Be Excellent.

“Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.” Daniel 6:3(KJV)

I will like to challenge you today to make up your mind to be exceptional. Rockerfeller said, “Excellence is doing common things uncommonly.” Do what you do in a way that no one has ever done it before.

You can never go beyond where you are right now until you desire it in your heart, because we rise to the level of our expectation of ourselves. The Bible says in Proverbs 23:7, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:” The word ‘think’ also means ‘to expect’. So what you expect of yourself is what you will become. The Bible says in Proverbs 23:18, “…thine expectation shall not be cut off.” Think excellent thoughts concerning what you do because that is what you will certainly produce.

Work at excellence and refuse mediocrity. Remember Christianity is not a hide out for mediocres, our Father God is an excellent God. This is obvious from the things He created. Everything He has created and everything He does is in order, because excellence is a product of order. Order is the accurate arrangement of things in its place.

You will not have order in your life until you have priorities. What are your priorities? Your priorities are the things you value and what's most important to you. What are the things that you can invest your life in today that tomorrow you would not regret that you invested your time in. Schedule your life around those priorities. When you build your life around such priorities you will have order, and when you have order, you will have excellence.

Planning will also help to amplify your excellence. Therefore I encourage you to have a plan for your life. Have a plan for your day and whatever you do. It has been said that to fail to plan is to plan to fail. Remember that the future belongs to those who prepare for it. Are you preparing for your future? I encourage you to prepare for a greater future ahead of you by investing in yourself and before long your will inspire the world. God bless you.

You must take responsibility for results because leaders take responsibility for results. When you have results of success and great accomplishments, you will be able to inspire others. Go for results, desire to be successful.
Your results in life is what determines your influence. A Pastor whose ministry is impacting the whole world is more influential than a Pastor who is just reaching a State. I challenge you today to go for results. Desire to be more, do more, and have more than you had yesterday for the sake of the gospel.

Child of God you were born for success. This is because when you were born again, your ability to fail stopped. Your capacity for failure was removed the day you got born again. That is why the Bible says in 1 John 5:4, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”

You were born for success. You were born to win. There is no defeat in your spirit. All you have in your spirit is victory and success.

You are the handiwork of God, and God does not manufacture junks, neither does He sponsor flops. If God made you, it means that you are good enough for success and you are God's best. This is because every product is a reflection of the manufacturer. So if God made you it means that you are a success going everywhere to happen.

CONFESSION
In the Name of Jesus I declare that I am a success because I am God's own handiwork, recreated in Christ Jesus, that I may do those good works which God planned beforehand for me. Am taking paths which He prepared ahead of time, that I should walk in them. I am living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for me to live.

Have integrity.

Character breeds respect. Nobody is going to respect you until they know you are a person that keeps your words because every man's character is measured by his integrity.

You can never rise above your level of integrity because integrity is the true foundation of success. Peter J. Daniels one of the richest men in Australia said, “I have told the world that we can never separate morality from success because no man can truly remain successful without morality.” This explains to us why most of the richest men in the world are principled.

For instance are you aware that Bill Gates never slept with his wife until he got married to her. Are you also aware that he was a virgin when he got married at thirty years of age.

Integrity always breeds respect. When you have integrity God will believe in you, others will believe in you, even life and nature will work for you.

It is so  important that you have integrity as a child of God.

Be purpose driven.

From our opening scripture, we see that Jesus knew exactly what His purpose was, and He could express it to us in one sentence. This means that Jesus was successful and influential in His ministry because He was focused.

Nothing makes men fail like broken focus. If you don't know where you are going, any road can take you there. Don't join the statistics of those who don't know where they are going. Some of them do not even have any dream, they have no vision, or any purpose statement for living. They don't want to be influential neither do they want to do anything significant to impact the world.

Don't live your life without a vision. If you don't know God's vision and His purpose for your life, this is what you must do. If you are not born again, then you have to get born again first. Then if you are born again, all you need to do is to ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you the purpose why you were born, and He will show it to you because that is why He came to dwell in you.

Find out why you were born, because you can never inspire others if you don't know where you are going. This is because people want to follow someone who is confident about where he is going. So the confidence and conviction of the leader becomes the inspiration of his followers. You can never inspire without confidence, and you cannot have confidence if you don't have a vision.

When you receive the Holy Spirit, He not only empowers you He will also expand your vision. For instance, before Kenneth Hagin got filled with the Holy Spirit, his vision was to preach only in America. But when he got filled with the Holy Spirit, his vision expanded. This is because the Holy Spirit is the One who expands our capacity to achieve.

When a man or woman is filled with the Holy Spirit you cannot limit their potential anymore. They have become a people of unlimited possibilities. The Bible says in Ephesians 3:20, “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,” This means that there is power in you right now energizing you for limitless success.

If you are filled with the Holy Spirit you cannot fail because your capacity for success is beyond what you can imagine. The Holy Spirit will always take you beyond your dreams. No matter how big your dreams may look to you, it is small to God. Believe in this limitless ability of God's Spirit that has been poured upon you for supernatural accomplishments.

PRAYER
Dear Father I thank you for augmenting my potential by the power of the Holy Spirit. I thank you for you are able to do exceeding abundantly above all that I could ask or think, according to your power that is at work in me, therefore I know that you are taking me beyond my dreams even as I produce supernatural results in Jesus Name. Amen.

