"God thinks highly of you, and at the very moment you started praying, I was sent to give you the answer."

Daniel 9:23(CEV)

The answer to every prayer you pray is dispatched to you the very moment you start praying. That should be the attitude you should have whenever you pray. So whenever you pray, since the answer has already been delivered to you, receive it by faith.

We receive from God by faith. What is faith? "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1. Therefore, your faith is what gives you the evidence that you have received the answer.

Jesus, when He was on earth, lived with this understanding. When he got to the tomb of Lazarus He said, "…Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always …" John 11:41-42.

God hears every Christian in the same way He heard Jesus when He prayed on earth. He will hear you always just like He heard Jesus always. This is why Jesus speaking in John 16:26-27(CEV) said, "You will ask the Father in my name, and I won't have to ask him for you. God the Father loves you because you love me, and you believe that I have come from him."

Pray with the consciousness that the Father loves you as He loves Jesus, therefore, He answers you as He answered Jesus.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you because I know that you have heard me because you hear me always. Therefore, I believe I have received the petitions I have desired of you, in Jesus Name. Amen.

"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord."

James 1:5-7

Whatever has not been done in your life is not because God is withholding it from you. It is because you have not made room for it to happen. This is because whatever God wants to do in your life has already been made available by Him.

The Bible says in Ephesians 1:3, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:" This means God has blessed you with the empowernment you need to be, do and have all that God has purposed for you to be, do and have.

Jesus said in Matthew 7:8, "For every one that asketh receiveth …" If Jesus never lied, then this means that whenever you ask, you receive.

In Mark 11:22-24 Jesus said, "... Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them."

I want you to understand that you received when you prayed. The moment you prayed the answer was delivered to you. What hinders the manifestation is not believing that you received when you prayed. As long as you doubt in your heart that you received when you prayed, there will be no manifestation.

Therefore, when you pray, believe that you receive, and you shall have. It is what you receive in your heart, you will have in your hand.

Instruction.

Today, ask and receive whatever you desire.

How strong is your desire?

"And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart."

Jeremiah 29:13

Whatever you do must come from your heart as you seek the Lord. Seeking the Lord requires undivided focus. Also, the measure of focus you give to the Word of God that you hear determines how much the Word will impact your life. This means that what you get from seeking the Lord in prayer, study or fasting is determined by you, not God.

What you receive from God is not the full revelation of the generosity of God because you received according to your faith and He reveals Himself to you to the measure of the depth of your desire in seeking after Him. How strong is your desire? How passionate are you in your heart to know Him? That is how much of Him that will be revealed to you.

The Apostle Paul sought after God with all his heart. That was why he had such abundance of revelations given to him. He determined it by his hunger in seeking after God. He said, "[For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope] That if possible I may attain to the [spiritual and moral] resurrection [that lifts me] out from among the dead [even while in the body]. Not that I have now attained [this ideal], or have already been made perfect, but I press on to lay hold of (grasp) and make my own, that for which Christ Jesus (the Messiah) has laid hold of me and made me His own. I do not consider, brethren, that I have captured and made it my own [yet]; but one thing I do [it is my one aspiration]: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal …" Philippians 3:10-14.

Prepare your heart

"And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the LORD."

2 Chronicles 12:14

Our opening scripture today shows us that morality is a reflection of your relationship with God. Rehoboam did evil because he prepared not his heart to seek the Lord. He did not acknowledge the laws of God in his thoughts because he did not seek after the laws of God to know what God wanted him to do them.

Psalm 119:9-11(AMP) says, "How shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed and keeping watch [on himself] according to Your word [conforming his life to it]. With my whole heart have I sought You, inquiring for and of You and yearning for You; Oh, let me not wander or step aside [either in ignorance or willfully] from Your commandments. Your word have I laid up in my heart, that I might not sin against You."

In my service in the house of God till this day, both when I was just a leader and when I became a Pastor, I set my heart to seek the Lord in sincerity. I saw myself as a father to the younger ladies even when I was just a Pastor on campus surrounded by many beautiful ladies. Never did I take advantage of anyone of them.

