publicize Himself, He just lived for God's purpose, and till today, Jesus is still the most popular man in history.

Time magazine called Jesus the greatest leader of all time, yet he never moved beyond Israel. He lived in just a small nation and yet He is still recognized as the greatest man that ever lived on earth till today.

If you will find God's purpose for your life and live in it, there is no telling how far God is going to take you. All you need to do is to ask the Lord to tell you what you were  born to do. He will tell you, and whatever He tells you to do, don't say, “I don't have the money.” He is your help so just start with what you have.

The Father's satisfaction over your life is what counts. Not popularity. Your whole duty is to live in His will and bring Him pleasure all your days.

PRAYER
Dear Father I consecrate my life to living in your will and purpose for my life in Jesus Name. Amen.

Live for your purpose.

“For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome”
Jeremiah 29:11(AMP)

God had plans for you before you were born. You were born for a purpose. You need to find out that purpose and fulfill it. Remember that God will reward you according to what He has called you to do. But if you do not fulfill your purpose, how will you get your reward?

For instance, lets say I employed brother A to be my secretary. But every time I look at his duty post, he is never there. If he continues that way, he will lose his job. Why? He did not do what he was employed to do. Same thing with life. God has made you for a special purpose, and when you live for that purpose, you prolong your days. Living for God's purpose adds value to your life.

When Paul's ship was attacked by a typhoon in Acts 27, his life was preserved because God's purpose for his life was not over. His purpose preserved his life. That's why I know I cannot be killed. Because I am living for the reason why I was born. And when you find the reason why you were born and live in it, no man in this world can stop you.

Joshua 1:5 says, “There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” In other words, as long as you live for this destiny, no man born of a woman will be able to kill you.

Consider Joseph, why was he not killed by his brothers who hated him? Or by Potipher, when he was falsely accused of rape by Potipher's wife? He had a purpose, and he  was living in that purpose. Therefore, all the wrong things that happened to him, only helped in moving him closer to the fulfillment of God's dream for his life. This tells you that there is no disadvantage for the man who is living in God's purpose for his life.

CONFESSION
Dear Father, I thank you for I would no longer be disadvantaged in my life because I live my life daily in your purpose for me. Therefore, all things work together for my good, because I love You, and I am the called according to Your purpose.

His Everlasting Love.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.”
Romans 5:8-9(KJV)

No religion in the world can access the true meaning of life other than Christianity. The Buddhist is trying to do good to earn points, so that in the next life he will not be a goat, because he does not understand the value of human life.

In many religions, they depend on their own works and their own suffering for salvation. Some even believe that they can only be saved by laying down their own lives, but it is not so in Christianity.

As Christians you don't need to die for your sins someone already died for your sins. Its only Christianity that lets you know that God wants you, inspite of all your secret flaws that only you know. He still wants you because He can change you.

It is important for you to also know that before you were born He knew you. He knew your parents, He knew the school you were going to attend and all the mistakes you were going to make, He knew everything. Yet He sent His Son to die for you before you were born. Jesus already died for your sins before you sinned, that's to show you how much he wanted you.

Get to know how much God loves you. in Jeremiah 31:3 the Bible says, “The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.”

God has redeemed you. A price have been paid for you. All you need to do is to respond to the cross and to the blood of Jesus by being born again.

To receive Christ into your heart, please pray the prayer of salvation on page 67.

Dear Father I thank you for your unconditional acceptance towards me. I thank you for loving me with an everlasting love and kindness towards me. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Knowing God's timing.

“See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.”
Ephesians 5:15-17(KJV)

From our opening scripture the Bible lets us know that choosing to live in line with God's will for your life is being wise.

Knowing God's timing and His strategy for His plan for your life is also as important as knowing God's will for your life.

It is when you are living in God's will for your life that you can really begin to redeem the time by making the most of every opportunity. It is wisdom for you to know and understand God's plan and purpose for your life and to walk in it.

This is why I am so glad that right from an early age, the Lord kept on sensitizing me on the importance of His will and purpose for my life. Since then I knew exactly where I was going so I did not bother to look for a job because I knew I had a calling. At one time the university I graduated from gave me two job offers trying to employ me but I turned down their offers because I knew where I was going. Therefore, money could not entice me.

Therefore, I encourage you today to find out God's plan and purpose for your life. If you already know what God wants you to do, go ahead and start preparing yourself for it, and if he instructs you to start, start. Even if you need to start small, you know you are heading up to the top because you are living your life for the reason why you were made.