Be Supernatural.

“For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.” Romans 8:19(KJV)

Child of God the whole of creation is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God. This lets us know that people are drawn to people who carry the supernatural. In John 6:2 the Bible says, “And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased.”

Do you know that miracles inspire followership? This is why a church that has the supernatural will always have followership. This is why as a Christian you ought to have the supernatural manifested through your life. God expects everyone of us to manifest His supernatural power. That is why He has sent us the Holy Spirit to dwell in us and make us supernatural.

Jesus said in Acts 1:8, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Jesus made sure those he sent out were all filled with the Holy Spirit. When they received the Holy Spirit, they lost all their fears and they began to work miracles. That is what Jesus wants to see in every one of our lives.

Jesus gave us a vivid description of the supernatural life of a Christian in Mark 16:17-18 saying, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” That's the picture of your life if you are a Christian.

PRAYER
Dear Father I thank you for empowering me by the Holy Spirit and power to do good and to heal all those who are oppressed of the devil by your ability that is in me in Jesus Name. Amen.

Be Nice

“Finally, all of you should agree and have concern and love for each other. You should also be kind and humble.”

Our opening scripture encourages us to have concern and love for each other. Are you kind to others? You ought to be kind to others as a child of God. God expects you to be caring and compassionate because that is the nature of God. Remember the Bible says in 1 John 4:8, “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”

It has been said that, “people don't care how much you know until they know how much you care.” Our Lord Jesus Himself used the principle of love and caring in ministering the gospel to others. The Bible spoke of how Jesus fed the five thousand who attended his service in the wilderness. (See John 6:5-13)

When you read John 6:26, you will notice that the people began to seek Jesus afterward because He fed them. This means you can use concern to influence people. When people know you are concerned about them they will come to you. This is because people are always drawn to those who care about them.

Therefore always practice 1 John 4:7 which says, “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.”

PRAYER
Dear Father I thank you because the love of God is shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit who dwells in me. I thank you for I am abounding in love towards others and towards all men in Jesus Name. Amen.

If you are going to inspire anyone, you must be ahead of them with information because knowledge inspires. So I encourage you today to go for knowledge and study the right materials so that you can fill your life with the right information.

Do you want others to follow you? Then you must have superior knowledge. This is why you must study because nobody wants to follow a fool. So if you are going to have influence you must have knowledge.
 
As a child of God you must have the knowledge of the Word of God in you. In John 8:31-32 Jesus said, “…If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” So it is the truth of the Word of God you know that determines the liberty you enjoy in Christ.

Pattern your life after the knowledge of the Word of God, as you do, God will give you influence with men and if He gives you influence with men, they will follow you willingly. Why? It is because God's Word is superior knowledge and if you have it in you, it will make you a marvel to your world. (See Psalm 119:97-100)

Built to overcome.

“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” 
1 Corinthians 10:13(KJV)

Our opening scripture lets us know that whatever you may be going through right now is common to man. So change that mind set that makes you think it will be difficult for you to be able to overcome that temptation or trouble.

Every temptation or trouble is common because other people have overcome it, so you can overcome it. That's the way I think. That is why as an individual there are certain things that I have made up my mind that I will never do. Why? For the glory of God. Secondly, for the faith of others, so I would not do anything that will ruin the faith of others. Thirdly, there are unbelievers who don't do it.

Do you know that there are unbelievers that have ethics like Cornelius the Bible tells us about in Acts 10:1-6, who hold on to some high moral principles?

It doesn't make them Christians or qualify them to go to heaven. But it shows you that no Christian has any excuse to live in sin, because it is not in our nature to live in sin.(See 1 John 3:9)

Do you know who you are? Do you know who a Christian is? You are a new creature. You have the life and nature of God in you. You are not of this world because you have been chosen out of the world. Greater is He that is in you than He that is in the world. You are born of God, therefore you overcome this world. Praise God.

CONFESSION
In the Name of Jesus, I declare that greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. I am born of God, therefore by my faith, I declare that I have overcome this world, I have overcome the flesh, and all lusts.

Leadership is responsibility.

“Be careful about the way you live and about what you teach. Keep on doing this, and you will save not only yourself, but the people who hear you.”
1 Timothy 4:16(CEV)

If you cannot lead yourself well, you cannot be a good leader of others, because leadership begins with you.

The Lord Jesus also used this principle when He said in John 17:19, “And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.” The Bible in Basic English puts it this way, “And for them I make myself holy, so that they may be made truly holy.”

This means that if you are a leader, you cannot lead people beyond your own experience. You can't take them where you have never been yourself. A minister of the gospel asked a question one time, he asked, “how can a bound preacher produce a loose church?” In other words, if the preacher is bound, the church cannot experience true liberty.

Leadership is influence, and everyone has a certain level of influence over others. There is someone whose life you are influencing, it could be a member of your family, it could be your friend, it could be your wife or your children, it could be your employees, it could be your cell members or your church members if you are a Pastor. Those who you are influencing can only become like you. It is a spiritual principle which you must be conscious of. You pass onto them your strengths and your weaknesses. It matters who your leader is.

