What Is Faith? 2

“For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”
 James 2:26 (NKJV)

Yesterday, you learnt from one of the definitions of faith that faith is the visible expression of confidence in God and His Word. This shows that the evidence of faith is action. Faith is not passive, faith is active. Therefore, faith is activated when we act on the Word of God.

Faith can also be defined as taking God at His Word. In other words, faith is taking God at face value.

When you are in faith, you believe that whatever God says He can do, He can do. Whatever God says He will do, He will do. And whatever God says He has done, He has done. This means that faith is counting done what God has said.

Romans 3:3-4a (NKJV) says, “For what if some did not believe? Will their unbelief make the faithfulness of God without effect? Certainly not! Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar.” I encourage you to take the Word of God at face value because God cannot lie.

In the realm of faith, God's Word is final authority. The Bible says in Numbers 23:19 (NKJV) "God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?”  This reveals that God always says what He means and means what He says. So whenever God speaks, consider it done.

Confession.
In the Name of Jesus, I declare that God is who He says He is. God will do what He says He will do and God can do what He says He can do. I am who God says I am. I can do what God says I can do. I have what God says I have.
