“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of
power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
2 Timothy 1:7.
Do you know that Winston Churchill, who
can be attributed to be one of the greatest Prime Ministers of the United Kingdom,
was said to be a dunce? He was not thought clever
enough to go to the university, yet see what he
became.
Your success begins with a sense of personal
responsibility. You must change your thinking and
know that you are responsible for what you
become. They may have called you a dunce but
you must not allow the wrong opinion of others
about you become your reality. God sees you
differently. 2 Timothy 1:7 (AMP) says, “For God
did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of
craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has
given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm
and well-balanced mind and discipline and selfcontrol.”
One of the greatest scientists of all time, Michael
Faraday, was born into poverty and had a very
difficult childhood yet he was determined to study and
he applied himself to the disciplines necessary
to become who he wanted to be and today, he is
being celebrated. The same goes for Isaac Newton
who was born prematurely and also had a difficult
childhood. His father died three months before he
was born. His mother remarried when he was three
years old and left him with his maternal
grandmother which left an indelible imprint on
him manifesting itself as an acute sense of
insecurity. Inspite of all these challenges, he still
applied himself to study and today he is celebrated
as one of the greatest scientists of all time.
What have you come to believe about you? Believe
only what God has said about you inspite of all
negative circumstances and apply yourself to study
and diligence which will in turn bring you before
kings and not mean men.
Confession.
In the Name of Jesus, I declare that God has not
given to me the spirit of fear. I have the Spirit
of love, of power and of a sound mind. Amen.