Therefore if you are a leader reading this, know that you are a custodian  of the future. So if you have any weakness in your life don't hide it, deal with it so that it does not repeat itself in the next generation.

INSTRUCTION
Today I encourage you to pray for your Pastors and those who are in leadership over you;  pray for the supply of God's spirit towards them, also pray that they would carry out their responsibility of leadership to the end without reproach.

Who is tempting you?

“Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:” 
James 1:13(KJV)

Our opening scripture shows vividly that God is not the author of temptation. In other words, God is not the one tempting you. God does not want you to fall, so He would not tempt you with evil. So whenever you are tempted know that it is not coming from God.

Where does temptation come from? The Bible gives you the answer in James 1:14-15, “But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” Temptation comes from your own lust. As long as you do not deal with that lust, you will continue to be tempted. When you yield to that temptation, you will sin and when sin is finished, it brings forth death. So if you don't want to be tempted, eliminate lust, and if you eliminate lust, you will not sin.

Child of God you know the particular lust you need to deal with. Don't feed that lust, but instead feed your faith by getting scriptures that will help you to deal with that particular lust and begin to meditate on them day and night, don't stop until it affects your thinking. By so doing you will starve that lust to death.

CONFESSION
I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ lives in me, and the life I now live in the body, I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.

Stand your ground.

“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”

It has been said that pressure is what forces deception to reveal itself. This is because pressure will always test the quality of your character. Can you stand pressure? I mean pressure that comes against your faith and convictions in the Word of God.

David said in Psalm 27:3, “Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.” What happens to you when the negative pressures of life mounts up against you? Do you become afraid and begin to compromise your faith or do you remain confident in God?

Remember Joseph, the Bible reveals to us in Genesis 39:10 that his master's wife mounted pressure on him everyday to sleep with her, yet he stood his ground. Why was Joseph able to persevere for that long inspite of the sexual harassment  he faced daily? It was because of the quality of his character. His character was free from all deception and he had great reverence for God.

Child of God let such examples motivate you to know that you can successfully overcome the negative pressures of this life. That is why I encourage you to continue to build your faith strong in the Word of God. The Word of God will renew your mind and strengthen your convictions to stand even in the evil day.

Do you Lie

“Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.”

God told me something, He said, “Only weak people lie.” Lying is proof you have weak character. That means that when success comes to you, it will destroy you.

God said to me, “If you build your life and ministry on truth, you will sustain your success.” Then He went on to say, “But if you build your ministry on a lie, it will destroy you and your ministry.” Yet a lot of people do not know that when they lie, they are setting themselves up for destruction.

Do not make lying a part of your character because lies are costly. For instance when you read the Bible in Acts 5:1-10, you will discover that lying cost Ananias and Sapphira their lives. It is that costly. Therefore Proverbs 4:24(CEV) says, “Never tell lies or be deceitful in what you say.” God's Word translation puts it this way, “Remove dishonesty from your mouth. Put deceptive speech far away from your lips.”

Colossians 3:9-10 says, “Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:”

INSTRUCTION
I encourage you to turn away from all deceit, and choose to walk only in the light and truth.

Purge yourself.

“But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.” 
2 Timothy 2:20-21(KJV)

A prepared messenger is better than a prepared message. In other words God will put more time to preparing you before He uses you. I heard the story of a man of God who was praying and asking God to use him, then God answered him and said, you are not usable. Why? The answer is in our opening scripture. If you want God to work through your life mightily, you must purge yourself from dishonour.

The English Standard Version puts 2 Timothy 2:21 this way, “Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.” Why does God not want to use you in dishonour? It is because when you are living in dishonour as a child of God, you lose your power of influence. How can you loose someone else from something you are bound to yourself?

Therefore if you want to be an effective Christian or leader, you must cleanse yourself from dishonour. That is when you can truly influence others positively and effectively with the liberating power of the gospel.

PRAYER
Dear Father I turn away from all that defiles the mind and spirit. I come boldly before the throne of grace to receive mercy and to find grace to help in time of need in Jesus Name. Amen.

The responsibility of soul winning.

“Therefore, because we realize how greatly the Lord is to be feared, we are endeavouring to win men over, and God recognizes what our motives are, and I hope that you, in your hearts, recognize them too.”
 2 Corinthians 5:11(WNT)

Being a Christian is a call to a divine responsibility because God now depends on you for the salvation of others. I remember when I just got restored to the Lord as a teenager, I witnessed to my friends and I also prayed for the salvation of many others. Finally, a lot of young people living in the estate where I lived began to give their heart to Christ. It will surprise you to know that when I met some of these youths after they got born again and asked them why they got saved, many of them told me to my face that it was because of me. To me that’s a great testimony.

Child of God from the day you got saved, you became a leader with the responsibility for the salvation of others. 2 Corinthians 5:17-18 says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;”

I encourage you to be a soul winner by reaching someone around you with the gospel of Jesus Christ love, and His unconditional acceptance towards everyone that believes.

INSTRUCTION
Pray for the salvation of souls, that the hearts of the unsaved will be receptive to the gospel of Jesus Christ through every available means it is preached today.

