Pray Forth The Word
“And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.”
1 Kings 18:41.
Our opening scripture was a prophetic word given to Ahab the king of Israel at that time by Elijah the prophet. I believe that many of you reading this devotional today have also received a prophetic word from God at one time in your life. God may have spoken to you and told you certain glorious things about your future and maybe you have not seen some of those things come to pass yet. It is not because they will not come to pass. It is because it will take prayer for them to come to pass.
Elijah prophesied that there is a sound of abundance of rain. This should immediately call for a celebration because at this time there had been no rain in Israel for three and half years. For many who would hear a word like that, they would have just gone about rejoicing and never stop to pray about the prophecy.
1 Kings 18:42 (NLT) says, “So Ahab went to eat and drink. But Elijah climbed to the top of Mount Carmel and bowed low to the ground and prayed with his face between his knees.” Elijah gave the Word, yet he went to pray while the king went to feast. When you continue reading 1 Kings 18:43-46 you will notice that Elijah continued praying until the Word was manifested. That is what you also need to do if you want to see your destiny or the prophetic Word God has given to you come to pass. You have to pray forth the Word.
Instruction.
Please read Isaiah 32:15 and Ezekiel 34:26 and pray for a rain of the Spirit upon you to increase your productivity in the remaining part of this year.
