No more unbelief.

"But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John."

Luke 1:13.

You may expect that such a message in our opening scripture from an angel to any believing Christian should be received with faith and joy, but not so with Zacharias.

Luke 1:18 tells us about his response, "And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years." In life you will experience situations and challenges that will want to make you give up, give in, and quit. But you have to hold on to the Word of God. The Bible says in 1 Timothy 6:12, "Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses."

Zacharias’ unbelief brought him dumbness. The angel rebuked him for his unbelief and said to him, "And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season." Luke 1:20.

So, God wants you to control your tongue if you are going to see His promised Word come to pass in our lives. Speaking negatively after you have prayed will delay your manifestation. The reason for the delay in many things you believe for is your words; what you are saying. Because true faith is revealed in your conversations. You must learn to listen to yourself when you speak, it is not just the high moment of faith that is required, your daily confession also counts.

What you say every day largely determines the fulfillment of God's Word in your life. This is why Satan will put you under so much pressure so that you could speak negatively, because he knows God will bring your words to pass.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you for strengthening me with might in my inward man to be able to lay hold on the confessions of my faith without wavering inspite of the contrary pressures I see, feel or hear in Jesus Name. Amen.

What do yoy see.

What do you see?

"And Abram said, Lord GOD, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?"

Genesis 15:2

Our opening scripture reveals something very important in our walk of faith which I want you to understand today. Faith is seeing yourself in the light of the Word of God. Here in our opening scripture, the confession of Abram reveals to us that he was not seeing himself in the light of the Word of God. He was seeing himself going childless which was contrary to what God had already said to him in Genesis 12:2 where God said, "…I will make of thee a great nation, …" Also in Genesis 13:16 God said to him, "And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered."

Inspite of these words that God already said to Abram, he still was not able to see himself having children until God had to correct his perspective. That was why God came to Abram in Genesis 15:4 and said, "… This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir." In Genesis 15:5-6 the Bible says, "And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness." So every time Abram looked at the stars, he saw his seed. When he saw the stars he visualized his children.

It is not just enough for you to say that you are walking by faith. What pictures do you visualize? Are you seeing yourself in the light of what God has said to you? or are you looking at the contrary evidence? It is time for you to begin to visualize your future because it is the future you visualize that will be.

Instruction.

Meditate on Jeremiah 29:11 and Proverbs 4:18 even as you visualize yourself in the great future God has ordained for you.

Don't be weak in faith.

"And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb:" Romans 4:19

Weak faith considers physical circumstances to determine whether to believe God or not to believe God. Abraham totally disregarded the physical evidences that he saw in his body or the deadness of Sara's womb that pointed to impossibility. If he had considered those circumstances, God's Word would never have come to pass in his life.

How do you know you are walking in weak faith? If every time you are speaking of how discouraged you are, you are walking in weak faith. If you are always considering your body and other limitations that you see around you instead of standing on the Word of God, you are operating in weak faith.

Imagine a lady who just got married, who continues to pray and beg God not to let her have fibroid which is common among the ladies in her family. But there is a higher way. The Bible says in 1 Timothy 2:15, "Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety." Stand on the Word of God that from conception to delivery there shall be no complications in the Name of Jesus. Then be at peace, refuse to fear, only maintain your confessions in the Word of God.

Fear not and stop expecting the problems in your family line to be found in your own life too. According to 2 Corinthians 5:17, as a new creation you belong to a new family now, and in this family our response is based on the Word of God. In this our new family, we have strong faith in our family line as well as the blessing and every form of fruitfulness, prosperity and success.

Therefore, stop considering the negative evidences around you. Rather, start now to consider your true evidence in the Word of God. As you do, you will translate from weak faith to strong faith.

Confession

I refuse to consider the negative evidence which I see. I fix my gaze on the true evidence in God's Word which lets me know that I am blessed. I am fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God, there are no disadvantages on my path because I am living in dominion in Jesus Name.

The Power of words

"And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it."

Mark 11:13-14.

Notice that Jesus was not praying when He cursed the fig tree in our opening scripture, He just spoke and those words came to pass even as He said. This same principle still works in our lives today. Therefore, you must be mindful of the word that comes out your mouth because you are creating what you are saying.

Knowing the power of words will give you confidence when you pray because you would know that your words in prayer are filled with power.

The Bible says in Mark 11:20, "And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots." This means that our words spoken in faith deals with the root cause of every issue we are dealing with.

Words are very important. For instance, when you got born again, you made declarations with your words asking Jesus to come into your heart. If there were no power in your words, you would not have been saved and changed like you are today. The same thing is applicable to marriage. When the couple comes to the altar, all they say is words to each other. They make their vows to each other with words. Because of those words, they become man and wife. They are supernaturally joined forever with words.

