“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17(KJV)
Our opening scripture lets us know that all scripture is given by the inspiration of God. In other words, those who wrote the scriptures did it under the influence of the Holy Spirit while they wrote. That means that the Bible itself is anointed.
I have heard of atheist who read the Bible to try to disprove the Bible and got saved in the process. They were reading the Bible to find points to disprove the Bible and they got saved. I have heard of muslims who read the Bible with the intent to disprove Christians and got saved. There is something about the Bible.
If you carry an encyclopedia and put it on a restaurant table nobody will look at you too much. But when you carry a big Bible and open it in a restaurant, you are going to stir up controversy. The Bible itself is so powerful, but as you read it, the power inside it is unleashed.
The fact that the Bible itself is powerful does not mean that you should carry it and put it under your pillow for protection. This is because the power of the Word of God is unleashed when the Word of God is in you and you believe it.
1 Thessalonians 2:13 says, “For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.”
Prayer
Dear Father, I pray for everyone who will read your Word in the Bible today that is not born again; I ask that the Word minster to their hearts; leading them to make a decision to accept Christ as Lord and Savior, in Jesus Name, Amen.