This is because I had the Word hid in my heart and I had prepared my heart to seek the Lord. I was therefore scandal free.

You can also be that way if only you will prepare your heart to seek the Lord by laying up His Word in your heart today.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you because your grace is at work in me both to will and to do of your good pleasure in Jesus Name. Amen.

Seek the knowledge of God.

"Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things."

Proverbs 28:5

The man or woman who seeks the LORD understands all things. When you seek the Lord, He will give you insight into hidden secrets. He will cause you to know and understand things that are beyond your learning. He will guide you and give you direction so you can make the right decisions in life.

This is why you must seek to increase in the knowledge of God. When you have the knowledge of God in you in increasing measure, it will give you insight into every other form of knowledge. There are times people come to me for counsel. Because of the knowledge of God in me, I just know exactly what they should do.

People who are always confused are not seeking to increase in the knowledge of God. The Psalmist said in Psalm 119:97-100, "O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day. Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts."

Psalm 111:10 says, "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever."

Dear Father, I thank you because your Word has made me wiser than my enemies. I am filled with good understanding and knowledge of witty inventions by the power of your Word over my spirit and my mind, in Jesus Name. Amen.

He wil make you to prosper.

"Sixteen years old was Uzziah when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and two years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Jecoliah of Jerusalem. And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah did. And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper."

2 Chronicles 26:3-5

Notice that the secret of Uzziah's prosperity was that he sought the Lord (he inquired, obeyed and served the Lord diligently keeping to the commandments and demands of service). As long as he did this, the Bible says that God made him to prosper.

As you follow the principles of true service to the Lord, you do not have to try to prosper. God will make you to prosper.

Dr. David Yonggi Cho sought after the Lord passionately and gave his house for the sake of the gospel the first time. God gave him a bigger house. He gave his house again and God gave him a bigger one again.

You cannot out-do God or out-give Him in your passion in serving Him. King David in his passionate love and service to the Lord decided to do for the Lord what no one had ever done for Him. He chose to build God a house. As a result of this heart of service, God said to him through the Prophet Nathan, "… Furthermore, GOD has this message for you: GOD himself will build you a house!" 2 Samuel 7:11

Therefore, as you serve the Lord with all your heart, know that He will make you to prosper.

Secure your posterity.

"And the LORD appeared unto him the same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham's sake." Genesis 26:24

I want you to notice from our opening scripture that God vowed to bless Isaac because of His father Abraham. That is one of the benefits of serving the Lord faithfully. When you serve the Lord faithfully, it will affect your posterity. Blessings will come upon them from the Lord because of what you are doing today in your service to Him.

Kenneth Copeland would have gone to hell because he was living in sin. He said the Lord appeared to him and said that because of his mother and her prayers he would be preserved. The Lord also told him that He was giving him another chance to be able to receive salvation. He responded and got born again. Notice that his mother's prayers in service to God as an intercessor, always praying for churches, ministers of the gospel, etc. answered for her son and led to his salvation.

There is another minister who came to me at a particular time whose father was a Sunday School teacher in his church. He had fallen into sin and was going through a lot of challenges. While he was talking to me, the power of the Lord came upon me and speaking by the Spirit, I said to him, "Thus saith the Lord, because of your father's service, the anointing that has diminished from your life is being restored." He started crying, talking about how much his father served the Lord. Notice again that his father's service answered for him and brought a restoration.

Your service to God is not a joke. Take it seriously because it will answer for your son or daughter tomorrow.

Prayer.

Dear Father, may my service and ministry to you in your house be acceptable to you always, in Jesus Name. Amen.

Serve with sincerity

"Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: …"

Joshua 24:14

Do you serve the Lord in sincerity and truth? Some persons will say they are serving the Lord, but they are not serving Him in sincerity and truth. Because they lack the fear of the Lord, they are not able to reap the full benefits for serving the Lord.

