Power in the Word

“The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.” Matthew 8:8(KJV)

In our opening scripture, we see the Roman centurion telling Jesus to speak the word only, and his servant shall be healed. In other words, he was telling Jesus that he believes that His Words will accomplish the same thing His presence will accomplish. That means that, God's Word carries the same power as when He is present because God and His Word are one.

In John 1:1 the Bible says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” This means whatever God can do, His word can do. When the Word of God is spoken, it carries the same power that God has.

Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke said, God said to him, “My Words are as powerful in your mouth as though I am the one saying it, so whenever you speak my Word it is as powerful as though I said it myself.” This is because God and His Word are one and the same.

When Jesus saw the faith of the centurion, He said to Him in Matthew 8:13, “Go thy way; and as thou hast Believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.”

So, if you start believing the Word of God, it will start manifesting in your life. In Romans 1:16 the Bible says, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” The word 'power' in the verse we just read means 'dunamis.' Dunamis means, the dynamic ability to cause changes.

Therefore, when you believe the Word of God, the power in the Word is released to produce whatever change you desire. Faith in the Word of God releases the power in it. In other words, faith is the key to activating the power in the Word of God.

PRAYER
Dear Father I thank you for your Word is alive and active and it will not return to you void but it will prosper in whatever it has been sent to do. The power in your Word is producing the desired change in every situation I direct it to today in Jesus Name. Amen.
