Credibility in Leadership

A WORD IN DUE SEASON

Credibility in Leadership.

"Good leaders abhor wrongdoing of all kinds; sound leadership has a moral foundation."
Proverbs 16:12 (MSG)

From our opening scripture, it is obvious that any leadership that will stand the test of time must be founded on a moral foundation. This is important because leadership is founded on trust, so if the people lose trust in you as a leader, you will no longer be able to lead them, because people follow those they trust.

Credibility is the basis for trust. Therefore, if the leadership lacks credibility, it will lack legitimacy; in other words, such leadership will not be accepted and will be rebelled against.

Proverbs 20:28 (MSG) Love and truth form a good leader; sound leadership is founded on loving integrity. "

This is why as a leader it is important for you to surround yourself with people who encourage you to do right and follow righteous judgments. When you read 1Kings 12, you will see that the leadership of Rehoboam lost credibility and he was rebelled against because he chose to follow the evil counsel of the young men who grew up with him neglecting the counsel of the old men that stood before his father. Therefore, as a leader, never forget that leadership is founded on trust so never trade the credibility of your leadership.

Prayer.
Dear Father, I ask that You strengthen me with might according to the riches of Your glory by Your Spirit in my inward man to do the right things I ought to do and also to refuse to compromise in the midst of daunting temptations, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
