Positioned for Worship

“As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said …”
Acts 13:2(KJV)

Worship is the recognition of the Lordship of Jesus. The Bible shows us in our opening scripture, that as “… they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said…” This means that worship enhances your ability to hear God.

Worship positions you to hear God. So, if you want to hear God, it is important that when you worship, let your heart be in it and God will speak to you. The Bible says in Psalm 95:6-7, “O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker. For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice”

When you worship, let your focus be on Jesus and not on yourself, your circumstances or your needs. When you sing songs of worship to the Lord, let your songs be about Him and His greatness. Let your songs extol His Name and His glory. Sing songs of worship for who He is; He is God, He is worthy, He is faithful, He is holy, He is awesome, He is mighty, He is the Most High God, etc. Worship His majesty. He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. The One who was, the One who is and the One who is to come.

Therefore, when you begin to worship the Lord in this way, you have rightly positioned yourself to honour Him and to hear His voice.
