Counter depression

Thursday, August  11th
Counter depression.

“My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.”
Psalm 34:2

You can praise God for what He has done and for what you expect Him to do. Use your praise to counter depression and the spirit of heaviness. Whenever the devil wants to sow depression to your heart, begin to recount the great and glorious things that God has already done and also begin to declare in faith the great things that you expect.

Depression is focusing on your problems but praise is focusing on the greatness of your God. Therefore I encourage you to correct your focus in this season; focus on the greatness of your God.

Isaiah 61:3-4(AMP) say, “To grant [consolation and joy] to those who mourn in Zion--to give them an ornament (a garland or diadem) of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment [expressive] of praise instead of a heavy, burdened, and failing spirit--that they may be called oaks of righteousness [lofty, strong, and magnificent, distinguished for uprightness, justice, and right standing with God], the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified. And they shall rebuild the ancient ruins; they shall raise up the former desolations and renew the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations.”

Instruction.
In turning your focus on having a grateful attitude, write down as many things that you can be grateful for that God has done for you, through you and around you.

For further study, read:
Psalm 44:8, Romans 4:20, 2 Corinthians 10:17.

Doing the Word
Praise God sincerely for every item that you wrote down on your list.
