The identity of Jesus

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”
Isaiah 9:6(KJV)

Our opening scripture is a prophecy given by Isaiah the Prophet concerning Jesus. The Bible here reveals to us the true identity of Jesus by letting us know that; “…the government shall be upon his shoulder …” in other words, He will be responsible for governance. This means that Jesus is the Governor of the whole earth.

Our opening scripture also reveals to us that His name shall be called “… Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, …” So if Jesus is The mighty God, it supports the truth that Jesus is God manifested in the flesh. So Jesus is not junior God, He is One, co-equal with God (See John 1:1,14), but according to Philippians 2:6-7(AMP) while He was on earth He put His glory aside and the Bible lets us know that; “… although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God God], did not think this equality with God something to be eagerly grasped or retained, But stripped Himself of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being.”

Jesus is also revealed to us from our opening scripture as, “… The Prince of Peace.” In other words, anywhere Jesus is ruling and reigning there will be peace. The word peace is from the Hebrew word shalom which also means prosperity;  nothing missing and nothing broken. This means that if Jesus is ruling and reigning in your life, you will experience prosperity.

Therefore, if you want to experience peace and prosperity in your home, your marriage, and in every area of your life, His kingdom must reign there. This is because He is the Prince of peace, so wherever He is reigning there must be peace.
