The law of obedience.
“And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.”
John 8:29
The more you obey God's instructions the more He will speak to you. Therefore I encourage you to prioritize the law of obedience. The more you obey God, the more He speaks to you.
God will not give you further instructions until you have obeyed the last instruction He gave you. If you want God to give you more, then you must step out in faith and obey promptly the present instruction He gave you.
For example in 1 Samuel 16 God instructed Samuel to send for Jesse and his sons because he has chosen one of them to be king over Israel yet God did not reveal to Samuel which of the sons he had chosen. The Prophet had to first obey by sending for Jesse and his sons to come to the sacrifice. This was why when Samuel saw Eliab the first son of Jesse he felt he was the one God had chosen because he did not know; because God had not yet revealed it to him. After he had seen all Jesse's sons present and God had not chosen any one of them, Samuel had to ask Jesse if he had any more sons. The moment he saw David, that was when God spoke saying, “… Arise, anoint him: for this is he. Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.” 1 Samuel 16:12-13. As you obey God, He gives you further instructions.
Prayer.
