Praying God's will.
“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:”
1 John 5:14
Today from our opening scripture it is obvious that when we ask any thing according to God's will, he hears us. God's will is revealed to us in His Word. Therefore, when we pray according to the Word of God, He hears us. Praying according to the Word of God, gives us confidence that God will hear us. In other words, God hears you when you pray according to His Word.
In 1 John 5:15, the Bible says, “And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.” Therefore, praying with the Word of God gives us confidence and the guarantee that whatsoever we ask of the Father, we receive of Him. Notice that 1 John 5:15 did not say, 'and we shall have the petitions' but rather it says, “…we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.” What gives us that confidence? It is because we asked according to the Word of God.
Knowing that God hears you when you pray, means that whatever you have desired or requested of Him is as good as done. If He heard you, then your answer is granted. Let this always be your conviction when you pray.
Prayer.
