Serve With Prayer And Fasting
“If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.”
Job 36:11.
Beginning from today I will like to show you some practical ways you can serve God for those who do not know how to serve God.
One of the ways you serve God is by fasting and prayer. Luke 2:36-37 says, “And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity; And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.”
When the Lord impressed in my heart that we should fast corporately as a church on Wednesdays and Fridays, I did a study on the early church because I wanted to make sure that all that we do as a church is consistent with the scriptures, and I discovered that the early church also fasted every Wednesday and Friday.
Also, we take communion every Sunday, and research shows that the early church took communion daily because they met daily (See Acts 2:46). In Acts 20:7, Paul was having a meeting in a church and they took communion on Sunday (the first day of the week). So I saw that the early church took communion consistently, that is why we also take communion consistently as a church; every Sunday, Wednesday and in cell meetings. We do all these things in other to stick to the pattern given to the church in service to God.
Prayer.
Dear Father, I ask that You fill me with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

1 Samuel 12:23, Acts 13:1-2, Ephesians 1:16, Colossians 1:9, Colossians 4:12.
Doing the Word.
Pray every day consistently and fast when we do because it is a part of your service to God.