What you say matters much. Do not just open your mouth and call your life a useless life. It will program your life negatively. It can also stop money from coming to you. Life is governed by words. Creation is governed by words.

So, start speaking the right words about yourself and your future, for as you do, you are creating the right force field around yourself for a victorious life.

Confession.

I declare by faith as a child of God, that no evil shall befall me. In my path, there shall be no death. Money cometh to me easily and by free course. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places, I have a goodly heritage. All my needs are supernaturally met. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. My family is blessed, my children are blessed, I am blessed. My ideas are blessed. God has strategically positioned me for productivity and increase in Jesus Name.

Faith in the Name

"And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils;"

Mark 16:17

Every Christian has the same authority in the Name of Jesus. So the Name of Jesus does not work because one person is more anointed than the other. Anointing and authority are two different things. The Name of Jesus works not because of the anointing you carry, but because of your faith in the power in the Name.

Matthew 7:21-22 says, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?" Notice that the Bible says that these people prophesied, they cast out devils and did many wonderful works in the Name of Jesus. They had faith in the Name of Jesus and they performed real miracles in that Name. But they lived unrighteous lives and that disqualified them from inheriting the kingdom of God.

This is why Jesus said about them in Matthew 7:23, "And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." So, Jesus knew they were working iniquity, yet they were able to do all the things they did in the Name of Jesus. How was that possible? To understand this you need to know that the legitimacy of an authority is not gotten from the one to whom the authority is delegated. Instead, the legitimacy of any authority comes from the source from which the authority is gotten. This is why Peter said in Acts 3:12, "… Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?" The Name of Jesus will work for you because of your faith in the power vested in that Name.

Prayer

I have authority in the Name of Jesus. Therefore, on account of my faith in the authority vested in His Name, I declare that nothing shall be impossible unto me in Jesus Name.

Have faith in God's Love

"For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them."

Luke 9:56.

God has not counted you out, so do not count yourself out. A woman was caught in the very act of adultery. They brought the woman to Jesus and said, "Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?" John 8:5. Jesus replied and said, "... He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her."John 8:7. And the Bible says that being convicted by their own consciences from the eldest to the youngest, they all left. (John 8:1-11). Imagine, even the youngest person there had sin in his life because the Bible records that they all left.

When they all left, Jesus asked her saying, "Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more." John 8:10-11. Jesus told the woman, "Go and sin no more." This clearly shows us that Jesus does not approve sin, but He loves you unconditionally.

Imagine if everyone in this world knows about the unconditional love of Christ and His willingness to meet their needs. How difficult it will be to have prostitutes. One of the reasons a lady will go out to become a prostitute is because she does not believe God will meet her needs. So, she continues in sin. Even when she gets born again, she does not know that God loves her unconditionally, so she continues in sin. Then, because she is living in sin, she feels very guilty and does not believe that God can answer her prayer, this hardens her to continue more in sin.

The man that steals to feed himself does that because he does not know that God loves him unconditionally, and He is willing to meet his needs in a more legitimate way than that. He does not know that before he was born, the sacrifice for his salvation and prosperity was already provided. If only he knew it, his attitude would be different. You do not have to compromise your faith in order to have your needs met. Repent from your wrong doings and have faith in Him. He is able to give you favour and ideas that will fetch you an income for a life time.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I choose your way and the path you have ordained for me to walk in above all else. I repent and forsake every way by which I have compromised my faith in the past. May your grace be released towards me; giving me favour with all men. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Don't quit your believing.

"Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered. And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away."

Matthew 21:18-19

I want to bring to your attention something that affects us most times in our faith walk. It is declaring something sometimes and not seeing the result immediately. The fact that you did not see the result immediately after you spoke does not mean you should quit and begin to nullify what you have already declared. In the realm of the spirit, a change has already occurred because of your declaration. So, it shall come to pass.

Notice the response of the disciples when they saw that the fig tree was dead and Jesus response in Matthew 21:20-21, "And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away! Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done." This means that your words are coming to pass because of faith. It is important that you know this because some persons get into the notion of thinking that their words are not coming to pass because they are not Pastors, Evangelists or Apostles. Not so! The word comes to pass because of faith.

Jesus goes on to say in Matthew 21:22, "And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." This means that where there is no believing, there cannot be any receiving. The reason why some Christians have not received what they asked for is because they do not believe. This is why the angel said to Mary in Luke 1:45, "And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord." So, God's Word to you today is this, "… And as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee." Matthew 8:13.

Confession.

I am a believer and not a doubter. The Word of God is final authority in my life. My words are coming to pass. Good is coming to me. All the benefits that God has for me are coming towards me by free course today. My life is easy; all things are working together for my good. I am enjoying God's favour every day of my life. Amen.

For further study read:

Romans 4:17-21, 2 Kings 7:1-20, 1Corinthians 16:13, Ephesians 6:10.

Doing the Word

When you pray today, believe that you receive and don't change from your confession.

