Grow Your Faith

Grow Your Faith 1

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, the just shall live by faith."
Romans 1:16-17

Today I will like to share with you one of the areas you need to grow in if you must increase your leadership capacity. Firstly, you need to grow in faith. The word faith in the Greek also means conviction and confidence inspires.

Hebrews 13:7 says,  "Remember them which have the role over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow ..." The Lord taught me saying, "The conviction of a   leader becomes the inspiration of his followers." So, you have to grow your faith. You have to move from faith to faith because faith is in different levels so the greater your faith the greater results you are able to produce.

The Pastors who are making the most impact around the world are men of faith. They got there because they dared impossible things. Are you willing to dare the things others think is impossible? Those are the things that separates you as a leader and inspires others to follow you.

Are you willing to go where others have never gone? Are you willing to attempt to do what others fear to do? You will only be able to do these things if you grow your faith. Remember that all great leaders are men of great faith. Therefore, grow your faith.

Confession.
In the Name of Jesus, I declare that I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. Greater is He that is in me than He that is in the world. Amen.

Born To Overcome.

A WORD IN DUE SEASON

Tuesday, May 22th, 2018

Born To Overcome.

"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an
hill cannot be hid." Matthew 5:14

In view of the statement made by Jesus in our opening scripture, it is obvious that every child of God ought to be a leader wherever they are and in whatever they do because they are the light of the world.

Therefore, if you are born again know that you are the light of the world. As the light of the world, I want you to know that there will be confrontations against you from the rulers of the darkness of this world which the Bible talks about in Ephesians 6:12. These rulers of the darkness of this world are spirit beings that govern the world, but because you are the light of the world, you will always win over the rulers of the darkness of this world.

The Bible says in John 1:5 (ESV), #The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. "This means that darkness can never overcome your light as a child of God. Therefore, I encourage you today to let your light so shine because darkness would only prevail around you to the measure your light shines.

For instance, when I was in the university (a Christian university), there was a time we heard that they had a cult on campus. When we heard, those in my fellowship and I began praying. As we prayed for the cultists that God will touch their hearts and change their lives, they started getting saved, and some of them joined our campus fellowship. Why? It was because we let our light shine by taking responsibility for change within that university and we overcame because light always overcomes darkness.

Instruction.
Pray for the salvation of any member of your family that is not saved. Also, you can pray for those who are not saved around you; in your street, your office, etc. mention their names even as you make intercession for their souls today.

Be An Influencer

Be An Influencer.

"Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus."
Acts 4:13

Today, we are going to be examining some qualities that a New Testament leader ought to have. A New Testament leader is an
influencer. Our opening scripture shows us the impact of the influence of Jesus on the Apostles such that when the Priests, Scribes and Rulers of the people saw the
boldness in the way they spoke and acted, they took knowledge of them that they had been with Jesus. Jesus is an influencer. What is influence? It is the ability to determine the thoughts, words, actions or behaviors of another.

Therefore, as a leader the people around you ought to be changing because of you. Your positive influence on them should be making them better; so, they should be thinking, talking and acting better because of you.

Also, a New Testament leader is a teacher. He informs. That is why the church is structured to raise leaders. Paul said in Hebrews 5:12, ''For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teaches you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat."  God expects you to grow to become a   teacher because one of the reasons why you are in church is to teach. This is because the church ought to be an assembly of leaders' not just followers. God expects us to grow to the point where we embody what is in Jesus.

Paul speaking to Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:2 says, "And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also." So, I encourage you to begin to find a way to begin to teach others. Knowing that you teach what you remember.  Therefore, the   more   you teach something the better you get at it. Be a teacher.

Prayer.
Dear Father, I ask that You cause me to increase in wisdom and revelations of Your Word and in favour with You and all men, in Jesus' Name.
Amen.

1 Corinthians4:16-17, Philippians 3:17, Colossians3:16.

Train Up Your Child

A WORD IN DUE SEASON

Sunday, May 13th, 2018

Train Up Your Child.