If you do not serve the Lord in sincerity, it will bring judgment upon you. There are those steal from churches in the guise of serving the Lord. Some others rob God in their tithes and offerings. Others take advantage of vulnerable persons in the church to satisfy their own lusts and selfish desires. All these God will judge because they are not serving Him in sincerity and in truth.

Know that you are not smarter than God. So, do not take His grace for granted. He sees you when you are walking in insincerity in serving Him, but He gives you room to repent. When you refuse to repent, judgment will surely come upon you.

A man was stealing from a church consistently, serving God without sincerity and truth. He refused to repent. When judgment came, it came upon his household because he opened the door to satan. As a result his daughter died. Finally he was caught. You do not need to bring judgment upon yourself and your household before you repent to serve God in sincerity and truth.

Know that every one of our work in service to the Lord will be tested with fire. If it abides, then you will receive a reward. If it burns, you will suffer loss. The choice is yours, so serve the Lord with sincerity.

Instruction.

If you have to make restitution, do it quickly.

Don't compromise

"Then an herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages, That at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up:"

Daniel 3:4-5

Our opening scripture was the instruction that was given in Babylon by the king Nebuchadnezzar for everyone to worship the golden image he had made. Anyone who refused to bow down and worship the golden image would be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego who served Jehovah refused to bow down to worship the golden image because they refused to compromise their faith in the Living God even though they knew they were in danger of being cast in the burning fiery furnace.

When Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were brought before the king for not bowing to his image, they said, "…our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up." Daniel 3:17-18.

God eventually delivered them from the burning fiery furnace. It could not burn them when they were thrown into it because God Himself appeared with them in the fire. If you faithfully serve the Lord, be assured that He will never leave you nor forsake you. "So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me." Hebrews 13:6

Your enemies will fall

"I will send my fear before thee, and will destroy all the people to whom thou shalt come, and I will make all thine enemies turn their backs unto thee."

Exodus 23:27

Today's opening scripture reveals to us more benefits for serving the Lord. When you serve the Lord, He will send His fear before you. He will also make all your enemies turn their backs before you. This is why anyone that stands against a man that is serving the Lord faithfully has secured his own down fall.

In Daniel chapter 6, certain of the Presidents in Babylon conspired against Daniel who they greatly envied because he was a Jew and he served Jehovah who made him more excellent than them. In order to kill Daniel a faithful servant of Jehovah, they passed a law demanding that no person in the kingdom should pray to any God except the king for the next thirty days or such a person would be thrown into the lion's den. They knew that Daniel's faithful service to his God would cause him to break the law so he could be killed.

Just as they expected, Daniel went to pray and he opened his window as at other times facing Jerusalem. Not regarding their law, he prayed to His God. They saw him, reported him and persuaded the king to arrest him and throw him into the lion's den. Before Daniel was thrown into the den, the king said to him, "…Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee." Daniel 6:16. Sure enough, Daniel was delivered from the lions and all those men who accused him was cast into the lion's den with their children and their wives. This shows us that any one that stands against you has decided his own downfall.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you because according to your Word, they shall surely gather, but not by you, therefore in the Name of Jesus, I declare that whosoever shall gather together against me shall fall for my sake. Amen.

Benefits of service

"There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil." Exodus 23:26

As you serve the Lord faithfully expect these benefits of service to be evident in your life.

The Bible says nothing shall cast their young. This means that nothing shall lose her young by miscarriage; both man and animals belonging to those serving the Lord. A dear minister of God in our country spoke about a time when his wife just got pregnant with their first child. He said he came home one day and his wife told him that she saw blood. She was thinking she had a miscarriage because of how heavy the flow of blood was. He said he told her that what she had in her womb was a child not blood, therefore, the child was still in her womb. He demanded for his food, he ate and that settled it. He was confident his wife could not have a miscarriage because he was serving God and the scriptures could not be broken. According to the time of life, his wife gave birth to a bouncing baby boy.

