Knowing the How of Life

“The labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city.”
Ecclesiastes 10:15(KJV)

Our opening scripture shows us the dilemma of the foolish; they know where they want to go, but they don't know how to get there. That 'how to' is gotten by understanding.

For instance, there are those who have been born again and have come into the kingdom of God, but don't yet understand what they have as Christians. For example the Bible says in 1 John 5:13, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” This verse reveals to us that you can have something and yet not know that you have it. Then, you may know that you have something, but you may not know how to use what you have. This is the reason for the frustration in many lives.

One of the basic things every Christian should understand is the kingdom. This is because your ignorance is your vulnerability, therefore to be ignorant is to be vulnerable. Ignorance is costly because it will make you defenseless and you will be unable to keep what you have. (See Matthew 13:19) A dear minister of God said, “Ignorance is deadlier than satan.” In other words ignorance will cost you more.

For instance, there are Christians who are suffering right now, not just because the devil is against them, but because they do not understand the power of words. The Bible says in Proverbs 12:14, “A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: …” In Matthew 12:37 Jesus said, “For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.”

Therefore if you are suffering or going through any form of hardship today, one of the first things you need to change is your words. Keep your words consistent with the Word of God because the Bible says in Psalm 34:12-13(GW), “Which of you wants a full life? Who would like to live long enough to enjoy good things? Keep your tongue from saying evil things and your lips from speaking deceitful things.”

PRAYER
Dear Father I thank you for enlightening the eyes of my understanding with your words, my heart is flooded with light and I am always empowered to walk in the truth that have been revealed to me in the Word, in Jesus Name. Amen.
