God Wants Obedience

“In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had
no pleasure.”

Hebrews 10:6.

Do you know that God craves for your
obedience more than for your sacrifices and offerings 
for sin? For instance, there
are people who think they can go and sin and then
afterwards bring a big offering to God. God will
rather prefer your obedience than to have a big
offering or sacrifice because of sin. Your obedience
is better than sacrifice. This is God's pattern. He
wants your obedience.

This principle was what God made known to King
Saul in 1 Samuel 15 after he did not fully obey what
God instructed him to do in the slaughter of the
Amalekites. He was meant to slaughter all the
animals but he compromised and left some of them
alive to offer to God as sacrifices because of the
people, but when the Prophet Samuel came to him,
he said to him, “… Hath the Lord as great delight in
burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the 
voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than
sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.” 1
Samuel 15:22.

Psalm 147:11 says, “The Lord taketh pleasure in
them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.”

Prayer.

Dear Father, teach me to number my days, so
that I might apply my heart unto wisdom, in
Jesus' Name. Amen.