Abraham was serving the Lord and his wife Sarah was barren according to the scriptures (Genesis 11:30). His faithful service to the Lord and faith broke barrenness and Sarah gave birth to Isaac (Genesis 21:2-3).

Premature death is not the heritage of those who serve the Lord. Nobody can kill you. The Bible says in Psalm 91:16, "With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation." This is your heritage for serving the Lord. Do not settle for anything less.

Instruction.

As a servant of Christ, lay claims on long life and a life without miscarriage and barreness.

Service unlocks health

"And ye shall serve the LORD your God, … and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee." Exodus 23:25

Serving God affects your health. Someone may read that and say, "I know some people who are serving God who are always falling sick." Do not let someone else's experience become your reality. Choose to take the Word of God as it is and expect to see the manifestation in your life. Remember that every man is living according to his faith.

The Bible says that if I serve the Lord my God, He will take sickness away from me. I believe it and that is my experience. What about you?

Moses served God to the point that when he was one hundred and twenty years, the Bible had this to say concerning him, "Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died; he was as strong as ever, and his eyesight was still good." Deuteronomy 34:7(GNB). The 1899 Douay Rheims Bible puts it this way, "Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, neither were his teeth moved."

Isaiah 40:30-31 says, "Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." This is the heritage of all who are serving the Lord in truth.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you for as I serve you, your grace is sufficient for me to sustain me in divine health, keeping me as strong as ever, even as my youth is renewed as the eagles. I will run and not be weary, I will walk and not faint in Jesus Name. Amen.

Service unlocks prosperity

"If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures."

Job 36:11

The Bible is letting you know today from this opening scripture that those who obey and serve the Lord will live a life of prosperity. God blesses those who serve Him with prosperity.

There is a dear minister of God in our nation who is well known. In his early days in ministry, he gives God eighteen hours every day. Today, he is said to be the richest minister on earth. The Bible says, "If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures."

Therefore, if you want to experience increase, serve God. Also, if you are already serving God with your life, then you should expect increase. Do not expect anything less.

Peter said to Jesus, "… Lo, we have left all, and followed thee." Jesus answered and said to him, "… Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake, Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting." Service unlocks increase

"For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister." Hebrews 6:10

Our opening scripture shows us that God does not forget your work and labour of love you have showed towards His name. This means that God is mindful of the things you do for His name. Therefore, no work goes unrewarded in the house of God.

Hebrews 11:6 says, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." This means that there is a reward for seeking God. Also, God expects you to expect a reward for your service because you ought to come to Him believing that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

Exodus 23:25 says, "And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee." This is a proof of the fact that there is a blessing in serving God. I want you to know that when God blesses something, it increases. Notice that when Jesus blessed the five loaves and two fish in Matthew 14:19, it increased and about five thousand men besides women and children were fed.

Therefore, if God says He will bless your bread and your water, He is saying that when you serve Him, you will experience increase. So one of the rewards for serving God is increase.

Prayer.

Dear Father, according to your word to me today, I know that you are mindful of all my services to you in your Name. I believe I receive by faith all the rewards for my service because you are a rewarded of all who diligently seek you in Jesus Name. Amen.

Seek Him for answers.

"I would seek unto God, and unto God would I commit my cause:"

Job 5:8

Our opening scripture shows us that we seek God in order to commit our cause or issues to Him. Psalm 37:5 says, "Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass."

This is why it is important that you do not embark on any project without prayer. This is because prayer is inviting God to get involved with your life. So whenever you seek the Lord, expect an answer from Him on how you should go about your plans.

Seek Him for direction. Whenever there are areas of your life you are not certain concerning what step you need to take, you should seek the Lord in prayer for direction in such circumstances and He will answer you. Psalm 65:2(CEV) says, "Everyone will come to you because you answer prayer." Isaiah 65:24 says, "And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear."

Jeremiah 33:2-3 says, "Thus saith the LORD the maker thereof, the LORD that formed it, to establish it; the LORD is his name; Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not."