PRAYER
Dear Father, teach me to number my days that I may apply my heart unto your wisdom. I ask that you grant me an understanding of the time that I may know what I ought to do  in this season of my life in Jesus Name. Amen.

Function in God's will.

“Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.”
 Hebrews 10:7(KJV)

The Lord made me know that everyone who was a leader in scripture and made a mark, was someone who was walking in God's will for his life.

And when you search through the scriptures for yourself, you will find it to be so. From Abraham, to Isaac, to Jacob, etc. These men lived in God's will for their lives.

Therefore, if you want to be remembered for all time you must live your life for God's will. Now it is important that you know that God's will doesn't necessarily mean that we all have been called to become a Pastor, a Teacher, or an Apostle.

God's will for your life may be for you to become a Doctor, a Business man or whatever God has called you to be. The most important thing is for you to be sure in your spirit that you are doing exactly what God wants you to do because you have only one chance at life, so you have to use it well and make it count for all time.

When you are in God's will for your life, what you do will be endorsed by the Holy Spirit and God's power and His glory will be manifested in and through your life.

Therefore, it's a necessity for each one of us to function in God's will for our lives.

PRAYER
Dear Father, fill me with the knowledge of your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding concerning every area of my life. In Jesus Name. Amen.

God formed you for Redemption.

“Thus saith the LORD that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, which will help thee; Fear not, ...” Isaiah 44:2(KJV)

God did not leave you in this world to suffer. He does not want you to go through life without help. The principle is that if God formed me, He will not forget me. This means that God is mindful of me.

Psalm 115:12 says, “The LORD hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.” If God is mindful of you, it means that God thinks about you. He thinks about you to do you good. You will not be forgotten of Him.

Isaiah 44:21-22 says, “Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for thou art my servant: I have formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me. I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.” This tells you that God formed you for redemption. It also means you are valuable to Him.

This is because you don't redeem something that is invaluable. Remember that God made you. he made you just like Himself. But when Adam sinned, all of creation

was lost to God. Even though He formed you and I for His dream, if we are not born again, we are outside God's dream and His purpose for our lives.

This is why He sent Jesus to redeem us, so that He can restore us back to His original plan. So, when you get born again, God blots out all your past sins, and gives you a fresh start.

God loves you. When we say that God loves you, it means that He is committed to loving you unconditionally inspite of all your mistakes and past sins.

PRAYER
Dear Father I thank you for my redemption. Thank you for loving me and sending Jesus to die for me.Thank you for blotting out all my transgressions and sins. Today, I walk in the newness of life and in your purpose for my life. In Jesus Name. Amen

Purpose preserves life.

“That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.”
Ephesians 2:7(KJV)

God wants to use you as a display of His kindness. To show how favorable and generous He is. He wants your life to be a demonstration of His generosity. That's the way God wants your life to be. He wants to use you to draw others to Himself, so that in the ages to come He might show in us the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness towards us through Christ Jesus.

A lot of people do not know that when we ask them to be born again, we are trying to bring them into the kindness of God. Even some people who are saved don't know that God brought them to salvation to display His kindness to them and through them.

Ephesians 2:8-10 says, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

That means that until a man is born again He cannot enter into God's will for His life. When you get born again, the Bible calls you the workmanship of God. That means, you are the product of God created in Christ Jesus to do good works.

You were created by God to do good works. That is what He planned your life for. Yet, some people do not know that until you are born again, the life you are living is a wasted  life. It is as though you never lived, because the essence of life is purpose. So to live your life outside of God's purpose for you is to live a wasted life.

Purpose preserves life. Moses was a carrier of God's vision, he was a custodian of God's dream, therefore, he could not be killed. Same thing with you, if you have found your purpose for existence, and you are living in God's dream for your life, you cannot be killed.

PRAYER
Thank you Father for giving me a life of purpose. I ask that as I live my life each day in your purpose, I am preserved from all evil and from wicked and unreasonable men. In Jesus Name. Amen.

The pleasure of His will.

“Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!)”
Ephesians 1:5(MSG)

God gets excited when we are saved. It gives Him pleasure, because that is His will for us. God's number one plan for you is for you to be saved. He calls you to Himself by grace.

Ephesians 1:7-9 says, “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:”

So, God's purpose gives Him pleasure. So when I give my heart to Christ, and I come into Christ, the Bible says, God has pleasure. No wonder the Bible says, there is great rejoicing in heaven when one sinner repents. (Luke 15:7).

