God speaks in different ways.

“God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,” Hebrews 1:1(KJV)

From our opening scripture, we see that God speaks to us in divers ways. In other words, God speaks to us in different ways. One of the ways He speaks to us like we see in the opening scripture is through His Prophets.

Reading through the Bible, you will see that God spoke to Pharaoh through his dreams and Joseph interpreted the dreams to reveal God’s plan for the future. Why did God speak to Pharaoh through his dreams? This was because he wasn’t someone brought up in spiritual things.

God does not always speak to us through His audible voice. For instance, God can talk to you through an inward impression. That is what the Bible calls an inward witness. We call this the perception of the human spirit. In 1 Corinthians 2:11 the Bible says, “For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.” So, God can guide you or speak to you from your spirit through the Holy Spirit that is in you as a child of God.

Prayer
Dear Father I ask that you awaken all my spiritual senses to be sensitive and attentive to hear your voice and instruction through which ever means you choose to communicate to me today in Jesus Name. Amen.

Further Study
Numbers 12:6, Jeremiah 23:28, Joel 2:28, Acts 22:17-18, Matthew 2:12.

Doing the word
Use the written Word of God to judge the authenticity of any means you believe God spoke to you, it should be consistent with God’s revealed Word.