Do not live your life on human wisdom, understanding and strength. Instead of walking in darkness, uncertainty, fear and confusion, just call on the Lord and He will answer you, and show you great and mighty things which you do not know.

Instruction.

Cast your cares to the Lord today and stop the worry. Also, commit your plans to Him, He is able to bring it to pass.

Seek God in prayer.

"The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: …"

Psalm 10:4

Every day without prayer is a boast against God. What that means is that, living without prayer is like living your life like the wicked as seen in our opening scripture. Secondly, we also learn from our opening scripture that anyone who does not have a plan in his life for time spent with God in prayer is proud. The Contemporary English Version puts Psalm 10:4 this way, "The wicked are too proud to turn to you …"

2 Chronicles 7:14 says, "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, …" This shows us that only humble people pray. Do not be too busy to the point that you cannot schedule time in prayer to God daily. Martin Luther of Germany said he was so busy that he had to spend three hours in prayer before starting the day's job.

You should humble yourself by scheduling time with God in prayer every day. You could start by scheduling fifteen or thirty minutes or even an hour. You don't have to begin by praying three hours like Martin Luther, but that will be great if you choose to start from there.

One of the most important things in developing intimacy with God in prayer is to maintain a consistency.

Therefore if you want to begin to build a prayer life, you could start with fifteen minutes every day. As you maintain your consistency, your fervency and passion will begin to increase and you will begin to grow in your time in prayer.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you for a release of grace for consistency in my regimen for fellowship and communion with you daily in Jesus Name. Amen.

Seek Him early.

"When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek."

Psalm 27:8

Our opening scripture shows us that God expects us to seek Him. To seek connotes to desire, to crave, to investigate, to study, etc.

In Matthew 7:7, Jesus said, "…seek, and ye shall find; …" The Psalmist in Psalm 63:1 says, "O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;" This verse reveals to us how highly we ought to make God our priority above all else by seeking Him early. Secondly, it shows us that we seek God for a refreshing.

Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." This demonstrates that we seek what we prioritize.

Since God desires that we seek Him, I will begin to share with you today some ways in which we can seek after Him. Firstly, you can seek after God in prayer. Christians who experience dryness in their spiritual lives usually do not know that they can experience a refreshing by seeking God in prayer first thing every day.

This is why as a Christian who wants to remain refreshed in your walk with the Lord, you must have a daily scheduling of time with God in prayer. Not doing this means you are not prioritizing God in your schedule. Set your heart ...

"Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; …"

1 Chronicles 22:19a

Your devotion to the Lord begins with a decision. There are times when I have been asked, "Why is it difficult for you to lose your fire?" It is because I have made a decision to set my heart and my soul to seek the Lord my God.

The football fanatic that likes Manchester United or Chelsea and loves to watch their matches became that way because of a decision he made to become a fan of that club. In the same way as a child of God, you need to make that decision to set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord passionately.

One of the secrets of developing a heart after God is cultivating a hunger for fellowship with Him in His Word and prayer. As you live your life in constant communication with God this way, your love for Him will begin to grow more and more.

This is because constant communication breeds trust and love is extended to the limits of trust. The more you know Him, the more you love Him.

Therefore I encourage you today to make that decision to consciously seek after God everyday with all your heart and all your soul. Until you make that decision, there are certain things that will not happen in your life.

Pay attention to the Word.

"And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath."

Mark 4:24-25

Qualitative attention is the key to maximum apprehension of spiritual truth. The Amplified Bible says, "… Be careful what you are hearing. The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you--and more [besides] will be given to you who hear."

It is not God that determines the effect of His Word in your life, it is you. The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you. You determine what you will get out of the Word by the measure of focus and attention you give to the Word.

For instance, if you want the Word of God to impact a certain area of your life, you must be willing to feed on that particular subject in the Word of God, studying and meditating on it over and over again until the power in the Word is manifested in that area of your life.