"One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;" 1 Timothy 3:4
Our opening scripture is one of the preconditions for leaders. Leadership should begin from your home. You must lead your children well to truly be a great leader.
Do you know that reducing parental authority over children is one of the plans of the new world order? They intend to break the communication between parent and child so that parents do not pass on their Christian traditions to their children.
They intend to carry this out by promoting excessive child rights which give children the right to decide to do or not to do what their parents tell them to do. However, this is not prevalent in Africa as in some European nations.
In other to reduce parental authority over children, they have also proposed abolishing corporal punishment, in other words we are looking at a situation where it will be against the law to flog your child with a cane as correction for wrong behaviour. Yet the Bible says in Proverbs 22:15, "Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him." Proverbs 23:13-14 says, “Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell"
When you observe nations where these excessive child rights are in force, you will also observe that the children and youths of such nations have become very rebellious and ungodly in those societies. This is why you must not allow your children to make their own decisions especially when it contradicts the principles of the kingdom of God. You ought to guide them in the way they should go now that they are still young. Do not leave your children to themselves and the media. The Bible says, ''Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6
Instruction.
Pray for your children and other children around you today - Pray that all your children will be taught of the Lord. Pray that God will grant them wisdom to discern between right and
wrong. Pray that God will deliver them from wicked and unreasonable men and women as well as from the negative influence in society.

A People Developer 2.

"When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, 0 Lord."
Luke 5:8

Our opening scripture shows us the words Peter said to Jesus the first time they met.
Peter felt unworthy of the Master and said to Him, "... Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, 0Lord."When Jesus heard these words from Peter, Luke 5:10 (MSG) shows us His response, "... Jesus said to Simon, "There is nothing to fear. From now on you’ll be fishing for men and women. ""What do we learn from this? We learn that as leaders we
have a responsibility to help those we lead discover, develop and display their God-given potential. It was through association with Jesus that Peter discovered his purpose and became an Apostle and mighty works were done through his hands to the point that the Jews had this to say about him after he had been well trained by Jesus ''Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. “Acts 4:13. Being under the leadership of Jesus turned ignorant men to superstars.

David was also that way as a leader; he was able to help men who seem to be nobody's become men with purpose and mighty men. They came to him without any prospects but he developed them until they began to display their God-given potentials. This was how they came, “… all who were down on their luck came around - losers and vagrants and misfits of all sorts. David became their leader. There were about four hundred in all." 1Samuel 22:2 (MSG). After being trained, these same men became mighty men You will see that in 2 Samuel 23:9-39.

Therefore, as a leader, don’t give up on anyone God has given to you but instead remain committed to helping them discover, develop and display their God-given potential.

A People Developer 1.

"And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men."
Matthew 4:19

Leadership   is   the   ability   to   help    people discover, develop and display their God given potential. Therefore, a leader is a people developer.

What do you do? What are you good at? If you are going to be a leader in that field then you must begin to develop or disciple others to do what you do. This is because for you to be an effective leader you must be a people developer, in other words, you should be able to raise someone else to do what you do.

If you want to amplify your impact as a leader then raise other leaders. They found out in the corporate culture of one of the most effective companies in America that
there is a constant commitment to raising and developing leaders. Therefore, it was discovered that most of the CEO's of the largest companies in America came from that company. Why was it so? It was because they developed leaders. Are you developing leaders in your church or business?

No matter what you do, whether you are a pastor or you are into business, always remember that you must set up a process for developing leaders because a leader is a people developer. Also, if the impact of whatever you do is going to multiply and spread you must raise leaders. Therefore, I encourage you to commit to raising leaders.

Prayer.
Dear Father, I ask that You give me a compassionate heart for those under my authority, help me to see them and love them the way You do. I receive grace to be able to help them discover, develop and display their God-given potentials, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Take Responsibility.

'"'I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd puts the sheep before himself, sacrifices himself if necessary." John 10:11 (MSG)

Leadership   is   responsibility.  It is taking responsibility for results.  It is taking responsibility for the well-being of others.

If you say you are a leader, it means that you are responsible for the results and outcomes of the group. As a leader you should be willing to take responsibility for both the success and failure of your group.

