Take Responsibility 1

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy
mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and
night, that thou mayest observe to do according to
all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make
thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good
success.”
Joshua 1:8

One important principle you have to
understand as you prepare to succeed in every
area of your life this year is that
successful people take responsibility for the
outcomes of their lives. This is important because
until you are willing to take responsibility for
failure, God will not give you credit for success.
Stop blaming others for where you are. Arise and
take responsibility and begin to chart your course
for who you want to be, what you want to do and
what you want to have.

If you do not determine where you are going from
God and begin to work towards it, you may never
get there. There are different phases of life. At the
phase of innocence, when you were born, you
could not be held responsible for anything, but if
you are above twelve years you should begin to
take responsibility for your life.

Someone may ask, “How can that be?” Have you
heard the stories of men from broken homes who
made up their minds to become scholars? One of
such men was Peter Marshal, at an early age, he
took his things, got into a ship and came to America
from Europe. He learnt to work hard during the day
and went to school at night. He ended up becoming
one of the greatest preachers in American history.
He intentionally applied himself at an early age.

You are responsible for where you are because true
success begins with a sense of responsibility. Until
you take responsibility for where you are, you will
do nothing about it. It is never too early or too late to
begin to take responsibility for where you are, and
begin to work towards the great future God has
shown you.

Prayer.
Dear Father, I receive grace for excellence and
diligence to be, do and have all that you have
ordained for me to be, do or have, in Jesus'
Name. Amen.
