The Word is God.

"And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God."

Mark 11:22

Understanding the character of God is the key to unlocking your faith. The Bible gives us a clear concept of God. In John1:1 the Bible says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." That means the accurate picture of who God is from the Word of God. Therefore, you do not determine who God is by your experience but by His Word.

It is important for you to understand that the Bible is the conclusive revelation of God. Every other revelation should be tested by the Bible. This is because the Bible says in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works."

If you want to know anything about God, go to the Word. Jesus speaking to the Sadducees in Matthew 22:29 said, "… Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God." The Message Bible puts it this way, "…You don't know your Bibles, and you don't know how God works."

Therefore, if you want to know how God works, His character and who He really is, then go to the Bible. Any revelation that cannot be authenticated by the Bible concerning who God is, is false.
