“Then all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the room of his father Amaziah.”
2 Chronicles 26:1(KJV)
Today I will like to show you a principle that will help you in your journey of prosperity. Our opening scripture today tells us about Uzziah who became king as a teenager of sixteen years old. The Bible says in 2 Chronicles 26:3 that, “Sixteen years old was Uzziah when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and two years in Jerusalem.” What made it possible for him to reign for such a long time in Jerusalem even though he began his reign as a teenager? The answer to that is found in 2 Chronicles 26:5, “And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper.”
The Bible lets us know that God made Uzziah to prosper in his reign because he sought the Lord. In other words, as long as he followed the way of wisdom, knowledge and instruction from God, God made him to prosper. So because his priority was in following the Lord, God helped him to take territories and caused his name to spread. (See 2 Chronicles 26:6-8)
Child of God, I encourage you to partner with God, make doing His will your priority, and as you do, He will help you to prosper in the works of your hands and He will cause your name to spread by giving you supernatural influence.
How did David get a great name? It was because he sought to do what no man had ever thought of doing for the Lord; he wanted to build God a house, because of that God told David he would build him a house, and his throne will be established for evermore (See 2 Samuel 7:1-16)