Faith is anchored on knowledge.

"... The just shall live by faith."

Romans 1:17

Faith is not based on your feelings; it is based on the Word of God.

For instance, when you go to a doctor and the doctor tells you that you are going to take such and such a drug for three weeks and you are going to be fine. Because of what the doctor said, you went and took those drugs expecting to get better just as he said. You expressed faith in the doctor's words and acted accordingly.

So, what is faith? We can define faith as acting on the truth that we believe in the Word of God. Thus, believing that the Word of God is true and acting upon it is faith.

Have you ever thought about the fact that whenever you are travelling, you do not go to the pilot if you are travelling by air, neither do you go to the driver if you are travelling by road demanding they show you their licence to prove that they can convey you safely to your destination. You just have faith that the pilot can fly the plane and the driver can drive the vehicle. This proves to you that faith is acting based on what you believe.

Secondly, just as you entered that plane or vehicle believing that the pilot or driver can take you to your destination, faith is trusting God to do what He has said.

Prayer.

I believe and I speak based on my belief and confidence in the Word of God that all that God has spoken concerning me and my destiny in His Word shall be accomplished in their season. There shall not fail any of His good Word concerning me in Jesus Name. Amen.

How much can you receive?

"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

Romans 10:17

From our opening scripture, it becomes obvious that whenever you hear the Word of God, faith comes to your heart. In other words, faith is an offspring of the Word of God.

Developing your faith is so vital because it is what determines what you are able to receive from God. In James 1:5 the Bible says, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." This reveals to us that we can ask God for whatever we lack.

In Philippians 4:19, the Bible says, "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." God can supply all your needs. There is no need you have that God cannot supply. Interestingly, the word ‘need’ in Philippians 4:19 from the Greek also means demand. So, Paul the Apostle was saying to us in that verse that, my God shall supply all your demands according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Therefore, I will like to reemphasize here that there is nothing you need or demand that God cannot supply to you. So, whenever you have a need, the Bible lets you know who to ask. He says, "…let him ask of God…"

The second thing you need to know that will stir up your faith when you ask God for something is that God is a giver. The Bible reveals to us in James 1:5 that God gives to all men liberally. The word ‘liberally’ in the Greek means bountifully or generously. This means that God is generous. So, whenever you approach God for anything, you need to be aware that the Father is willing to answer that prayer generously.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you for your love and commitment to my well being. Thank you Father for you supply all my needs according to your riches in glory by Christ Jesus. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Get your heart right

"My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh."

Proverbs 4:20-22

Speaking the right words will cause God's life to dominate you and keep you in health. What are you then going to do to maintain such quality of life? The Bible says in Proverbs 4:23, "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." Proverbs 4:23 in the Good News Bible says, "Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts." The way you think decides what you believe, and what you believe is what you will say, and what you say, decides what happens to you.

Don't only focus on trying to change what you say, focus primarily on getting the Word of God into your heart. So, listen to the word over and over again. Get your Bible out and learn to study it. As you do, you are working on your heart because if your heart is right, your life will also be alright. But if your heart is defiled and evil, your life will also go in that direction.

Mark 7:21-23 says, "For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murder, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man." What defiles a man comes from his heart.

Knowing this, you have to lay up the Word of God in your heart and let those words permeate your heart. When that happens, your life will only reflect the Word because your life reflects the state of your heart. When I look at your life I can immediately tell the way you think. When you think that life is difficult, that will consequently be your experience. It will show up in your life. But when you begin to think the way of prosperity and abundance as revealed to us in the Bible, your life will begin to go in that direction.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you for a release of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of you even as I submit my heart to the influence of your Word and the Spirit in Jesus Name. Amen.

Renew your mind.

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."

Romans 12:2

I want you to know today that if you are struggling with unbelief, fear and discouragement in your life, you cannot just wish it away. These negative mind-sets have formed strongholds in your mind that can only be completely broken by the Word of God.

God's Word is the therapy you need if you are dealing with these negative mind-sets. I encourage you to get the suggested messages on page 67 and listen to them over and over again until your way of thinking is totally transformed.

Another thing you can do is to study the Bible and search for scriptures that are in line with what you expect or desire to see and meditate upon them continuously day and night. As you do so, you will totally get rid of all unbelief, fear, discouragement, and you will be completely confident and assured in the Word of God.

When you get to this point of confidence and assurance in the Word of God, whatever you say will begin to come to pass. (See Mark 11:23)

Faith is substance.

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Hebrews 11:1

Faith gives substance. When I did a check on the word substance, it refers to a support. For instance, the reason why a building stands without collapsing is because it has a foundation. That is what your faith does for you. Your faith gives you the support you require to stand in the midst of all life's storms. This is why the Bible instructs us in 2 Corinthians 1:24 to stand by faith.

