God’s recipe for success.

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.” Psalm 1:1(KJV)

From our opening scripture, we see that the man who is walking in the counsel of the ungodly is walking under the curse. And the moment a child of God starts walking in the counsel of the ungodly, the blessing stops working. So, it matters what you guide your life by and the philosophies which you imbibe.

Psalm 1:2-3 shows you what you should imbibe and how your life will eventually turn out, “But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” Therefore, delighting in receiving knowledge of the Word of God by studying, listening and meditating on the Word of God day and night is God's recipe for our success.

Hosea 4:6 says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge …” The word destroy in that verse could also mean to fail. That means failure is traceable to a lack of knowledge. Therefore, for you to prosper and be successful, you must have the right knowledge.

The Word of God gives you the right knowledge by letting you know how to prosper in every area of your life. First of all He tells you not to walk in the counsel of the ungodly. Then He tells you not to stand in the way of sinners; in other words, you ought not to follow the wrong examples of sinners. He goes on to say you should not sit in the seat of the scornful, in other words, He says do not join the company of mockers or those who do not acknowledge God. But the Word of God should be your meditation day and night.
