Jesus, Child of the Holy Spirit.

“Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place under these circumstances: When His mother Mary had been promised in marriage to Joseph, before they came together, she was found to be pregnant [through the power] of the Holy Spirit.”

Matthew 1:18(AMP)

The circumstance under which Jesus was conceived shows us that Jesus was not the product of sexual union. The Bible says, “…before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost”

Jesus was not the biological Son of Joseph. Jesus was a child of the Holy Spirit. The Bible says, “… she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.” If Jesus was the biological Son of Joseph, He would not have qualified to be our Saviour. This was because the natural seed of every man was already corrupted by sin. Therefore He had no natural connection with Joseph’s seed because Joseph did not consummate the marriage until after the birth of Jesus. Matthew 1:25(ALT) puts it this way, “and he was not knowing her [fig., was not having sexual relations with her] until she gave birth to her firstborn Son. And he called His name Jesus.”

This is a great mystery as witnessed in 1 Timothy 3:16 which says, “And without controversy, great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”

I believe in the immaculate conception of Jesus Christ according to the scriptures. He is the Word of God made flesh, the Holy Son of God. To Him be glory and honour. Amen.