You are a leader

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a peck measure, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16(AMP)

Everyone in the body of Christ is called to lead. This is because you are the light of the world. Light guides, light exposes, and light shows the way. Therefore as a member of the body of Christ, from the day you got born again, the responsibility of leadership was placed on you. This is why from the moment you announce to others that you are a Christian, they begin to use a higher standard to measure what you do.

Have you noticed that since you got born again, if you reacted in certain ways, someone who knows you are now born again would ask you a question like this, “I thought you said you are now born again?” In other words they unconsciously now begin to expect more from you than before because you are a Christian. This is because as a Christian you have now become a leader, you are different and the world does not expect you to live like them.

1 Peter 2:9 (AMP) says, “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God's] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”

PRAYER
Dear Father I thank you for the responsibility to lead. I ask that my life will be for the praise and glory of God even as Christ is formed and manifested in and through me today and always in Jesus Name. Amen.

Check your motive

“But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.” 
1 Thessalonians 2:4(KJV)

According to our opening scripture, I want you to be aware that for everything you do in the kingdom of God, God trieth your heart. In other words, God tests your motive for doing what you do in the house of God.

Why do you do what you do in the house of God? Do you do what you do for eye service, so that the Pastor will see you and praise you? The praise of men should not be your motivation for what you do in the house of God. Let your motivation be that you are working for the Lord. It doesn't matter who sees you or who thanks you for your service in God's house. You will definitely not lose your reward. God sees in secret and He will reward you openly according to Matthew 6:6.

A hidden sin in your life as a child of God is like a ticking time bomb. I want to encourage you today to deal with any compromise in your life. If you continue in any compromise or hidden sin and you do not expose it and turn away from it, it could lead you to a downfall tomorrow.

Paul the Apostle says in 2 Corinthians 4:1-2(BBE), “For this reason, because we have been made servants of this new order, through the mercy given to us, we are strong: And we have given up the secret things of shame, not walking in false ways, and not making use of the word of God with deceit; but by the revelation of what is true, as before God, we have the approval of every man's sense of right and wrong.” I encourage you to make this important decision today even as you give up and renounce every secret thing of shame.

If you are reading this devotional today, I want you to know that you have a great future ahead of you, greater than what you have ever experienced, its greater than where you are now, and it is far greater than what you can ever imagine.

Therefore, do not let any secret sin or compromise lead to a shipwreck. I pray that you will receive grace today to make that firm decision to live a life void of offense before God and men.

Cultivate a good conscience.

In our opening scripture, Paul the Apostle admonishes Timothy his son in the gospel to hold faith and a good conscience. This is important because some Christians have their conscience filled with guilt. The reason is because they have allowed certain compromise in their lives, in other words, there are certain things they do that makes their conscience hunt them. It is important you understand that your conscience is your inward monitor.

For instance in John 8 when they brought the woman that was caught in the very act of adultery to Jesus demanding that He should give them a verdict on whether or not they should stone her, He said to them in John 8:7, “…He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” Then the Bible says in John 8:9, “And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.” This shows us that this people themselves who wanted to condemn this woman to death were not living right, because they were convicted by their own conscience.

Child of God I encourage you to continue holding on to your faith. Continue to produce supernatural results by your faith. But there is one virtue you must not leave out, a good conscience. If you don't cultivate a good conscience now, and you continue to allow compromise in your life, you will make a mess of your faith at the end. 1 Timothy 1:19(MSG) says, “keeping a firm grip on your faith and on yourself. After all, this is a fight we're in. There are some, you know, who by relaxing their grip and thinking anything goes have made a thorough mess of their faith.”

Today from our opening scripture we see that even in Paul's day, there were those who corrupted the Word of God for their own gains. The Analytical- Literal Translation(ALT) puts it this way, “For we are not as the rest, adulterating the word of God for financial gain, _but_ as out of integrity, _but_ as from God, we speak in the presence of God, in Christ.”

Child of God, are you a man or woman of sincerity and integrity? What is your motivation for what you do for God or for others? Is it all about what you are going to gain out of it? If you are that way, you are vulnerable to corrupt the Word of God for your personal gain.

In Ephesians 6:24 Paul wrote, “Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.” This means that it is not all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with sincerity. But if you want to attract unusual favour and more grace, I will show you a more excellent way, be a man or woman of sincerity and integrity of heart towards our Lord Jesus Christ. Why is this important? It is important because it is the condition of your heart that moves God to promote you. Promotion doesn't come from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. It comes from the Lord. Today I encourage you to cultivate a sincere heart.

Dear Father I ask that you expose every seed of falsehood that have entered into my belief system and purge me from them all in Jesus Name. Amen.

From our opening scripture today, the Bible shows us a very important requirement for leadership,  a leader must be blameless. If this requirement for leadership is good for ministry in God's house, then it will be good for business and every other platform of leadership.

I had the opportunity to watch an interview of two of the world's richest men, during the interview, the younger one of the two men was asked to say what he admired in the older man.  He answered and said, “… his integrity.” And he went on to say that if you have solid principles, it will take you through anything. This means that if you can follow the principles of leadership in the Bible, it will put you above even those in the secular world who are dishonest.

You do not need to wait till you are made a leader before you begin to practice these principles. Start practicing these principles now from where you are because as you do, they will take you to the top. Upholding integrity in your life will announce you for leadership. People will be willing to follow you because they know you can be trusted.

