Dearly Beloved,
Grace and Peace be multiplied unto you today in the Matchless Name of our Lord Jesus Christ by
whom we have received the mandate to embrace, embody and exemplify the Vision, the Virtues and the Values seen in the life of Jesus Christ and the Apostles.
Luke 12:47 NKJV
And that servant who knew his master's will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
Today I want us to address the subject of Preparation. Preparation is one of the most vital keys to success in any field of endeavor. Everything that is outstanding is standing on a tireless commitment to quality preparation. Whether it’s a marriage, a career, a business or a ministry.
Success is a reward for proper or adequate preparation. It has been said that, “The future belongs to those who prepare for it.” The Lord also told me that “You get what you prepare for.” Therefore, preparation is strategic positioning. Your preparation is your strategic advantage over those who don’t.
Ecclesiastes 9:10-11 NKJV
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.
I returned and saw under the sun that—
The race is not to the swift,
Nor the battle to the strong,
Nor bread to the wise,
Nor riches to men of understanding,
Nor favor to men of skill;
But time and chance happen to them all.
Give your best shot to whatever you do. It was the great Kathryn Kuhlman that said, “If you put your best into life, you will get the best out of life.” That means that you cannot expect returns where you have not invested. The key to enviable returns is a commitment to a quality investment of time, effort, money into what you do. Everyone is an architect of his own fortune. I heard someone say, “Success is a reward system.” That is consistent with Joshua 1:8; Psalm 1:1-3; James 1:25; Luke 12:47-48. Think about it.
Preparation is a demonstration of commitment, faith, expectation and value for the dream or goal that you seek to achieve. Whatever you will not prepare for, you do not value, worse still, you do not deserve. Remember that God will only give you what you prepare for. See Matthew 7:6; 2 Timothy 2:19-21; Proverbs 6:6-11; 30:25.
A bride prepares herself powerfully for her wedding. She wants to look her best on that day. She works on the finest details of the wedding because this is one of the most important days of her life. That should be our approach to life. Our attitude to our divine assignment is the proof of our value for our destiny and our reverence for God. See John 9:4; 17:4; 1 Corinthians 9:16. We should commit to daily ongoing self improvement. See 1 Timothy 4:14-16
In the kingdom of God, your work is also part of your worship. See Ephesians 6:5-9; Colossians 3:22-25. If you do shoddy work, it simply means you have no reverence for God and you have little or no self worth. A man or woman that fears God will never cheat anyone. They will do quality work every time because they know that the quality of their work can serve as a positive witness for Christ or cast a negative aspersion on Christ. Please do quality work in Christ’s Name wherever you work. You are His ambassador. Think about it.
Ephesians 6:5-8 NKJV
Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men, knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free.
Every time you do shoddy work, you dishonor the Savior of your soul. When you serve with quality, you bring praises to God. See Matthew 5:14-16; 1 Peter 2:11-12; 4:10-11. God seeks men and women who will commit diligently to quality work that He might promote them and increase their influence for His glory because they are good ambassadors of His Kingdom. May you be that person in Jesus Name, Amen. Shalom
