The effect of prayer.
“But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.”
Matthew 9:36-38
Prayer is God giving us an opportunity to get involved with His work upon the earth. It has been said, “It seems as though God will do nothing on the earth, until man prays.” Our prayer gives speed to the work of the Lord on the earth.
This is why Jesus asked us to pray that the Lord of the harvest will send forth labourers into His harvest. That is one prayer that you should pray often as a child of God as commanded by Jesus. Praying this way is an opportunity to get involved with God in His work on the earth.
We cannot be effective in doing the work of God without prayer. With much prayer we can accomplish so much for the kingdom of God. Therefore, “Pray without ceasing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17.
Instruction.
Please read Matthew 9:38 and then pray for labourers.