I learnt something many years ago from Edwin Lois Cole, he said, "God will never give you credit for success until you are first of all willing to take responsibility for failure." So as the leader, when things go wrong take responsibility. Weak leaders push the responsibility for failure to others but they are quick to take responsibility for success.

When you are a leader who takes responsibility for the group, God will trust you with more and be willing to do more with you because you are humble. It takes humility to take responsibility for failure because nobody wants to take responsibility for failure but everybody will want to take credit for success.

Therefore, if you want God to increase your leadership ability and influence, be willing to take responsibility for failure, then take the necessary steps for change that will bring your team to victory or success.

Prayer.
Dear Father, I receive grace for the strength to lead effectively and the strength of character to make the right decisions at the right time, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Foundation for Enduring Leadership.

"Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business."
Acts 6:3

Today, you will notice from our opening scripture that the first thing the Apostles looked out for in those who were to become leaders is honesty. For an individual to be honest, he or she must have integrity.

Integrity is the foundation for enduring leadership. Leaders who have been recognized and respected through the years are men of integrity. This is because without integrity your influence as a leader will wither.

So, if you are going to be trusted with people you must have honesty and integrity of heart. This is because honesty   not   charisma   is   the    first requirement for leaders. This is the Bible way for choosing leaders, honesty comes first.

Some persons may be wondering why they are not experiencing growth as they ought in what they do, either in ministry or even in business. The question I will like to ask you is this; are you working with men and women of honest report? If you are, then there must be growth and increase because when the Apostles appointed these men of honesty over the Lord's work, the Bible records in Acts 6:7 that the number of disciples multiplied. This indeed shows us that honesty and integrity of heart is the foundation for enduring leadership.

Prayer.
Dear Father, I ask that You continue to strengthen me by Your Spirit to maintain a perfect heart and to finish my assignment on earth without reproach, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Credibility in Leadership

A WORD IN DUE SEASON

Tuesday, May 8th, 2018

Credibility in Leadership.

"Good leaders abhor wrongdoing of all kinds; sound leadership has a moral foundation."
Proverbs 16:12 (MSG)

From our opening scripture, it is obvious that any leadership that will stand the test of time must be founded on a moral foundation. This is important because leadership is founded on trust, so if the people lose trust in you as a leader, you will no longer be able to lead them, because people follow those they trust.

Credibility is the basis for trust. Therefore, if the leadership lacks credibility, it will lack legitimacy; in other words, such leadership will not be accepted and will be rebelled against.

Proverbs 20:28 (MSG) Love and truth form a good leader; sound leadership is founded on loving integrity. "

This is why as a leader it is important for you to surround yourself with people who encourage you to do right and follow righteous judgments. When you read 1Kings 12, you will see that the leadership of Rehoboam lost credibility and he was rebelled against because he chose to follow the evil counsel of the young men who grew up with him neglecting the counsel of the old men that stood before his father. Reference read   -1Kings12:1-19.

Therefore, as a leader, never forget that leadership is founded on trust so never trade the credibility of your leadership.

Prayer.
Dear Father, I ask that You strengthen me with might according to the riches of Your glory by Your Spirit in my inward man to do the right things I ought to do and also to refuse to compromise in the midst of daunting temptations, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Leadership Is Influence.

Monday, May 7th, 2018

Leadership Is Influence.

"Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place."
2 Corinthians 2:14 (NKJV)

Leadership is influence. What is influence? Influence is the ability to determine the thoughts, words, actions and behavior of
another.

Everyone is a leader, but the difference between you and another leader is your level of influence. How do you know you are beginning to influence others in your field? They will desire to be like you. This is because people want to be like their leader. They want to talk, dress and act like their leader. That is influence.

For instance, there are many youths who are been influenced by successful musicians. The fashion and hair styles of these stars are being copied by those who admire or are influenced by them. That is leadership as influence.

This is why I encourage you as a Christian to be successful, excellent and productive in whatever you do. If you are, you will be able to influence many positively and by so doing, we will not only save a generation but we will also be replicating the character and charisma of Christ everywhere we are and wherever we go.

