The fear of God.
“The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.”
Proverbs 19:23
Walking in the fear of the Lord will not only prolong your days, you shall abide satisfied; in other words, you shall have need of nothing and you shall not be visited with evil. One of the ways you know you are walking in the fear of God is seen in your attitude and response to the Word of God. Do you hold the Word of God in high regard? Do you have reverence for the Word of God?
A man who is walking in the fear of God knows that whatever God says is the last Word. Is God's Word the last Word in your life or you have a better idea? Do you acknowledge Him by giving Him all that is due Him with reverential fear and worship? Does He have access to determine how you use your time? Does He have access to determine how you use and apportion your money and resources? Does He have control over your will to determine what you do with your life? Are you walking in His ways?
Walking in the fear of God is more than attending church services and singing worship songs. The genuine fear of God includes consciously choosing to honour God with all your heart, mind, will, emotions, strength and all that you have. When you live your life with such consecration the blessing of the Lord will be upon you and overtake you.
Prayer.
Dear Father, I dedicate myself to you and I choose to honour you with all my heart, mind, will, emotions, strength and all that you have blessed me with for Your glory, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