Consistency in the Word of God will not only impart knowledge to you, it will also cause a release of the power of the Word into your life.

Instruction.

Gather relevant scriptures and materials in the area where you want to see a greater manifestation of the Word in your life.

Hearing from God.

"If any man have ears to hear, let him hear."

Mark 4:23

Hearing from God is a choice as seen in our opening scripture. This is because God is always talking but your ability to pay attention to listen is the issue. A.W Tozer said, God tells the man who cares.

It is important you are able to hear from God because your effectiveness is not just determined by how long you work, it is determined by the instructions you obey. For instance, there was a man called Naaman in the Bible, he came to the prophet Elisha because he wanted to receive healing from leprosy.

The prophet Elisha gave him a specific instruction from the Lord to go and dip seven times in the Jordan river and he would be cleansed. As he obeyed that word from God and went and dipped seven times in the Jordan river, he got cleansed. Notice that his healing was determined by adherence to divine instruction. The instruction was seven times not nine times, eight times or ten times.

He got healed, not because he dipped so many times, but because he dipped just seven times according to divine instruction.

The instruction you obey is what determines the future you create. Decision always decides destiny.

The outcome of your life is a result of the choices you make. So prioritize divine instructions and act on them when you hear them.

Prayer.

Dear Father, teach me to number my days so that I may apply my heart to wisdom.

What do you want?

""And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you?"

Matthew 20:32

Today I want you to learn another important protocol in seeking the Lord. This protocol is focus. You must be specific concerning what you want from the Lord. For instance, some people set out to fast and pray without determining what they want that spiritual thirst after God to achieve in them.

Seek after God with a definite focus. If you do not decide on what you want, you will settle for what you get.

The question Jesus asked in our opening scripture was directed to a blind man. Jesus saw that the man was blind, yet He asked him, "What will ye that I shall do unto you?" This is because if you do not determine what you want, you settle for what you get.

Receiving from God requires total focus. Elijah spoke to Elisha saying, "… Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me. And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so." 2 Kings 2:9-10.

Therefore, I encourage you to decide your focus by determining what you want in your pursuit in spiritual things.

Instruction.

Ask the Lord for a definite encounter in your walk with Him this season.

Doing the Word:

Word based prayer

"And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him."

1 John 5:14-15

Our opening scripture is talking about praying the will of God. This is also a very important principle for us to learn to follow in seeking the Lord because Word guided prayers have guaranteed answers.

The Word of God should be the protocol to guide your petitions and all that you are believing for in order to get guaranteed answers.

The Bible shows us that Daniel followed this protocol when he prayed to the Lord concerning the deliverance of the Israelites from their captivity. Daniel's intercession was Word-motivated. In Daniel 9:2-3 the Bible says, "In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem. And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:"

It was from the study of the book of Jeremiah which the Lord gave him that Daniel understood that the years of the captivity of Israel was accomplished and so he began to make intercessions according to the will of God for Israel.

Therefore, get the Word of God first concerning what you desire to change, demand or expect before you begin praying.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I ask that you grant to me an understanding of the times that I may know what I ought to do in this season according to your will concerning all that has to do with me in Jesus Name. Amen.

Seek Him diligently.

"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."

Hebrews 11:6

Our opening scripture shows us that there is a reward for seeking the Lord. However, consistency is required in order to obtain that reward. It is important for you to also seek the Lord only after the due order stipulated in the Word of God. That is the only way He will reward your service.

David, the king of Israel, wanted to bring the ark of God to Jerusalem. But because he did not follow the due order as prescribed by God in His Word, for the Priest alone to carry the ark , God smote Uzza one of the men chosen to carry the ark and he died for touching the ark. (See 1 Chronicles 13:1-13). David sought to please the Lord by that service, but because he did not follow the due order, it brought judgment instead of a reward.

There is a due order and principle that God has stipulated in His Word for us to follow so that our services can be pleasing to Him. Therefore it is essential for us to take the time to carefully examine Seek Him diligently.