When we influence people positively, they get better. When they are influenced wrongly by the world they get worse. So, the onus is on us to improve our world by choosing to be a positive influence wherever we go.

Prayer.
Dear Father, I ask that You teach me to number my days, so that I may apply my heart unto wisdom, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Be A Solid Leader

A WORD IN DUE SEASON

Sunday, May 6th, 2018

Be A Solid Leader.

"Samuel gave solid leadership to Israel his entire life. Every year he went on a circuit from Bethel to Gilgal to Mizpah. He gave leadership to Israel in each of these places."
1Samuel 7:15-16 (MSG)

The Bible tells us in our opening scripture that Samuel gave solid leadership to Israel his entire life but the painful thing about the life
of Samuel was that his sons could not replace him.

When you study 1Samuel chapter 8, you will see that the reason his sons lacked the right to lead was because of their character; they lacked personhood. You can see that in 1Samuel 8:1-5 (MSG), "When Samuel got to be an old man, he set his sons up as judges in Israel. His firstborn son was named Joel, the name of his second, Abijah. They were assigned duty in Beersheba. But his sons didn't take after him; they were out for what they could get for themselves, taking bribes, corrupting justice. Fed up, all the elders of Israel got together and confronted Samuel at Ramah. They presented their case: “look, you’re an old man, and your sons aren't following in your footsteps. Here’s what we want you to do: Appoint a king to rule us, just like everybody else.""

Therefore, it is obvious that the failure of Samuel's son's character opened Israel to desiring a king. Remember that we learnt that a leader is someone others are willing to follow but the people rebelled against Samuel's sons because they didn't earn the right to lead because of the defect in their character. So, if you are going to be a solid leader then you must be a person of character.

Prayer.
Dear Father, I believe I receive grace to finish my cause without reproach, in Jesus' Name.
Amen.

You Can Be Blameless.

A WORD IN DUE SEASON

Saturday, May 5th, 2018

You Can Be Blameless.

"If anyone wants to provide leadership in the church, good! But there are preconditions: A leader must be well-thought-of..."
1 Timothy 3:1-2 (MSG)

From our opening scripture today, the Bible shows us a very important requirement for leadership, a leader must be blameless. If this requirement for leadership is good for business and every other platform of leadership.

I had the opportunity to watch an interview of two of the world's richest men. During the interview, the younger one of the two men was asked to say what he admired in the older man. He answered, "... his integrity." And he went on to say that if you have solid principles, it would take you through anything.
This means that if you follow the principles of leadership in the Bible, it will put you above those in the secular world who are dishonest.

You do not need to wait til you are made a leader before you begin to practice these principles. Start practicing these principles now from where you are because as you do, they will take you to the top.

Upholding I integrity in your life will announce you for leadership. People will be willing to follow you because they know you can be trusted

You can live your life above reproach. You can live a life that is scandal free. It is important that you make that your mindset. This is because, if you could not live a life this is scandal free, God will not demand it from you.

Therefore, I want you to know that you can be blameless because according to Philippians 4:13 you can do all things through Christ which strengthens you.

Prayer.
Dear Father, I thank You because You are at work in me both to will and do of your good pleasure. I thank you Father because You are able to keep me from falling, therefore, I receive grace by Your spirit to live a life that is free from reproach, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Your Personhood.

A WORD IN DUE SEASON

Friday, May 4th, 2018

Your Personhood.

"It is a true saying that if a man wants to be a pastor he has

good ambition. For a pastor must be a good man whose life

cannot be spoken against. He must have only one wife, and he

must be hard working and thoughtful, orderly, and full of good

deeds. He must enjoy having guests in his home and must be a

good Bible teacher. He must not be a drinker or quarrelsome,

but he must be gentle and kind and not be one who loves money.