The word substance in our opening scripture also means confidence, assurance, etc. In other words, we can define faith as being confident of what you hope for. And hope refers to what you expect. It is what you desire or your dream. Your hope is anything you desire to be, do or have. Hope also refers to the earnest expectation of good; it is the joyful expectation of a favorable outcome.

Assuming you are believing God for money. As a man or woman functioning by faith, your faith ought to make you confident of what you hope for. The Bible says that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. This means that it is the Word of God that makes you confident that you will get what you hope

for.

There may be no human explanation as to how the money will come. But you are to stand on the Word of God according to Philippians 4:19 which says, "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." That means that your needs or demands will be met in spite of your salary. Therefore, even if you were not paid, God says that, He is going to supply your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. You will then notice that God will begin to move on the hearts of people to give to you. But such confidence is only going to come to you from the Word of God because that is the basis for our confidence.

Confession.

Dear Father, your Word is my foundation. I choose to stand on the Word above every contrary evidence. I lay hold on my prosperity, my healing and divine health, with every victory that you have given me in Christ Jesus. Amen.

God does not find fault.

"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him."

James 1:5

The expression ‘upbraideth not’ in our opening scripture, means that God gives without finding fault. I want you to get that in your heart, knowing that when you ask God for anything, He is not going to chide, taunt or rebuke you for asking Him.

God gives without finding fault. So, when you ask Him for anything, ask with confidence. Faith is being confident in God.

In Mark 11:22, Jesus said, "…Have faith in God." In other words, Jesus is saying that we should have confidence in God. You need to be confident when you approach God in prayer, because when you come with confidence, He is not going to rebuke you, chide you or find fault with you. He will rather give you whatsoever you ask of Him.

James 1:6 says, "But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering…" This is the required attitude when you pray; you are not to doubt. When you doubt, the Bible says you will be "…like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed."

When you ask from God with doubt in your heart, the Bible says in James 1:7, "For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord."

That explains why some Christians do not receive from God. It is because they doubt God by doubting what the Bible says. Secondly, it is because of ignorance. Some people do not know that God is willing and able to answer their prayer because they are ignorant of the sufficiency of God.

Now that you know that God is a giver and that He gives to you generously without finding fault, ask Him for whatsoever you desire and receive your answer immediately in faith.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you for loving me with an everlasting love and your loving kindness towards me. Thank you for your grace that extends towards me richly. I am forever greatful for your unconditional acceptance and generosity towards me in Jesus Name. Amen.

Understaning faith.

"That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them."

Mark 4:12

If you want to move from hearing the Word of God to doing it, you must understand what you are being taught. This is because if you lack understanding of the Word of God, there will be no faith in your heart. Faith is based on clear and accurate understanding of the truth. So, when you understand the Word of God, faith is ministered to you.

You must understand that as a child of God, when you speak any word of faith, it kills anything evil from the root. For instance, if you are sick in your body and you use drugs, you are only treating the symptoms, not the cause. But when you use the Word of God against that challenge, you are dealing with the root cause of the problem. The Word of God has the ability to destroy every kind of sickness and disease as it destroys every work of the devil.

It took Abraham twenty five years to have a child that he could have had in one year because it took him that long for his faith to take hold of what God had already given him.

In Luke 1:35 and 38 Mary conceived immediately because the moment she heard the Word of God spoken to her by angel Gabriel she released her faith to accept it. She said in Luke 1:38, "…be it unto me according to thy word …" She understood the sufficiency of God. She asked initially in Luke 1:34, "…How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? ..." Then the angel answered and said to her in Luke 1:35, "… The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God." That is the same answer God gives to everyone who is asking, "How shall these things be?"

Just believe the Word of God and there shall be a performance of those things which have been spoken to you by the Lord, according to Luke 1:45.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you for giving me understanding of your Word through the dynamics of faith and what to do in order to produce results by the Word of God. As I practically release my faith and take hold of what you have already given unto me in your Word, it shall be unto me according to your Word in Jesus Name. Amen.

"Make a request, and it will be answered; what you are searching for you will get; give the sign, and the door will be open to you:" Matthew 7:7(BBE)

God is more willing to meet all your needs and to answer all your prayers. That is why Jesus said in Matthew 7:7 (BBE). "Make a request, and it will be answered; what you are searching for you will get; give the sign, and the door will be open to you:" do you believe this?

Matthew 7:8(BBE) says, "Because to everyone who makes a request, it will be given; and he who is searching will get his desire, and to him who gives the sign, the door will be open." I want you to notice something in this verse; everyone that asks receives. If everyone receives, that will definitely include you if you believe this and ask in faith.

Matthew 7:9-11(BBE) says, "Or which of you, if his son makes a request for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he makes a request for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, being evil, are able to give good things to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who make requests to him?"

Pray with this confidence always knowing that whenever you ask God for anything, you will receive it. When you ask in prayer with that kind of confidence knowing that God is a giver and that He has the supply for everything you need, you will always receive everything you need.