Ephesians 2:1-2 says, “And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:”

The condition of the unbeliever that we see in the verses above, does not bring joy to God.

It does not bring pleasure to God to see these unbelievers walk according to the course of this world, with the devil influencing their lives. When He has already made provisions for their lives to be better.

A Man of God said something I will never forget, he said, “God has a destiny for you, and the devil also has a destiny for you.” This is why you have to be born again. If you are not born again, satan is influencing your destiny. The only way to change it, is to be saved. When you get saved, the spirit that now works in the unbeliever would not be able to work in you and  you will became a child of God's pleasure and favor.

CONFESSION
My life is for the praise and glory of God. I am a child of God's favor and pleasure. Therefore, I declare that His wisdom and prudence is abounding towards me, enabling me to do great things with my life. Amen.

Your destiny in God

“Then I asked, 'What am I to do, Lord?' The Lord told me, 'Get up and go into Damascus, and there you will be told everything you are destined to do.'”
Acts 22:10(ISV)

Many live their lives based on assumptions. They assume that God has called them to do what they are doing when God has not spoken to them.

Yesterday I told you the story of Kenneth Hagin who Pastored successfully for twelve years, only to discover afterwards that God had not called him to Pastor. So he left Pastoring and again assumed that God had now called him to become an evangelist. After three years, he discovered he was called to be a Prophet and Teacher.

Don't gamble with your life. This is because you cannot claim God's perfect provision for your life, unless you are in God's perfect will for your life doing what God has destined you to do.

I believe that one of the reasons the Apostle Paul had great success in what God called him to do was because he had a sense of purpose.

For instance, when Jesus appeared to him in Acts 9:6, he asked a definite question, “…Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?”

That was the first question he asked, he wanted to know the purpose of his call. And the Lord answered him saying, “… Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.” There was no gamble, neither was he working by assumption. He knew the right city to go into and remain till he received further instructions from the Lord.

PRAYER
Dear Father I thank you for granting me revelation knowledge of the way you have ordained for me to walk in. Thank you Father for your Spirit teaches me to do your will and leads me in the path of righteousness in Jesus Name. Amen.

For further study read:
Psalm 143:10, Proverbs 3:5-6, Isaiah 30:21.

DOING THE WORD
Ask the Lord to tell you precisely what He has called you to do. Follow the instructions that he gives you and do not assume or follow your own way.

Be Spirit led.

“Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.”
 Isaiah 48:17(KJV)

I remember the story of a dear minister of God who had been in the ministry for about twelve to fifteen years, the Lord appeared to him and said, “you've just entered into the first phase of your ministry.” Then the Lord spoke to him and said, “Many of my servants live and die and never enter into the first phase of my plan for their lives.” I want you to think about that statement.

Don't wait till you are sixty to discover that you've been going on your own direction and you have not started living out God's plan for your life.

In the year 1991, after thirty-one years of ministry, a minster of God said; God spoke to him that he had just entered into the first phase of his ministry.

Most times many of God's children allow their training to take a long time, while others do not bother to find out God's plan and purpose for their lives.

Consider this: Kenneth Hagin pastored successfully for twelve years, yet he was not fulfilled. So, he want to pray. While he was praying, God told him that he did  not call him to Pastor.

In other words, those twelve years of his life will go unrewarded.

This is why I always want to do everything I do by the Spirit's leading concerning my personal life or the ministry. I do this because I don't want to do anything that will slow us down as a ministry. For instance, we employ people by the Spirit's leading, because if you employ a Jonah in your ship, you will slow down your progress and you will have so many losses.

PRAYER
Dear Father teach me to number my days that I may apply my heart unto wisdom. I ask that you fill me with the knowledge of your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding so that I may walk worthy of you and  be fully pleasing  to you in every way, in Jesus Name. Amen.

We have been predestinated.

“Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will”
Ephesians 1:5(KJV)

The word 'predestined' in our opening scripture means 'to determine before hand.' In other words, God had determined before hand that we should be adopted as His children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will. So, it is God's will that you should be saved.

In 1 Timothy 2:4, the bible says that God, “... will have all men to be saved and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. ”

It is God's will that all men be saved and come unto the knowledge of the truth. So when someone gets born again, it is an opportunity for God’s dream to come through. His dream is for all men to be saved. So, if you are not born again, you are denying God His dream.

God has determined before hand to adopt us as children through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of His will. So God is excited when you get born again. He is excited because  He can now do something with your life.

