Dead to sin

"For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:"

Romans 8:3

The law could not stop men from sinning because the flesh is weak according to our opening scripture. What solves the struggle of sin is understanding the new creation. When Jesus condemned sin in the flesh, He produced a new creation that is not subject to sin because the nature of sin has been destroyed in him.

2 Corinthians 5:17(AMP) says, "Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!"

Romans 6:6(AMP) says, "We know that our old (unrenewed) self was nailed to the cross with Him in order that [our] body [which is the instrument] of sin might be made ineffective and inactive for evil, that we might no longer be the slaves of sin."

Galatians 5:24(AMP) says, "And those who belong to Christ Jesus (the Messiah) have crucified the flesh (The godless human nature) with its passions and appetites and desires."

Since sin has no power over the new creation the Bible admonishes us in Colossians 3:5(AMP), "So kill (deaden, deprive of power) the evil desire lurking in your members [those animal impulses and all that is earthly in you that is employed in sin]: sexual vice, impurity, sensual appetites, unholy desires, and all greed and covetousness, …"

Confession.

I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ lives in me. Therefore the life I live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me.
