Our Inheritance. “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.” Acts 26:18 What is inheritance? An inheritance refers to something that is transferred or passed on to another upon the death of an individual; it includes property, rights, possessions, money, etc.Inheritance can also be defined as the rights or privileges of an heir. It can also be referred to as a portion, share or lot from a patrimony. It is also something that can be legally transferred or transmitted to an heir. An inheritance is also a birthright or heritage. It is also a bequest or endowment willed to another at the death of a testator.In our opening scripture, the word used for inheritance from the Greek means a portion, an acquisition, a patrimony, heritage, inheritance, lot, etc. One of the simplest definitions of inheritance is that which rightly belongs to you by reason of sonship. Therefore, in this month's devotional you will be learning about the things that are rightly yours as a child of God. Prayer. Dear Father, I thank You for granting me the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You: may the eyes of my understanding be enlightened; to know the hope of Your calling and the riches of the glory of Your inheritance in the saints, in Jesus' Name.
