“Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child,
differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord
of all;”
Galatians 4:1.
Yesterday, you learnt that your personal
growth is your responsibility because
spiritual growth is intentional. God cannot make
you grow, you have to choose to grow.
There are Christians who make statements like, “If
God wants me to have it, I am going to have it.” No,
it doesn't work that way. Paul told the Ephesian
church in Acts 20:32, “And now, brethren, I
commend you to God, and to the word of his grace,
which is able to build you up, and to give you an
inheritance among all them which are sanctified.”
This means that getting the inheritance depends on
them. If they do not give themselves to the Word of
God to be built up, they would not get the
inheritance.
Therefore, time spent in the Word of God is
opportunity and positioning. So if you are not
spending time in the Word of God, you are putting
yourself in a disadvantaged position. Those who
are built up will enjoy the inheritance, but those
who are not built up will not enjoy their
inheritance even though they are sons and
daughters of God. That is why our opening
scripture says, “… That the heir, as long as he is a
child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he
be lord of all;”
Growing spiritually as a child of God, makes it
possible for you to enjoy your inheritance in Christ
which includes health, prosperity and every other
good thing in Christ.

Doing the Word
You know the area in the Word of God you need
to be built up, so spend time in that area;
hearing, reading and studying the Word for your
personal growth.