You can live your life above reproach, you can live a life that is scandal free. It is important you make that your mindset. This is because if you could not live a life that is scandal free and blameless, God will not demand it of you. Child of God I want you to know according to Philippians 4:13 that you can do all things through Christ which strengthens you. Therefore you can be blameless.

PRAYER
Dear Father I thank you because you are at work in me both to will and to do of your good pleasure. I thank you Father for you are able to keep me from falling, therefore, I receive grace by your Spirit to live a life that is free from reproach in Jesus Name. Amen.

Today, you will notice from our opening scripture that the first thing the Apostles looked out for in those who were to become leaders is honesty. For an individual to be honest, he or she must have integrity.

Integrity is the foundation for enduring leadership. Leaders who have been recognized and respected through the years are men of integrity. This is because without integrity your influence as a leader will wither.

So if you are going to be trusted with people you must have honesty and integrity of heart. This is because honesty not charisma is the first requirement for leaders. This is the Bible way for choosing leaders, honesty comes first.

Some persons may be wondering why they are not experiencing growth as they ought in what they do, either in ministry or even in business. The question I will like to ask you is this; are you working with men and women of honest report? If you are then there must be growth and increase because when the Apostles appointed these men of honesty over the Lord's work, the Bible records in Acts 6:7 that the number of disciples multiplied. This indeed shows us that honesty and integrity of heart is the foundation for enduring leadership.

PRAYER
Dear Father I ask that you continue to strengthen me by your Spirit to maintain a perfect heart and to finish my assignment on earth without reproach in Jesus Name. Amen.

The Bible says you are the light of the world. As the light of the world, I want you to know that there will be confrontations against you from the rulers of the darkness  of this world which the Bible talks about in Ephesians 6:12. These rulers of the darkness of the world are spirit beings that govern the world, but because we are the light of the world, we will always win over the rulers of the darkness of this world.
 
The Bible says in John 1:5, “And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” This means that darkness can never overpower or overcome light. Therefore I encourage you today to let your light so shine because darkness would only prevail around you to the measure your light shines.

For instance, when I was in the university I attended which was a Christian university, there was a time we heard that they had started a cult. When we heard, those in my fellowship and I began praying for them, as we prayed for them that God would touch their hearts and change their lives, they started getting saved, and they joined our campus fellowship. Why? It was because we let our light shine by taking responsibility for change within that university and we overcame because light always overcomes darkness.

We must not forget the primary responsibility and mission we have as the salt of the world, it is to save the world and to preserve them from destroying themselves. If we turn away from that responsibility and mission, we would lose our influence. The Message Bible puts Matthew 5:13 this way, “Let me tell you why you are here. You're here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You've lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage.”

This is because it is part of the plan of the new age order to use media to promote and change mind set. This is because the greatest channel you need to use to change human attitude is the media. So they promote their agenda and the wrong values in form of entertainment, and as people expose themselves to such media, the spirit of the age can begin to gain influence over their minds by neutralizing their sensitivity to these negative ideas.

Also, one of the plans of the new age order is to create an interfaith movement by promoting other religions to be at par with Christianity. They are against the truth and seek to stand against the faith that Christianity is the only way to heaven.

 Yet Jesus said in John 14:6, “…I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” This means that any other way can never lead to the Father or to heaven. Only Christianity and faith in Jesus Christ can give salvation.

Therefore if you are reading this today and you are not born again, I bring you good news; God loves you, and He has already sent Jesus Christ who died as payment for all your sins and wrong doings. I encourage you to surrender your heart to Jesus today even as you declare His Lordship over your life by praying the prayer below:

A marriage cannot exist between two men or two women.

Homosexuality is not just a mental or emotional dysfunction, it is a satanic practice and we must never be in support of such ideas and policies. Therefore I encourage you to continue to uphold the teachings of the Bible in such matters.

So guard the spirit of marriage within you. Don't cheat on your spouse. "I hate divorce," says the GOD of Israel. GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies says, "I hate the violent dismembering of the 'one flesh' of marriage." So watch yourselves. Don't let your guard down. Don't cheat.”

Also, one of the plan of the new age order is to make abortion legal and to make it easy. This is why today abortion is been legalized by some nations around the world. The major reason they seek to build abortion clinics and health clinics in schools is to promote premarital sex and to remove the fear of unwanted pregnancies which does not uphold and encourage Christian culture and chastity. We pray that such laws will not see the light of day in our nation.

Pray for marriages that are experiencing difficulties, that God will restore peace in such homes, also pray that understanding and love will be restored among such couples in Jesus Name.

And thus let the marriage bed be undefiled (kept undishonored); for God will judge and punish the unchaste [all guilty of sexual vice] and adulterous.” The Message Bible puts it this way, “Honor marriage, and guard the sacredness of sexual intimacy between wife and husband. God draws a firm line against casual and illicit sex.”

Child of God I encourage you not to yield your mind to the negative influence of the media concerning  being chaste, modest, decent and morally pure. This is because one of the strategy of the new age order is to use the advertising industry and the media to promote sexual promiscuity. This is why the Bible encourages you in Proverbs 4:23, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”

INSTRUCTION
Pray for the family and marriages today  Pray that the family structure and marriages are preserved and protected from all discord, divorce, incest and infidelity, also pray that the love of God would abound in our homes between husbands and wives and between parents and their children.

