“For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.” Proverbs 1:32(KJV)
Our opening scripture tells us that the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. Who is a fool according to the Bible? A fool is first of all a person who have refused to acknowledge God. The Bible says in Psalm 53:1, “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God…”
Another definition of a fool is found in Proverbs 1:22 where the Bible says that, “…fools hate knowledge?” So a fool is someone who despises knowledge. The Bible also shows us in Proverbs 1:7 that, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
I want you to know that the fact that you have been reading this devotional means that you do not despise knowledge and wisdom, that means you are not a fool. A fool will not crave such knowledge, neither will they acknowledge God, but you do.
Therefore I encourage you to continue in the way of wisdom, the way of wisdom is in practicing the Word of God by doing what the Word of God says concerning every area of your life and the principles you have been learning in this month's devotional on prosperity, as you do it will lengthen your days and give you riches and honour. (See Proverbs 3:16)
