The Bible way to worship.

“The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet. Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.”        
John 4:19-20(KJV)

From our opening scripture, we can see that people worship for different reasons, some worship according to the traditions of their fathers just like the woman in our opening scripture who  worshipped God based on the traditions of her fathers.

There are many things we do in our worship to God because our fathers told us to do them, or our Pastor's told us to do them, or it could be something you learnt from your school or the fellowship you belong to. You may just be worshipping God based on the traditions of your fathers just like this woman did. She worshipped God on the mountains just because her fathers worshipped God there. That's religion.

Religion is the way man has chosen to worship God, and it has been said that one of the reasons for the divides in this world is religion, and that's true because even among the children of God, there are divisions that originated from religious practices and beliefs. For instance, the woman said to Jesus, “Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.”

The question I will like to ask you today before you start accusing others as the woman did to Jesus concerning the way they worship is this. Do you know what worship is? And do you know the right way to worship the Father(God) as prescribed in the Word of God? If you don't, then open your heart to the teachings in this month's devotional and your life will be enriched with the right knowledge on how to worship the Father in spirit and in truth.