Confession.

Thanks be to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has blessed me with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. Therefore, because I am in Christ, I have access to all things that I require for life and godliness. Amen.

Calling things tha be not ...

"… and calleth those things which be not as though they were."

Romans 4:17

From our opening scripture we see that God calls things that be not as though they were. So the man who is living by faith is living in the past tense of God's Word.

For instance the Lord said to Abram in Genesis 17:5, "Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee." Initially his name was Abram, everybody called him Abram. But now God changed his name to Abraham to suit who He had made him to be. He had no child, yet in calling those things that be not as though they were, God called him Abraham; meaning a Father of a multitude.

He called himself the father of a multitude when he had no child because God called him so. He was acting like God who calls those things that be not as though they were. This principle will work for any body and for any situation. When you believe and call yourself the name that God calls you consistently, it is then you will see the manifestation of that Word in your life. Abraham believed what God said concerning him and he called himself who God had called him consistently and he had his son.

So, you have to believe what God has said about you in the Word for it to manifest in your life. If you do not believe it, it is not going to work.

According to your faith

"And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching."

Mark 6:5-6

Jesus could not do any mighty work in His home town because of their unbelief. He could only heal a few sick folks (See Mark 6:1-6). This shows us that faith releases the power of God and unbelief limits it.

God cannot do beyond your faith. So if you have not received your answer, the problem is not with God, it is because of your unbelief. In Matthew 9:27-30, two blind men followed Jesus demanding that He should have mercy on them. When Jesus came into the house, the blind men came to Him. Jesus said to them in Matthew 9:28-30, "… Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. And their eyes were opened; …"

Notice that Jesus said in verse 29, "…According to your faith be it unto you." This shows us that every child of God is living according to his faith. So if you are prospering, it is according to your faith. If you are in health, it is according to your faith.

Whatever you are enjoying or not enjoying as a Christian today is according to your faith. This is why you have to feed your faith by studying and hearing the Word of God so that it can grow. As your faith grows, the quality of your life as a child of God improves.

Don't give up.

"Jesus told them a story showing that it was necessary for them to pray consistently and never quit."

Luke 18:1 (MSG)

It is made clear from our opening scripture that God does not want you to quit. In other words, God does not want you to give up or be discouraged in your life. If you pray and you do not see a physical manifestation immediately, what should you do? For some people, that is the time to give up. But no! Do not give up. Hang in there and refuse to quit.

The Bible says, "... for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." (Galatians 6:9). There is a due season for you. God might have spoken to you, but you may not have seen the immediate manifestation in your life. Do not give up. His word to you shall be fulfilled in their season.

Many years ago, God told us to get on TV. In obedience, I went to negotiate with NTA. When I was told the amount, I wondered in my mind when we were ever going to get such an amount to pay for our TV broadcast. I was getting myself under pressure.

When God tells you to do something, don't get yourself under pressure. You are not the one that brings the Word to pass. Your part is to do the believing. And there shall be a performance of that which has been spoken to you of the Lord.

I remember the story of Jessie Duplantis who needed some money because he wanted to get on TV. He said, "Even the devil did not believe I will get on TV." At that time he could not even pay for fuel to fill his car tank. So you can imagine God telling that kind of man that he was going to get on TV. One day, he was walking out of a place and a woman walked up to him and said, "Brother Jessie, please take this." The woman then put something in his hand. When he got into his car on his way home, he discovered it was a cheque of 25,000 dollars and he was shocked. It happened just like that because he refused to give up on his faith. Your best is yet to come so do not give up.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you for I know you make all things beautiful in your time. Therefore I refuse to worry over anything. I cast all my cares on you because I know that you care for me. Thank you Father because I know you are bringing holy surprises my way today. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Ask in faith

"And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear."

Isaiah 65:24

From our opening scripture, the Bible lets us know that before we call He answers and while we are yet speaking, He hears us. God does not hear us because of much speaking. In other words, God does not hear us just because we prayed again and again. He hears us the moment we pray in faith.

George Muller was traveling in a ship one time and there was mist in the sea and they could not see their way. So, when he came out and the Captain told him about it, he asked the Captain to give him a moment. He went on his knees and prayed, telling the mist to shift. When he was through praying, he went back and told the Captain that the mist would shift. The mist shifted just as he said and the sea was clear again.

Come to this knowledge that you can change anything. Know that whatever comes against you is for the glory of God and you will surely overcome. When you face challenges with such an attitude, your attitude will be different in the midst of challenges.

For instance, when my wife was pregnant with our first child, the doctor said there was a fibroid disturbing the child. The average couple on hearing that would have said, "okay let us terminate the pregnancy." No, it was not so with us, we knew the blessing was on us because the Bible says in Deuteronomy 28:4, "Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body …" My wife carried the baby full term and our first child was born safely inspite of the initial testimony of the doctor because we knew the Word of God.

