“Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;”
Galatians 4:1(KJV)
It is evident from our opening scripture that as children of God, we have authority. This is because the scripture says that the heir, … is lord of all. The word lord here is the word kurios, meaning lord, supreme in authority, or to him that something belongs, etc.
This means that as a child of God, even though you have been given much authority over the earth, you have to be brought up in the knowledge of the Word of God and grow in Christ for you to be able to function in that authority. This is because as long as you remain a child, (child here refers to an immature Christian or a spiritual babe) you will not be able to walk in the fullness of your authority as an heir of God.
This is why the Bible says in Galatians 4:2 that the heir that is a child remains, “… under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.”
This is why your spiritual growth should become your priority as a child of God. So as you receive the Word into your heart, learn to be a doer, for as you do, you will begin to grow up into the image of the Son of God. And as you grow up in the knowledge of Christ, the Bible says in Galatians 4:7, “... thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.” In other words you grow into sonship, where you receive complete access to the inheritance. So I encourage you to “…grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” 2 Peter 3:18.
Prayer.
Dear Father, I thank you because my heart is good ground for your Word and I ask that you grant unto me the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of you in Jesus Name. Amen.
