The agent for spiritual growth.

“Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:”
1 Peter 2:1-2(KJV)

Reading from our opening scripture, we are able to see some of the characteristics of babes in Christ. They keep malice, they are hypocritical, they envy and they speak lies and evil of others. The cure for all these character defects in the life of a Christian, is the sincere milk of the Word of God.

Christian spiritual growth does not just take place because you are a member of the choir, or you are a member of the usher in a Church. You don't even grow spiritually just because you are a Pastor. I want you to know that the Word of God is the agent of spiritual growth.

Therefore, if you are not making time for the Word of God in your life, you will not grow up spiritually. This is what explains why someone can be a Christian for the past eighteen years, and still remain a  spiritual baby. So, if you are not making time for the Word of God in your life, you will not  grow up spiritually.

Your measure of spiritual growth, is the measure to which the Word of God has dominated your life. It is important you know that the Word of God that you don't know cannot dominate your life, so you must desire to hear and study the Word of God.

Also, you measure your spiritual growth by how much of Christ is seen in you. Are you becoming more like Christ? That is what you should use in measuring your growth as a Christian.