In other to reduce parental authority over children, they have also proposed abolishing corporal punishment, in other words we are looking at a situation where it will be against the law to flog your child with a cane as correction for wrong behaviour. Yet the Bible says in Proverbs 22:15, “Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.” Proverbs 23:13-14 says, “Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.”

When you observe nations where these excessive child rights are in force, you will also observe that the children and youths in such nations have become very rebellious and ungodly in the society. This is why you must not allow your children to make their own decisions especially when it contradicts the way of the kingdom of God, you ought to guide them in the way they should go now that they are still children. Don't leave them to themselves and the media. This is why the Bible says in Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

INSTRUCTION
Pray for your children and other children around you today- Pray that all your children will be taught of the Lord. Pray that God will grant them wisdom to discern between right and wrong, also pray that God will deliver them from wicked and unreasonable men and women.

This is why it is important for us to have schools that are run by born again Christians who would uphold Christian values and tradition in our schools so that Christian culture can continue to be perpetuated in the lives of the next generation.

Pray for the members of the Legislature that God will stir up their hearts to make only righteous laws, also pray that God will strengthen their hearts against all occultic ideas, bills and prayers from within and outside this country. Finally pray that the gospel of Jesus Christ would continue to spread rapidly within and outside the borders of this nation, and may the gospel continue to influence the hearts of every individual in this nation for salvation.

Don't borrow

Our opening scripture shows us that the rich would always have dominion over the poor and the borrower is slave to the lender. Don't borrow. This is because every time you borrow, you are saying you will be a slave to whoever you borrow from.

Do you know that borrowing can be traceable to impatience? This is because when you borrow you want to enjoy today what you should enjoy tomorrow. You want to have today, what you can have tomorrow. So borrowing is using tomorrow's potential today. Therefore when you borrow you end up spending your unearned income before it came. That is not wise.

Child of God do not borrow or buy things on credit, it is one of the laws of uncommon prosperity. Don't borrow to buy clothes or to buy a car so that you can look prosperous, it is not wise. The Bible says in Proverbs 13:11, “Wealth [not earned but] won in haste or unjustly or from the production of things for vain or detrimental use [such riches] will dwindle away, but he who gathers little by little will increase [his riches].”

For instance, some people buy things on credit and before they are able to pay, the thing that they bought is already old, so they are paying for something that has no value to them anymore because they were impatient.

Therefore Romans 13:8a says, “Owe no man any thing, …” The Amplified version says, “Keep out of debt and owe no man anything, …” This is financial wisdom, I encourage you to live by it.

The word train in our opening scripture means to narrow the child. This means that training is aimed at giving you a focus. To train up a child also means to discipline a child in the way that he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

I encourage you if you are a parent reading this today to take your children and your teenagers seriously. The reason is because you have to narrow them in the way they should think, the way they should talk, and the way they should act, because if you should get it right with them as children, you will not struggle with them as adults.

Personally, my parents didn't need to start advising me not to carry women because I had already being trained in the way I should go. So, the way the lives of your children will turn out to be as adults starts when they are still children. What quality of training are you giving to them now? What are you exposing them to? Are you exposing them to the wrong kind of movies and music? It is amazing to know today that some parents are not even concerned about what their children are exposed to on television and on the internet. If you don't narrow their focus today in the way they should go, you may start trying to repair them later, after they have departed from the right way.

I encourage you to train your children and narrow their focus both by teaching and by example. Whatever you do not want to see in your child, do not practice as a parent. Don’t tell them, don't watch this and then they see you watching it. Don't tell them, don't do this, but then they see you doing the same things you told them not to do. Don't even hide to do the wrong thing as a parent, because what you fail to deal with or overcome in your life, you will fight in your children. Think about it.

INSTRUCTION
Make intercession for children today that they will stand perfect and complete in all the will of God for their lives, and that the fear of God will be established in their hearts from an early age.

Your self perception

During the French revolution in the 1700, they killed the king and his wife, but they captured his young son alive. They didn't want to kill him because they felt he was innocent and if they killed him, he will go to heaven, so they decided to give him to a witch to teach him how to curse, then they will kill him so he could go to hell because they hated his father. While the witch tried to teach the young prince how to curse, he refused to curse and said to the witch, I am a prince, we don't talk that way.
 
What is your self perception? Do you know you are a prince and a king unto God? The Bible says in Revelation 5:10, “And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.” You were born to reign in this life as a child of God. The Bible also says in 1 Peter 2:9, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:”

I encourage you to stop seeing yourself and talking about yourself contrary to who the Word of God says you are. The Word of God says you are royalty, the Word of God says you are holy, the Word of God says you are special, the Word of God says your life is for praise, and the Word of God says you have been called out of darkness, so you are not in darkness as a child of God, you are light in the Lord. Therefore I encourage you to see yourself in this light and walk in it because this is your true identity, do not accept anything less.

CONFESSION
 In the Name of Jesus I declare that I am a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar person, to show forth the praises of Him who has called me out of darkness into His marvelous light.

