Bring your strong reasons

Monday, June 6th
Bring your strong reasons.

“Produce your cause, saith the LORD; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob.”
Isaiah 41:21

According to our opening scripture, whenever you pray, you must give God your strong reasons why your prayer should be answered. This is why it so important for you to know the Word of God when you pray.

When you use the Word of God in prayer, it helps you to present your prayer with strong reasons, proofs and evidence. Praying with the Word of God will help you to pray with confidence.

Hosea 14:2(AMP) says, “Take with you words and return to the Lord…” In learning to pray the right way, you must learn to always pray to the Father in line with His Word. Bring His words back to Him, reminding Him of what He has said.

Isaiah 43:26 says, “Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.” Therefore, you plead your case before the Lord in prayer by putting Him in remembrance of His Word.

What is that thing that you want to pray about? The first thing you would need to do is to find scriptures from the Bible that shows you that what you desire is yours, or is that which has already been provided for you according to the scriptures. Use those scriptures to plead your case in prayer and whatsoever you ask for will be established unto you.

Instruction.
If you have any recurrent need or challenge in any area of your life, search the Bible for scriptures you can use in prayer to the Father.

For further study, read:
Exodus 32:10-14, Nehemiah 1:4-11, Daniel 9:2-4.

Doing the Word.
Always pray based on the Word of God.

The effect of prayer

Sunday, June 5th
The effect of prayer.

“But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.”
Matthew 9:36-38

Prayer is God giving us an opportunity to get involved with His work upon the earth. It has been said, “It seems as though God will do nothing on the earth, until man prays.” Our prayer gives speed to the work of the Lord on the earth.

This is why Jesus asked us to pray that the Lord of the harvest will send forth labourers into His harvest. That is one prayer that you should pray often as a child of God as commanded by Jesus. Praying this way is an opportunity to get involved with God in His work on the earth.

We cannot be effective in doing the work of God without prayer. With much prayer we can accomplish so much for the kingdom of God. Therefore, “Pray without ceasing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17.

Instruction.
Please read Matthew 9:38 and then pray for labourers.

Effect a change!

Saturday, June 4th
Effect a change!

“…The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
James 5:16

Do you know that you can change things through prayer? You can! You must understand that your present circumstances and even a prophecy of doom can be changed through prayer. Jesus admonishes us with a parable in Luke 18 to teach us that we ought to pray always and not faint, in other words, we can change the situation by praying instead of being cowards, losing heart, giving up, getting tired, becoming discouraged, quitting, etc.

Some years ago, I had an acquaintance in ministry who visited me in my house when a certain governor was in office. He came and said that he saw a revelation that people were going to be killed all over the streets of the city where I lived. When he said his revelation, I answered immediately saying that it would not happen. Why was I confident? I knew I could change anything through prayer.

It is also important for you to know that when God shows you that judgment is about to be released on an individual or a city, He is expecting you to intercede for that individual or city so judgment could be averted. Therefore, it does not matter what you saw in your   dream or the prophecy of doom that you heard, they are not inevitable because they can be changed if you pray. Do not receive any negativity as final, you can change it. Do not wait for the evil to happen before you try to change it. It will be too late then. The moment you sense any evil, it should be an alert for you to pray so that you can avert that evil from happening. For instance, when a declaration came from the prophet Isaiah to Hezekiah that he was going to die according to the Word of the Lord, king Hezekiah changed it by prayer and God added to his life fifteen more years. (See Isaiah 38:1-5)

With this understanding, it is possible for you to avert any evil from happening to you or around you.

Instruction.
Read John 17:15 and pray that God will deliver you, your family and all those close and associated with you from all evil.

For further study, read:
2 Chronicles 14:11-12, Matthew 21:22, Luke 18:1-8.

Doing the Word
Whenever you sense any evil concerning anyone, pray.

Why we need intercessors...

Friday, June 3rd
Why we need intercessors …

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 6:23

It is clear to us from our opening scripture that the wages of sin is death. Ezekiel 18:4 also shows us that, “…the soul that sinneth, it shall die.” But we learnt yesterday that God does not take pleasure in the death of a sinner, rather He wants them to repent and live. So, what does God do? Since man is a free moral agent, in other words, man has the opportunity to make his own choices. God has to find a way to reach him in his sins while he still has the opportunity to repent. That is to tell you how loving God is and how much He prizes highly the soul of man. Every sinner that dies is an eternal loss to God.

Therefore, in order for God to reach the sinners so that destruction would not come upon them because of their sins, the Bible says to us in Ezekiel 22:30(NIV), “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one.” Would God find you to stand in the gap on behalf of the nation? All God is seeking for is an intercessor; one man or one woman, someone to stand in the gap on behalf of the nation, it could also be for an individual, a family, a village, a city, etc.

Your prayer life counts. Your prayers alone can save a whole nation. Never underestimate the power of prayer. Will you be an intercessor today? God is counting on you.

