“And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.” Luke 2:40(KJV)
Our opening scripture is talking about Jesus. The Bible says as a child, he grew; meaning that He grew physically, then the Bible says He waxed strong in spirit; meaning that He grew spiritually, and was filled with wisdom. So we see that wisdom is a product of a strong spirit.
So if you are going to have wisdom functioning in your life twenty four hours everyday of your life, you've got to strengthen your spirit. And you strengthen your spirit by feeding your spirit with the Word of God.
One of the reasons why some of God’s children make the wrong decisions is because they lack wisdom. And God will not trust you beyond the measure of wisdom you have in your life. This is why the Bible says in Acts 6:3, that they should choose men of honest report, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom. Now if they had to choose men that had wisdom, it means that some Christians were not walking in the wisdom of God.
So how do you gain wisdom in your life? Wisdom is expressed in several ways in scripture. There is the gift of wisdom. In other words, God gives you a gift of wisdom. But there is also a need for wisdom that manifests as prudence in your life. This happens when your mind is attuned to the wisdom in your spirit.
As you continue to renew your mind with the Word of God, the wisdom in your spirit will begin to dominate you. When the wisdom in your spirit begins to dominate you, you will always walk in prudence.