Therefore, when you ask the Lord in faith for anything, know that it will surely come to pass to the glory of God.

Confession

In the Name of Jesus, I declare that I am blessed in the city, I am blessed in the field. All my children are blessed. My business is blessed, my bank account is blessed. I am blessed in my coming in and I am blessed in my going out. All those that rise up against me will fall for my sake. My job and all that concern me are blessed. I am walking in righteousness and dominion. I am blessed with all good things. I shall never be barren. I bring forth fruit in and out of season. The windows of heaven are open unto me and I shall lend to nations and shall not borrow. The Lord has made me the head and not the tail. I shall be above only and not be beneath. Amen.

The Thomas kind of faith.

"But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe."

John 20:24-25

The Thomas kind of faith is the kind of faith that wants to see first before it believes. That was why Thomas insisted that except he saw in the hands of Jesus the print of the nails, put his finger into it, and thrust his hand into his side, he would not believe.

The Thomas kind of faith wants to see and touch before believing. The Thomas kind of faith is not what you should live by as a child of God. God expects you to live by the God-kind of faith. That was the faith that Abraham lived by and the Bible says in Romans 4:19-21, "And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform."

Abraham did not allow his circumstances to determine the validity of the Word of God, neither should you as a child of God consider any negative circumstance that you see. Hold on to the sworn declaration of the Word of God and be confident knowing that He is able to do all He has said.

Confession.

In the Name of Jesus, I take the Word of God as my final authority because I believe that He that has promised is able also to bring it to pass. Every negative circumstance is a mirage but if God said it, I believe it because I know it shall be unto me according to His Word.

You have what you say

"...For verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you."

Matthew 17:20.

What you say reveals the level of your faith. Your confession is always an indication of the level of your faith. What you are saying reveals what you believe. You speak what you believe. The Bible says, "Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks." Matthew 12:34. So, every time you open your mouth, you are saying what you believe. You are saying what you believe about yourself, your future, your capabilities and your finances. And don't forget, the Bible says in Mark 11:23, "For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith."

In other words, there is nobody stopping your progress but your words. When you said you could not do it, you lost the ability to do it.

Why? Because you have whatsoever you say. But when you say you will get it, you got the ability to get it. Why? "... this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith." (1 John 5:4)

The word victory is derived from the Greek word 'nike.' It means, 'the means of victory,' 'the instrument of victory.' So, now you can live a life of victory. Victory in your health, finances, marriage, raising your children and in every area of your life. Always remember that you have been called into a life of victory. Maintain your faith and always make sure that your confessions are always in agreement with your faith. So, instead of focusing on the problem, just feed your faith. Then with your words, you can change any negative situation.

Confession

I have victory in Christ. My words are filled with God's ability to produce what they talk about. Therefore, I speak peace into every area of my life and I declare that it is well with me and all that has to do with me. God's ability is at work in me, energizing me to make supernatural progress, in Jesus Name. Amen.

We receive by faith

"If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?"

Luke 11:13

I got filled with the Holy Spirit very quickly after I got saved because I acted in faith based on the Word of God.

On the 8th of September 1993, I went to church. The Pastor was praying in tongues and every other person around me was also praying in tongues. So I said, "Father in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, am born again and by my faith I now receive the Holy Spirit and by faith I now speak in other tongues." Immediately I completed the prayer, I began to pray in other tongues even as the Spirit gave me utterance.

That can also be your experience because the Bible says, "... Ask, and it shall be given you; ..."(Luke 11:9). Therefore, the moment you ask the Father in faith for anything, receive it and act accordingly because it was given to you the moment you asked. So, if you ask the Father for the Holy Spirit today, He will give you. Receive utterance immediately by faith and then open your mouth and pray in other tongues.

You do not need to wait for any special feeling. When I received the Holy Spirit, I did not feel anything but I knew that the Bible says in Mark 11:24, "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." I desired to be filled with the Holy Spirit. So I prayed and received the Holy Spirit and spoke with other tongues. Why? I knew that the Holy Spirit would give me utterance.

In Acts 2:4, the Bible says that the Holy Spirit gave them utterance. So, how did I know I had received the Holy Spirit? Our opening scripture says, "…how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?" Therefore, since I had asked the Father, I knew that I had received the Holy Spirit and I spoke in other tongues. You also can receive by faith.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I release my faith to receive. I receive the fullness of your Spirit and all good things which you have for me today. All God's benefits for me are coming to me today by free course in Jesus Name. Amen.

It is written

"(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were."

Romans 4:17

Whatever is written about you in the Word of God is what you are in the sight of God. This is because God's Word is the highest form of spiritual reality. So, let us now see some of the things written concerning you in the Word of God .

