Do not doubt.
“A person who has doubts shouldn't expect to receive anything from the Lord. A person who has doubts is thinking about two different things at the same time and can't make up his mind about anything.”
James 1:7-8(GW)
So many people find it difficult to receive from God because of unbelief. What is unbelief? Unbelief is having faith in something else other than the Word of God. Unbelief is also having faith in someone or something else more than in God. If you are that way you cannot receive anything from God.
Do not try to work for what God has already given freely as that amounts to unbelief because you are not relying on faith and the grace of God which gives us all things freely (See Romans 8:32). When you come to God, come to Him on the grounds of faith, conscious of His grace. Hebrews 4:16 says, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” What is grace? Grace is the goodness of God to the undeserving. Therefore, when you come to God in faith, be conscious of His grace and His willingness to give you whatsoever you ask.
Do not be like that Christian whose confidence is more in himself and his works rather than in Jesus and His finished works. Such a Christian does not see the possibility of receiving anything from God by faith alone. Therefore, he always has reservations in his heart that maybe he has not prayed and fasted enough, or he has not sowed enough seeds that will move God to answer him. No matter what you do, when it comes to receiving from God, your faith should not be in your works but primarily in Jesus and His willingness to do you good. When you are that way it will always be easy for you to receive. God bless you. Have a great year.