He must have a well behaved family, with children who obey

quickly and quietly. For if a man can't make his own little

family behave, how can he help the whole church? The pastor

must not be a new Christian because he might be proud of being

chosen so soon, and pride comes before a fall. (Satan's

downfall is an example.) Also, he must be well spoken of by

people outside the church-those who aren't Christians-so that

Satan can't trap him with many accusations and leave him

without freedom to lead his flock."
1Timothy 3:1-7 (TLB)

One other way you earn the right to lead is through your

personhood. Your personhood here refers to your character. This

is what is shown to us in our opening scripture; earning the

right to lead through your character.

Therefore, I encourage you to read through our opening scripture again slowly and begin to conduct yourself

accordingly. As you do, you will be distinguished in character

and you will be living your life in such a way that will cause

you to earn the right to lead.

Instruction.
Please read Galatians 4:19 and pray that Christ be formed in

The Right To Lead.

A WORD IN DUE SEASON

Thursday, May 3rd, 2018

The Right To Lead.

"So David went out wherever Saul sent him, and behaved wisely. And Saul set him over the men of war, and he was accepted in the sight of all the people and also in the sight of Saul's servants." 1Samuel 18:5 (NKJV)

The way David was accepted by all is amazing because he was only a young boy at this time holding such a sensitive leadership position yet he was widely accepted by all. This was because David though he was young distinguished himself and was successful in whatever Saul sent him to do.

David's success and accomplishments earned him the right to lead. This shows us that the right to lead is earned. Therefore, if those who have not earned the right to lead are appointed as leaders, the people under them will rebel against their leadership.

There are ways in which you can earn the right to lead. You can earn it by the position you occupy. You can also earn it through productivity and results. That was the way David earned his right to lead. Whatever he was given to do was successful therefore the people submitted themselves to his leadership.

I encourage you just like David to go for success in whatever you do, if you do, leadership will gravitate towards you.

Prayer.
Dear Father, I ask that You give success to all that I lay my hands to do and in all that has been committed to my trust. I ask that You bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that Your hand might be with me, and keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

You Are A Leader.

A WORD IN DUE SEASON

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2018

You Are A Leader.

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be

hidden. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a peck

measure, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the

house. Let your light so shine before men that they may see

your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good

deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your

Father Who is in heaven."
Matthew 5:14-16 (AMP)

Everyone in the Body of Christ is called to lead. This is

because you are the light of the world. Light guides, light

exposes and light shows the way. Therefore, if you are a member

of the Body of Christ, from the day you got born again, the

responsibility of leadership was placed on you. This is why

from the moment you announce to others that you are a

Christian, they begin to use a higher standard to measure what

you do.

Did you notice that from the day you got born again, if you

reacted in certain ways, someone who knows you are now born

again would ask you a question like this, "I thought you said

you are now born again?" In other words, they unconsciously now

begin to expect more from you than before because you are a

Christian. This is because as a Christian you have now become a

leader. You are different and the world does not expect you to

live like them.

1Peter 2:9 (AMP) says, But you are a chosen race, a royal

priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God's] own purchased, special

people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display

the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of

darkness into His marvelous light."

Prayer.
Dear Father, I thank You for the responsibility to lead. I ask

that my life will be for Your praise and glory. May Christ be

formed and manifested in and through me to my world today and

What Is Leadership?

A WORD IN DUE SEASON

Tuesday, May 1st, 2018

What Is Leadership?

The mark of a good leader is loyal followers; leadership is
nothing without a following." Proverbs 14:28 (MSG)

In this month's devotional, we are going to be studying about
New Testament Leadership. What is leadership? Leadership is the ability to inspire followership. In other words, a leader is
someone others are willing to follow. A leader does not need to
coerce others to follow him or her, they choose to follow the
leader.

According to our opening scripture, the measure of your
leadership ability is the measure of your followership. So, the
measure of your leadership ability is equivalent to the
measure of your influence. Therefore, if you call yourself a
leader what is the measure of your followership?

In my early days as a Pastor, the Lord taught me the importance
of developing my leadership ability and the importance of
raising leaders not followers. Later, when I began to read
leadership books I realized that I was led aright by the Holy
Spirit.

Therefore, I encourage you to develop your leadership ability
because leadership in the New Testament is not a title, it is
influence. From the above, you can tell if you are a leader