How much do you know

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: …” Hosea 4:6(KJV)

The word destroyed in our opening scripture is from the Hebrew word 'damah,' it means to perish, to destroy, to fail, to be brought to nothing, to be made dumb, to be brought to silence, etc. Therefore with the understanding of the word destroy, it means that God is saying here that my people fail because of a lack of knowledge, they are brought to nothing because of a lack of knowledge.

I want you to know that you are not where you are today because of the village you came from. Neither are you where you are today because of the family you came from, but you are actually where you are today because of your knowledge. It  is your knowledge that has brought you to where you are and if you are going to move from where you are to a better and higher place, you would have to get a superior knowledge than what you have right now.

God is saying in our opening scripture that my people are failing because they are unaware. This means that your knowledge is what determines the quality of your life, it determines if you will succeed or fail. Always remember that your knowledge can be your lid in life or your knowledge can give you an edge or an advantage in life. Therefore I encourage you to get the right knowledge that can help you to make the quality of progress you desire.

Always give your best

“Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, …” 
John 12:3(KJV)

Our opening scripture stresses the value of the pond of ointment of spikenard Mary brought to anoint Jesus, the Bible says it was very costly. That is very important for us to take note of. This meant that she did not bring her left over to give to Jesus, instead she brought her very best.

Don't give God your left over. Your left overs are not for God. It is not a sacrifice when you bring something you don't need anymore or something you want to get rid of and then you bring it to the altar as a sacrifice to God, it is not acceptable.

Mary brought something very costly, “and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.” The Bible says in Matthew 26:8 that, “…when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?” They called giving to Jesus a waste, because they didn't understand that what Mary was doing that day was going to set her up to receive an eternal memorial from that singular act of obedience to give her best to Jesus.

Then Jesus said in Matthew 26:13, “Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.” That was what she got as a result of giving Jesus her best.

Dear Father I receive grace right now to always be a prompt to do it giver whenever you lay it upon my heart to give.

Partner with the gospel

“Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.”

Today, I want to encourage you to favour God's righteous cause by getting involved with partnering with the gospel. For instance, one of the ways you can partner with the gospel is by getting involved with the free distribution of A Word In Due Season. This is because not everybody can buy a devotional, but when you give so that it can go out for free you are fulfilling scripture because we have been called to preach the gospel to the poor. (See Luke 4:18) So through your partnership, you are making the gospel affordable to everyone.

Notice the Bible says in our opening scripture that God takes pleasure in the prosperity of the man that favours His righteous cause. This is why I am encouraging you to be actively involved in seeing that the gospel of Jesus Christ spreads rapidly. I encourage you to give your money, your time, your ideas, and your resources to facilitate the spread of the message of this new life in Christ that God has given us to propagate, through every available means. When you partner with the gospel in this way consistently, you are practicing one of the secrets for uncommon prosperity. God bless you.

Consider the poor

“Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.”

Do you know that when you give to someone in need or you give to the poor it keeps you in health? Your reaction to the needy can also determine God's reaction to your health. The Bible says in our opening scripture, “Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.” Why are some people never delivered in time of trouble? One of the reasons is because of their attitude to the poor.

When the Lord causes you to notice those who are in need within the church, are you moved to do anything to help them? Don't take it lightly and don't trivialize it when God moves upon your heart to do something to help a fellow brother or sister in Christ who is in need. It is one of the secrets of uncommon prosperity. When you live in that way, the Bible says, “The LORD will preserve you, and keep you alive; and you shall be blessed upon the earth: and you will not be delivered unto the will of your enemies.” Think about it.

You cannot die prematurely when you practice such a lifestyle. God will keep you alive because He needs you to sustain the poor and the orphans. At the same time you shall be blessed upon the earth, in other words you shall be empowered to prosper more and more, and God will not deliver you to the will of your enemies, in other words, witchcraft will not be able to work against you. This is the heritage of those who are doers of this truth, so I encourage you to go and do likewise.

Live consistently

When you learn to function consistently in the light of God's Word, you will prosper wherever you are and wherever you go. My life as a minster of the gospel is a testimony of this truth because I prospered when I was in Benin City, the city where our church started from. We were on radio once a week and the church was growing till we began to have two services.

When the Lord told me to come to Bayelsa State I obeyed and I came down to Bayelsa willingly leaving behind a four bedroom apartment where I stayed as a single Pastor at that time, I left all my belongings in the house which was later distributed to others. I left all these and the success and influence the church was beginning to have at that time in Benin City in obedience to come to Bayelsa where I was coming to start from the scratch in the latter part of 2005.

Now having obeyed the voice of the Lord and having remained consistent to the light of God's Word, I have also prospered in this city. I now have more than all I left behind in Benin City. We now have more members in our church, we are on several radio stations and television stations everyday. We are reaching the nations of the world on the internet through our website and blogspot that is been visited by people from China, Russia, America, as well as other nations of the world, we also have a daily devotional which you are holding in your hands right now. I live in a bigger house, I am married, I have lovely children and many other beautiful things that God has blessed me with in such a short time.

What produced all these? Knowledge. I knew the law of consistency would make me prosperous wherever I go. That can also be your testimony if only you will learn to function consistently in the light of God's Word.

