God's character.

"Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions."

Psalm 51:1

When you understand the nature or character of God, that He is merciful, gracious, long suffering, forgiving iniquity, transgression and sin, then approaching Him to ask Him for forgiveness becomes easy. This was what Moses knew and why he confidently made intercessions for the children of Israel.

In Exodus 34:6-7 the Lord said, "And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin …"

Psalm 103:7-13 says, "He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel. The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him."

Adulation.

Dear Father, I worship you because of who you are. You are The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin. You are my God. Hallowed be your Name in all the earth. Amen.
