He Came To Save Us 1

“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that

which was lost.” Luke 19:10.

Jesus came to save us because He came to seek
and save the lost according to our opening scripture.

Jesus also came to save sinners. 1 Timothy 1:15 says,
“This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all
acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world
to save sinners; of whom I am chief.”

Jesus came to save the world. In John 3:16-17 the
Bible says, “For God so loved the world, that he
gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the
world to condemn the world; but that the world
through him might be saved.”

Jesus didn't come to condemn the world, He came
so that through Him the world might be saved.

Jesus is a Saviour and that is what the angels who
came to announce His birth said concerning Him.
“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a
Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:11.

1 John 4:14 says, “And we have seen and do testify
that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the
world.”
