How to minister to the sick?
“But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.”
Matthew 12:28-29
When someone is sick and oppressed, the devil is reigning over that person, whether in the leg, eyes, wherever there is an affliction, it is not an expression of the kingdom of God. That is why I hate sickness because I know its origin.
The strong man in the context of our opening scripture is satan. His goods are those under satan's authority. This is why when you want to minister to the sick, the first thing for you to do is to break satan's power over the person; For instance you will hear me say, “Satan I break your power over this person.” This is because all demons get their authority from satan. Then you have to address the devil causing the sickness and cast it out. For instance, you could hear me say, “Thou devil of infirmity in the Name of Jesus, come out of him.” This is what you have done; firstly, you have cut off its link with its head by dealing with satan first. Then you have also dealt with the spirit or devil of infirmity by casting it out. It has to obey you because the authority of satan (his head) has been broken over that person.
It is after you have completely dealt with the spiritual condition, you can now declare healing over the person by saying, “In the Name of Jesus, be healed in your body.” It is important you do this because when the devil leaves, there could be a part of the body of the person that may have been destroyed by that oppression of the devil (sickness). So when you say for instance, “Be healed in your kidneys or in your heart.” At that point you are restoring health and wholeness to that person's body. Because to heal is to restore to normalcy what was destroyed. Therefore, whenever you want to pray for the sick, take note of these things.
Prayer.
Dear Father, I thank you for empowering me by Your Spirit to bring deliverance and healing to the hurting within my sphere of contact, in Jesus Name. Amen.