God's Word says in 1 Peter 2:24, "… by whose stripes ye were healed." That means that in God's sight you have already been healed.

God's Word says in 1 John 2:14, "…I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one." God's Word says in 1 John 4:4, "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world." Also 1 John 5:4 says, "For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith." All these scriptures show you how God actually sees you.

He sees you as strong and as a world overcomer. That is who you are and that is how you ought to see yourself.

In the Name of Jesus, I declare that by the stripes of Jesus I was healed. I declare that I am strong, the Word of God abides in me, and I have overcome the wicked one because greater is He that is in me than He that is in the world. Amen.

Faith to be healed

"And when Jesus went on from there, two blind men came after him, crying out, Have mercy on us, you Son of David. And when he had come into the house, the blind men came to him; and Jesus said to them, Have you faith that I am able to do this? They said to him, Yes, Lord."

Matthew 9:27-28(BBE)

From our opening scripture, we see two blind men crying out to Jesus to have mercy on them. Notice what Jesus said in answer to their request. He asked them, "… Have you faith that I am able to do this?"

What is faith? Faith is the visible expression of confidence in God and His Word. It is also the present tense expression of confidence in God and His Word. From these two definitions, we can further define faith as the visible expression of present tense confidence in God and His Word.

So if you have faith in your heart that God wants to heal you now, you must be expectant. In other words, you must be ready to receive your healing now. Jesus already makes it known in His Word that He wants to heal you. Matthew 8:3(CEV). This means that you must be confident that God wants to heal you now because faith is always now. The Bible says in Hebrews 11:1, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

When the two blind men we read about in our opening scripture declared their faith in Jesus to heal them, Jesus said to them in Matthew 9:29-30, "… According to your faith be it unto you. And their eyes were opened; …" I declare that this shall be your experience today. According to your faith be it unto you. Be healed right now in Jesus Name. Amen.

Instruction.

If you are sick in your body today, I want you to put your hand where you hurt and pray this prayer. Say, "Devil I break your power over my body and my mind right now in the Name of Jesus. And I speak healing to every part of my being right now and I confess that by the stripes of Jesus I am healed, in Jesus Name. Amen."

Your faith is your victory

"Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all."

Psalm 34:19

Do you know that all the things that happened to Job in the Bible took place within six months? Those long standing challenges we read about in the Bible all lasted for six months. And at the end of six months, he came out of them all.

Many years ago, I used to think that the time it took to solve a problem showed how difficult that problem was. But God corrected my thinking and said, "The time it takes to solve a problem is dependent on your faith." So the duration of the problem is dependent on your faith and not how difficult the problem is.

Jesus raised Lazarus who had been dead for four days in one moment. Why? It was His faith. He did not need to pray for six hours and after six hours, declare that Lazarus should rise up. So if it took someone else six hours of praying to produce results, it just means that it took that long for his faith to be activated to release a rhema to produce results.

Not spending time in the Word of God will not only delay the growth of your faith, but it will also delay your effectiveness and ability to produce results by the Word of God.

So, instead of complaining and wondering why that problem or challenge is still lingering, keep building your faith on the Word of God, for your faith is the victory that overcomes the world.

Confession.

I am born of God and according to the scriptures, whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that overcomes the world, even my faith. Therefore, I declare that I have overcome this world because greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.

Foundation for a Life of Faith.

""Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)" Hebrews 3:7-11

our opening scripture shows us that, the only way into God's rest is by faith.

Hebrews 3:12 goes on to say, "Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God." That means intimacy with God is impossible without faith. If you are not feeding your faith, you will backslide.

Again verse 18 of Hebrews 3 says, "And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?" This therefore means that if you want to get into financial rest and rest in your health, you enter in by faith. Faith is your access into rest in any area of your life. God says that he that comes to Him must believe. (Hebrews11:6) The life of faith is thus not negotiable. You may come to church, pray, give Offerings, and even sow seeds, but if it is not done in faith, it will not please God. If you only sow seeds to be known by the Pastor, you are not giving in faith because when you are known by the Pastor, you have got your harvest. For your giving to be in faith, it has to be in line with the Word of God. It means that you are giving because the Word of God says so. Let your giving be in response to the Word of God, because faith is the visible expression of your confidence in God and His Word.

So, if you have not been able to enter into what God promised, it is not because the devil or demons are strong. It is because of your unbelief. Therefore, get the Word of God concerning whatever issue you want to deal with, hold on to it and keep acting upon it until you see the desired changes.

Confession.

I walk by faith and not by sight. I lay hold on the reality of the Word of God to me. I lay hold on all that God has made available to me in Christ. All things are mine. I live in God's rest. Therefore, I release angels right now, to go forth and cause all that is mine to come to me speedily. Amen.