Prayer.
Dear Father, I ask that you grant unto me the spirit of prayer and supplication, in Jesus Name. Amen.

For further study, read:
Genesis 18:23-32, Psalm 106:23, Isaiah 59:16.

Doing the Word
Stand in the gap, do not hold your peace until you see God's will established in the nation, your family, city, etc. (Also, pray for the nation according to 2 Thessalonians 3:1 that the Word of God will spread rapidly and freely in every State.

What does He want?

Thursday, June 2nd
What does He want?

“First of all, I encourage you to make petitions, prayers, intercessions, and prayers of thanks for all people, for rulers, and for everyone who has authority over us. Pray for these people so that we can have a quiet and peaceful life always lived in a godly and reverent way. This is good and pleases God our Savior. He wants all people to be saved and to learn the truth.”
1Timothy 2:1-4(GW)

What is your opinion of God? Most people have this idea of God that God is destructive. They believe that God is responsible when people are killed. There are many who do not even know that God is caring and even desires that the ungodly be saved.

God revealing His character to the prophet Ezekiel said in Ezekiel 18:23(CEV), “I, the LORD God, don't like to see wicked people die. I enjoy seeing them turn from their sins and live.” God is not happy when sinners die in their sins. His desire is for them to repent and live. God makes an appeal to those who have sinned in line with His character in Ezekiel 18:31-32(GNB), “Give up all the evil you have been doing, and get yourselves new minds and hearts. Why do you Israelites want to die? I do not want anyone to die," says the Sovereign LORD. "Turn away from your sins and live."” Ezekiel 33:11(MSG) says, “Tell them, 'As sure as I am the living God, I take no pleasure from the death of the wicked. I want the wicked to change their ways and live. Turn your life around! Reverse your evil ways! …”

When you have such a view of God, your prayer life will be different. You will be more willing to make intercession for sinners knowing that God's true desire for them is to repent and live. Therefore making intercession for the unsaved is praying God's will. I encourage you to take up the responsibility for the intercession for souls today. God bless you.(Read Psalm 2:8)

Instruction.
Pray for the salvation of the souls of those around you who are not saved as a point of contact to the unsaved around the world, that God will grant them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth.

John 3:15-17, 2 Peter 3:9, 2 Corinthians 5:18-19.

You are protected

Wednesday, June 15th
You are protected.

“The LORD will protect you from all danger; he will keep you safe. He will protect you as you come and go now and forever.”
Psalm 121:7-8(GNB)

Why should you never have an accident? The Lord Himself assures you that He will protect you from all danger. He said He will keep you safe. He will protect you as you come and go now and forever. According to this Word, you should never have an accident.

Live your life confidently; free from all fear because you know that the Lord is your Keeper. Your Protector and Guardian is the Lord Himself, why should anything evil happen to you. Psalm 121:5 says, “The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.” This shows you that the Lord is your Keeper and He is always by your side. He stands by you and goes along with you everywhere you go. Praise God.

Psalm 16:8 says, “I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.” Psalm 73:23 says, “Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.” Therefore, the next time you are going somewhere, be confident knowing that you are not alone.

The Lord is with you, holding your right hand and leading you in the way you should go. Amen.

Confession.
In the Name of Jesus, I declare that the Lord is my keeper and the shade upon my right hand. He protects me from all danger and keeps me safe. He protects me as I come and go now and forever. Amen.

Psalm 23:4, Psalm 139:7-12, Hebrews 13:5

Doing the Word
Fear not! The Lord is always with you.

What is prayer?

Wednesday, June 1st
What is prayer?

“But if any of you lack wisdom, you should pray to God, who will give it to you; because God gives generously and graciously to all. But when you pray, you must believe and not doubt at all. Whoever doubts is like a wave in the sea that is driven and blown about by the wind.”
James 1:5-6(GNB)

Prayer is man's need crying out to God with the promise to meet it. The simplest definition of prayer is communicating with God. Prayer is not a monologue. It is a dialogue between you and God. Prayer can also be defined as transacting with God based on His Word.

The word prayer in the Greek simply means supplication, petition, request, entreaty, etc. made to God. Therefore, we can define prayer as making demands on God based on His promise.

Your revelation of God is what determines your confidence in prayer. In other words, your view of God is what determines your confidence in prayer. How do you get a revelation of God? God and His character is revealed to us in the Bible. So, when you study the Bible, you will become acquainted with God and His character. God's character revealed to us in the Bible shows us that God is a good God.

Jesus said in Mark 10:18, “…there is none good but one, that is, God.”

Jesus said in John 16:23-24, “And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.” Praise God.

Instruction.
Give thanks to the Father for a new month. Commit your plans to Him. Ask Him for whatsoever you desire in faith.

Matthew 7:7-11, Romans 8:32, James 1:17.
