Measure your success.

“This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind” Ephesians 4:17(KJV)

Don’t judge your success by the symbols of success but judge your success by the day to day accomplishment of goals and targets in the direction of your destiny. If you don’t know this, you may never understand what true success really is.

For instance, if you are through with your university education and you have your Bsc or Msc or Phd and you are satisfied that you’ve achieved that level of success, and now you’re happy about it. In the same way, the guy that just left Senior Secondary School 3 and made his post UME, and passed the average required is also as fulfilled as you are. That is why we say, success is the day to day accomplishment of goals and targets in the direction of your destiny.

Notice I am using the word in the direction of your destiny because; to succeed outside of your destiny is failure, especially for the Christian, because the ultimate measure of success is the fulfillment of the purpose for which you were born.

Success is the realization of a God given objective. So every time you accomplish something God told you to do, that is success. That changes your view of success. This is because for some people, being a success is having a particular kind of house, or driving a particular kind of car, and that’s all. No! To some others success is achieving their human ambition, but there is more to success than just the achievement of human goals and dreams and the acquiring of material possessions.

What about the goal of becoming a better person, and the accomplishment of your destiny and God’s dream for your life? Those are the true measures for success.

Prayer: Dear Father my earnest desire is to please you with my life by the fulfillment of my destiny. I ask that you fill me with the knowledge of your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, that I may walk worthy of you and be fully pleasing unto you, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of you in Jesus Name, Amen.

Further Study: Philippians 3:4-16.

Doing the word: Set and pursue only goals that are in line with God’s destiny for your life.