I saw an interview of an old man who was having challenges with his heart.

He said; he is suffering today because of the way he lived his life as a young person.

That is the reason God tells us not to engage in sin. It is not because He wants to deny us pleasure, but He wants to save us from the consequences of sin. That's why he predestinated you to be saved, so you can become His child.

PRAYER
Father I thank you for determining beforehand that I should be adopted to be your child by Jesus Christ. Now that I am your child, help me to live a life that will always bring pleasure to you through your Spirit. In Jesus Name. Amen.

DOING THE WORD
Separate yourself from all that is capable of defiling you or distracting you from doing God's purpose for your life.

Called according to His purpose.

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
Romans 8:28 (KJV)

From our opening scripture, the word lets you know that all things work together for your good, if you have been called according to God's purpose.

In 2Timothy 1:9 the Bible says that God; “… hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, …”

The word 'holy', simply means, 'what is set apart from what is common'. So that means, God's plan for your life is not common, because it is according to His unique purpose for you.

God's plan for your life not only pre existed your birth, it pre existed the world because the latter part of 2 Timothy 1:9 says that God's plan for us, “. . . was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.” Wow! So, before God created anything, you were on his mind.

Also, it is evident that God's call (plan) for us is by His grace. (2 Timothy 1:9). So, when someone is not born again and someone is preaching to them, God is trying to reach them with his grace, in order to bring them into his plan and purpose for their lives.

You are a child of destiny. You are not a product of sexual gratification. You did not just happen because someone or some folks had a good time. For that's how some people feel, they wish that their parents never met. Some say, I wish my father never met my mother, I will not have been here today. No! you are here because God wanted you. You are not a mistake.

Meditate on Ephesians 1:3-4 and never forget what it says. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love.” You are God's dream come through. One that has been called by God's own purpose and grace.

PRAYER
Father I thank you because I know I am not mistake. I have been born into this world for a special  purpose, determined by you before the foundation of the world. Thank you Father, because your grace is available to me, to fulfill your purpose for my life. in Jesus Name. Amen.

"Before I shaped you in the womb, I knew all about you. Before you saw the light of day, I had holy plans for you: A prophet to the nations-- that's what I had in mind for you."
Jeremiah 1:5(MSG)

Vision is a revelation of God's plan and purpose for your life.

God has a plan for every life because Jeremiah 29:11(NIV) says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” That means, knowing God's plan, gives me hope. So, vision is a promise of hope.

For instance, when God called me, He said; “set forth a standard.” That word reveals my future. Then He said “Raise me a people”. So, I know I have a mandate to raise a people like Jesus. Now I know why I am alive, because God's plan and purpose for your life is the reason why you are alive today.

If you want to know the plan God has  for your life, go to God. he knows it. Your parents and your friends may not know it, but God knows it. For example, my father wanted me to become a Computer Scientist or a Doctor, but God wanted me to be a Pastor. So, go to God for He is the one that knows why you came into the world.

Jeremiah 1:5 says “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”

The word 'formed' means to form into shape, to constitute, to fashion. In other words, God is saying here that, before I formed you into shape I knew you. That means God had the picture of you before he formed you. It also means God had a knowledge of you before He made you and set you apart for His plan.

You are a gift to this world. So find out God's plan for your life and begin to live in it today.

Prayer: Father I thank you for your great plans for me before I was born. May each day bring me into a greater understanding of your plan and purpose for my life, that I may walk in the fullness of it. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Finding God's perfect will.

“Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.”
Acts 13:1-2(KJV)

Prior to the time that the Lord spoke this words concerning Paul and Barnabas in our opening scripture, Paul had already been in the ministry for close to thirteen years. Yet the Lord said, “Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.”

So, being engaged in Church doesn't mean that you are already in God's perfect will for your life. For instance, you can have a talent in music, but that doesn't mean that you should produce an album.

That was the same thing Saul experienced, he had been in the ministry teaching the Word of God, yet the Holy Ghost said, “Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.” Therefore, even though he had been in the ministry for thirteen years, he was not doing exactly what God wanted him to do.

Have you discovered exactly what God wants to do with your life? Have you discovered God's perfect will for your life? If you haven't, I will encourage you to follow through with this month's devotional prayerfully and expect God to speak to you even as you do.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I acknowledge that you created me and knew me before I was born. Today, I ask that you give unto me the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of your perfect will and purpose for my life  in Jesus Name. Amen.
