“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, …” Matthew 28:19(KJV)
Today I want you to understand that we are called both as a church and as individuals to perpetuate kingdom culture. Jesus says to us in our opening scripture to go and teach all nations. The word nations means people groups, in other words He is referring to people of the same race, tribe, or habits. You will notice if you observe people that are from the same culture that they always have similar habits. For instance you may observe that certain cultures are very respectful and certain cultures are not, etc.
What is culture? One of the simplest definition of culture is; the way of thinking, talking, behaving, or acting in an organization, business or society. It includes the beliefs, aspirations and dreams of a people.
Jesus has called us to go into the world and disciple people of all races and tribes; in other words we have been called to impact the culture of all people groups in our world today by perpetuating kingdom practices or culture.
Jesus shows us how to perpetuate kingdom culture in Matthew 28:20 where He said, “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: …” This means that one of the ways we perpetuate kingdom culture is through the teaching of the Word of God.
Through the teaching of the Word of God, we are able to reshape their thinking to be in conformity to the Word of God. When their thinking is in conformity with the Word of God, they will begin to talk and act in line with the Word of God. By so doing we are impacting the culture by changing the way people think, because as a man thinketh in his heart so is he Proverbs 23:7a.
