Effect a change!

Effect a change!

“…The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
James 5:16

Do you know that you can change things through prayer? You can! You must understand that your present circumstances and even a prophecy of doom can be changed through prayer. Jesus admonishes us with a parable in Luke 18 to teach us that we ought to pray always and not faint, in other words, we can change the situation by praying instead of being cowards, losing heart, giving up, getting tired, becoming discouraged, quitting, etc.

Some years ago, I had an acquaintance in ministry who visited me in my house when a certain governor was in office. He came and said that he saw a revelation that people were going to be killed all over the streets of the city where I lived. When he said his revelation, I answered immediately saying that it would not happen. Why was I confident? I knew I could change anything through prayer.

It is also important for you to know that when God shows you that judgment is about to be released on an individual or a city, He is expecting you to intercede for that individual or city so judgment could be averted. Therefore, it does not matter what you saw in your   dream or the prophecy of doom that you heard, they are not inevitable because they can be changed if you pray. Do not receive any negativity as final, you can change it. Do not wait for the evil to happen before you try to change it. It will be too late then. The moment you sense any evil, it should be an alert for you to pray so that you can avert that evil from happening. For instance, when a declaration came from the prophet Isaiah to Hezekiah that he was going to die according to the Word of the Lord, king Hezekiah changed it by prayer and God added to his life fifteen more years. (See Isaiah 38:1-5)

With this understanding, it is possible for you to avert any evil from happening to you or around you.

Instruction.
Read John 17:15 and pray that God will deliver you, your family and all those close and associated with you from all evil.

For further study, read:
2 Chronicles 14:11-12, Matthew 21:22, Luke 18:1-8.