Faith is of the spirit

"For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

Romans 10:10

Our opening scripture shows us a very important principle in our walk of faith. The Bible says, "For with the heart man believeth …" The heart here is not referring to the heart that pumps blood. God is referring to your spirit. In 1 Peter 3:4 Peter called him the hidden man of the heart. In Romans 7:22 and 2 Corinthians 4:16 Paul called him the inward man. That inward man is your spirit and that is the part of you that relates with God, gets born again, and believes. You serve God with your spirit according to the scriptures. (See Romans 1:9). Also John 4:24 says, "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."

Therefore, whenever you hear or study the Word of God, open your heart(spirit) to it and believe it even if your mind thinks otherwise. When the Word of God gains entrance into your spirit, it will begin to renew your mind and influence you to think in line with the Word of God. (See James 1:21)

Faith is in your spirit not your mind. 2 Corinthians 4:13 says, "We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;"

Confession.

I am a believer and not a doubter. Therefore, I declare in the Name of Jesus that the blessing of the Lord is heavy upon me and all that concerns me. The blessing of the Lord is heavy upon my house and all them that dwell therein. The blessing of the Lord is heavy upon the work of my hands and upon my bank account. I am making spiritual progress and abounding in every good work in Jesus Name.

Faith is based on the Word of God.

"The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed." Matthew 8:8

For you to operate in consistent faith, you must live by the Word of God and not your feelings. If you base your faith on your feelings, your Christian life will be difficult and unfulfilling. Faith is not based on feelings, physical circumstances or sight. That is why the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:7, "(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)" Therefore, faith is only based on the Word of God and not on any sensory evidence.

As such, whatever God has said to you in His Word is what should be your reality. Any contrary thing you see, feel or hear, are all subject to change by your faith in the Word of God, because the Word has creative ability. So, if you are faced with challenging circumstances, act in line with what the Apostle Paul said in 2 Corinthians 4:18, "While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal."

What are those eternal things that we are to fix our attention on? The Word of God. Jesus said in Matthew 24:35, "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." In Isaiah 40:8 (BBE), the Bible says, "The grass is dry, the flower is dead; but the word of our God is eternal." So, fix your attention on what the Word of God has said concerning your health, finances, future, your children, etc. Let that be your final authority and the foundation upon which you base your life.

The Roman centurion in our opening scripture said, "… speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed." The Word is all that you need to be a success in every area of your life. In the realm of faith, the Word of God is enough.

Confession.

The Word of God is my life. I live by the Word of God. Whatever the Word says is what is final authority in my life. I declare that I am strong. The Word of God abides in me and I have overcome the wicked one. Amen.

What are you saying?

"We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;"

2 Corinthians 4:13

Our opening scripture is teaching us a principle of scripture which states thus: "I believed, and therefore have I spoken;" This reveals to you that what you are saying about your health, finances, marriage, spouse, children, job, etc. is what you truly believe with your heart. This is because the Bible says in Matthew 12:34, "… for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh."

What have you believed in your heart from the Word of God concerning the various areas of your life? Start speaking it. If you do not speak it, you do not really believe it.

God told Abraham that He had made him the Father of many nations. Yet, the man had no child. Then God changed his name from Abram to Abraham and immediately he went out and announced to everyone that his name was no longer Abram but Abraham, meaning, father of a multitude. His response was a proof that he believed God even though he had not yet had a child. He kept on speaking his believing for many years, and sure enough, he got his child Isaac.

Therefore, if you will not give up on your faith and the corresponding action of your faith through your confession and action, you will surely reap if you faint not.

Confession.

I am blessed, I am favoured, I am full of wisdom, I am righteous, I am holy, I am justified, I am prosperous, I am fruitful, I am excellent, I am rich, I am full of joy, I have peace, I live in health, I am full of God twenty four hours a day everyday of my life in Jesus Name.

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Hebrews 11:1

The word faith is from the Greek word 'Pistis'. It means a firm conviction, being fully persuaded, confidence, assurance, etc. Therefore, we can define faith as present tense confidence of what you hope for. Or being sure of what you hope for.

If you are not sure, confident or convinced concerning the reality of what you hope for, it means you do not have faith. It is also important for you to understand that hope is not faith and faith is not hope. Your hope refers to your expectations, dreams and desires but faith is what gives substance (assurance) for what you hope for (expect).

Without faith, your hope will not materialize because faith is what gives substance to what you hope for. This is why the Bible says in Romans 1:17, "…The just shall live by faith." This means that the life of faith is what every child of God has been called to live.

Therefore, I encourage you to read this special edition of ‘A Word in Due Season’ with great expectation because faith will come to you from the Word, bringing you greater assurance and firm confidence that will cause all you hope for to materialize in this season, in Jesus Name. Amen.

Prayer.

Dear Father, I thank you because my heart is open and my spirit is alert to receive your Word of faith to me in this season. As I receive your Word, grace is imparted to me to be a doer of the Word in Jesus Name. Amen.