PRAYER
Dear Father I thank you for you will always cause me to prosper wherever I go even as I receive grace to always follow your instructions and to do your will willingly always in Jesus Name. Amen.

Be consistent 3

“Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.”

The Bible shows us that if you are consistent and diligent you will indeed stand before kings and not before mean men; otherwise known as area boys in local parlance. If you are a business person reading this today, the question I will like to ask you is this, are you consistent in your business? Or you are unpredictable.

For instance I have been to places to buy something and you hear them saying that the person who was supposed to have sold that particular thing had just left. He lost that opportunity because he lacked consistency. Be consistent because you don't know when your biggest customer is going to come. Will you be there?

Many people lose what God had ordained to come to them to others because they did not learn the value of consistency and diligence. The Bible says in Proverbs 10:4, “He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.” Proverbs 12:24 says, “The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.” I encourage you to choose the path of consistency and diligence.

Be consistent 2

I heard a story of a man named Steve Scott, he was always failing on his job until he met a dear man of God who counseled him saying that if he would read the book of Proverbs everyday, reading a chapter everyday for five years, he will be a millionaire. So he choose to begin reading the book of Proverbs. As he read it consistently everyday for two years, he was worth four million dollars.

Notice that the Man of God said five years, but as the young man began doing it and reading a chapter in the book of Proverbs everyday, he was worth four million dollars in two years because of consistency. Today Steve Scott is one of the wealthiest Christians in the world, and the company that he used to work for before he lost his job has become one of their major contractors.

Success and prosperity is the reward for habitual discipline. Joshua 1:8 says, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” I encourage you to go and do likewise.

PRAYER
Dear Father I believe I receive grace today for diligence and consistency in the Word of God in Jesus Name. Amen.

Be consistent 1

The Bible in our opening scripture begins to show us some of the conditions for Biblical prosperity. One of the principles we see here is consistency. You have to have a consistency in the Word of God, this means that if you are unstable you cannot have permanent prosperity. This was why Jacob said to his first son Reuben in Genesis 49:4, “Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel…”

Many people are not consistent in the Word, neither are they consistent in the things of God. They are not consistent in study and in hearing the Word of God, they are not consistent in confessing and speaking in line with the Word of God, they are not consistent in services and meetings in the house of God, they are not consistent in their offerings, tithes and first fruits.  There are so many inconsistencies that can be found in their lives because they do not know that these inconsistencies will end up limiting them in their prosperity. This explains why they experience the kind of prosperity that vacillates. Today they are up, and tomorrow they are down.

Therefore if you want to experience permanent prosperity according to the Word of God, there must be consistency in your walk with God.

Don't envy the wicked

“Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency.”                  
 Psalm 73:13(KJV)

The Psalmist in our opening scripture laments because of his sincerity to God after he had compared himself with unbelievers who seemed to be doing well and prosperous. He felt God had not rewarded him right for living in sincerity and purity.

Do you know that there are Christians like that today who compare themselves with unbelievers and feel like God had not treated them fair enough? This was the ordeal of the Psalmist here. The Psalmist said in Psalm 73:2-3(GW), “But my feet had almost stumbled. They had almost slipped because I was envious of arrogant people when I saw the prosperity that wicked people enjoy.”

Child of God do not make the mistake of comparing yourself with unbelievers because you are not working the same principles with them. The Bible shows us their way in Psalm 73:8, “They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily.” You can't walk in the same way as a child of God. The Bible reveals to us the end of these wicked men who may seem to be prosperous and rich today without God.

The Bible says in Psalm 73:17-20(GNB), “until I went into your Temple. Then I understood what will happen to the wicked. You will put them in slippery places and make them fall to destruction! They are instantly destroyed; they go down to a horrible end. They are like a dream that goes away in the morning; when you rouse yourself, O Lord, they disappear.” This is the end of the wicked. Don't envy them because they are on their way to swift destruction, but you are on your way to uncommon prosperity therefore maintain your sincerity to God.

PRAYER
Dear Father I thank you for revealing to me the end of the wicked. I ask that you strengthen me with might by your Spirit in my inward man to remain steadfast to you and the principles of prosperity always in Jesus Name. Amen.

Reverence God 2

“O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.” 
Psalm 34:9(KJV)

I heard a dear minister of God speak concerning his passion and reverence for the Lord. This minister said he had made up his mind to be the biggest offering giver in his church. When I heard that, I was stirred to begin to practice the same thing, and by the grace of God I have been going higher and higher in every way.

Why do I give the way I do? It is because of my high regard for God. Therefore what I will not give to my fellow man I will not give to God. David in 2 Samuel 24:24 had to offer a sacrifice to the Lord and Araunah the Jebusite offered to give David the king all he needed to offer the sacrifice as a free gift but David revealing his reverential fear and regard for God said to Araunah, “…Nay; but I will surely buy it of thee at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the LORD my God of that which doth cost me nothing. So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.”

David refused to offer to God that which cost him nothing. What about you? Do you offer to God that which cost you nothing? Some Christians who do not understand what it means to hold God in high regard will come to church and give Him their change, not because that is all they have, but because they do not know that their offering is part of the expression of their worship and value to God.

INSTRUCTION
Start expressing increased reverence for God specially in your giving. As you learn to give at the highest point in your level, God will surely increase you more and more.
